good work in the dining room, Betsy Marie. Didn't track anything today. Just been a humiliating week of letting people into my house Thanks, entropy. I think today's work will be significant in making progress.
I'm sorry that you had to let people into your house. I had to do that about 2 months ago, and I felt so bad about it, it really spurred me back into action to get the place back in shape. I too felt humiliated, and bad for the guy having to work in my mess... That feeling in that circumstance was far worse than the angst of getting rid of 'good stuff'. I never want to feel that way again.

Done: Combined all the ingredients for my biscuits/cookies (but it's getting late so I'll not put them in the oven until tomorrow) Put away baking things/tidied things into sink ready to be washed Wiped down surfaces Wiped some grime away on a light-fitting (it's been there since before I moved in) Oiled my wooden spoons and chopping boards Put a new liner in the kitchen bin
Tomorrow: Put away shopping (thankfully nothing that will suffer from being out overnight) Sweep or vacuum kitchen floor (with that done and the current standards maintained, my kitchen will be about as good as any kitchen I have ever had - yes a few pots waiting to be washed, a full draining board and untidy cupboards, but still up to Real Person standards I would say) Bake biscuits/cookies

-cut second shelf and put in cabinet -put more things (bowls, pots, etc) into new cabinets -washing more dishes -putting dry dishes away
I'm liking having more storage space. Fewer large, unmanageable stacks. Much easier 'put away'. This is going to make kitchen work easier, even if it means a wee bit more walking.

Done: Coated biscuits in icing sugar and boxed them in the one piece of tupperware I can't find a lid for - grrr Put icing related bits in sink Hung up laundry Gave downstairs toilet a quick scrub Mopped floor of downstairs toilet Gave bathroom sink and bath a quick wipe over Vacuumed (kind of - don't know where any of my vacuum end-pieces are) kitchen then mopped it over
Sorry - I know that's a lot for the short-list thread and I don't want to make anyone feel bad. However, my plan a couple of weeks ago was to draw a line in the sand in the face of the squalor. That line was going to be the back extension, which contains my kitchen, bathroom and downstairs loo. While it's not perfect, and there are some dishes in the sink and on the draining board, I now consider all of these areas to be less than first degree squalor. Now I have to keep them that way, and start steadily moving the line further and further into the house.
To do: Put yesterday's shopping away (still!) Put washing up away Do some picking up in the living room
