Hi everyone, welcome to the Short List thread.
Work however you wish, use whatever form you wish, make lists, don't make lists, socialize or encourage others if you wish, or keep your head down and concentrate on your own work... BUT...
There is one rule. Only short lists allowed - no more than 5 (or 6) items total listed in a post.
I find some lists helpful, but when I see really long lists, they freak me out. They make me feel overwhelmed. They make me think of all the things that I really still have to do. They make me think I'm not doing enough. They obviously are helpful to others, but not to everyone. This thread is intended as a refuge for others like me who, when seeing long lists, react negatively.
So let's get some things done. Everyone is welcome. Please feel free to join in, even if it's just to say 'Hi'.

done: -trash bin wheeled to street -medium-large bag filled from garage and put in neighbor's can -sifted unused but rain dampened cat litter - that task had been waiting for a month. -straightened the throws on the back of the couch -took out a 20gal recycling container to the main one.
It was beautiful outside this morning, but now I'm starved. Tea and breakfast are not far away.

done: -went through 2 boxes from one back room. Ended keeping 1/2 one box.
Started working in another room: -went through things on a collapsible cart, and then folded it up. -went through stuff on shelving behind cart - got rid of 2 old turntables into electronic trash
It's still a mess in there, but there is more breathing room.
I might have to arrange for a trash pick up to get rid of some larger things. We get two free ones/year.

Major project for Nov. to work on when possible: -clear space in garage for short metal shelves. (eventual home of empty canning jars) -move shelves sitting on top of table in back room into the garage -clear table top in back room -eventually move massive paper cutter from dining room table to table in back room -totally clear/clean dining table
Getting this big job done will be a great step towards house functionality.

Done - a moderate amount, but not much in terms of house stuff. -went to store and brought things in from the car -grey water detail -hung damp laundry
I was looking for something earlier today and was again reminded by how much 'stuff' I still have. Lots of boxes stuck here and there. I never did find what I was looking for. Must be careful however about avoiding 'overwhelmed'.
