When you get to a point where you can wash your walls (assuming they can be washed and are white) use a bleach/water mixture and wash the walls. Pay special attention to those corners that tend to hoard cobwebs. The bleach will deter the spiders from starting a web that creats those little messes. I also read that lysol will work too, but have never tried it. The bleach solution works for right about 3 months. So it is a job that has to be repeated with every season change. Depending on your level of cobwebs would determine if this is a viable option.
