your chart is inspiring, RoadRunner! love your emojis and how you broke down the tax monster! i'm sorry for the i.d. theft horrors, ClimbingPyramids. sounds like you are getting to be an old- hat at this, despite the awfulness. wishing you the best. i've been sick on and off all night and some today, so rough start but i hope i can at least start a few of these goals.

Congrats to all of you working on your goal of the week. I'm so excited about the new year with all of it's possibilities. I'm trying to follow a list that I found full of random things that I don't normally do. The first item is to wash the curtains in the living room. I actually completed this task and I'm feeling pretty stoked. Congrats RoadRunner for making such a cool chart. Good luck to everybody.

Hey everybody!
Lucie and CC, I'm sorry you're sick. CC, how's your kitty?
Roadrunner, as always, you're a model of organization. And even though I hope you don't see many of them, I love the expression for "did not attempt".
I did the freezer cleanout this afternoon, it wasn't as bad as I expected, only a couple of things to throw away. It was informative though, there were things in there I forgot I had. Today and yesterday I looked at my menu sticky-note (roadrunner, it's just the Windows one) and although each day I only ate one item from the note, at least I'm keeping in mind what I have in the fridge to eat up. If I manage to look at it and eat one thing from it every day I'll consider the week a success.

My goals this week: Clean off the kitchen table Sweep the floors and maybe mop Spend 5 hours per week on book writing project Spend 5 hours per week on picture project Work on bedroom floor Finish two belated Christmas gifts by Wednesday morning I've been derailed somewhat by well meaning friends calling and one yesterday that I spent 7 hours with and a phone call from her this morning. My goals have somewhat changed too or maybe added. It's unseasonable warm today but tonight a cold front comes in and it will be in the 20's and 30's the rest of the week. I can't turn the heat on in my bedroom because of the placement of a bookcase I bought last fall and to move it I have to play furniture tetris, which I did starting at 1 a.m. this morning. Then I decided that while I had space I would install some baseboard that dh failed to install 20+ years ago. The wind just whistles through that crack between the floor and the wall and the baseboard would help a lot. So far I've cleaned the floor on one side of the bed, measured the space and cut the baseboard (I bought it when I bought the molding for the sewing room). Now I have to move a few more things and clean the floor on the other side of the bed before I can even start maneuvering the baseboard in place. Wish me luck folks

Things moved, floor cleaned and baseboard maneuvered into place. Yay Me!!! Now to decide how to position the phone jack and put a few nails in. Then I can move the nightstand back into place. Edit: I wound up putting the nails in and scrubbing the floor all along the wall, pulling out the bed, etc. Now that's done and I'm ready to clear off the bed for the book & bookcase move.

Good job imamess. Sounds like a lot of work, but I'm sure you will be happy when it's all done. And I hope you can sleep well tonight.

Thanks, Hollyhock. I hope I sleep tonight too.
I put all the books on the bed and a few on the floor, then moved the bookcase. After that I went to the farm to feed and stopped to get dd a bday card. Now I need to find those shims I bought for the cabinets in the sewing room since the bookcase now needs some. Then I will dust everything and put it all back.
I've still got a long ways to go in the bedroom, but I made a lot of progress today.

Oops! I just found this thread. I had posted in the old one.
I thought I would get tons done since I have had some extra days off from work the past week and a half and am on winter break from classes but DD was home, and unfortunately, it seems that I get less done with her here, than when I am home alone. Also we had some unexpected things come up including a funeral. I know I posted something in the past about the outside outlet. It was working/not working intermittently over the past month or so, but last week it totally quit working, which has moved this project up on my to-do list. I am currently working on adding a new electric line between the house and the chicken coop. I bought supplies over a couple different trips over the past several days. This morning I completed most of the outdoor part of the task, working from the chicken coop toward the house. This afternoon, I hope to complete the little bit that remains to be done outside and complete the inside portion. I still need to run another line out to the pond, but that project can wait a week or two, maybe longer.
I still have goals: Continue to declutter the house. Work on eating healthier and exercising more too.

I spent some time this morning on the piles in the bedroom floor. Tonight I went in to clean the bed off and realized that there is quite a bit more space on the floor than there was this morning. I don't know if I'm stacking neater or things are really getting put away.

I'm finishing up this week's challenge. Main project was taking down Christmas. Up until this AM I had done very little. It is now ALL away - well except for the nativity. I will leave it until tomorrow. Not much else got done, but for me getting all of this done was huge! This year I had added a new tree, plus decorations for it. And village items that I had received when my cousins were clearing out their parents' house. I came home with 5 boxes of stuff in November - so the hardest part for me was figuring out where everything was going to go. So here are the results. Goals for this week, Jan 1 - 7, 2017 are: DEEP CLEANING/ PROJECTS: Put away all Christmas decorations: - balcony décor - wreaths and garlands - decorations on kitchen cabinets - plaques and other wall décor - small village in bird room - middle village in bedroom - village in china cabinet - other table décor - tree and decorations - Christmas linens - angels - nativity Sort out and tidy locker, and storage closet as I go DIGITAL: Declutter address book on my cell phone. Most contact info there is related to past job, and clients etc - need to go. NEED TO FINISH: Recover seats of 2 DR chairs Visit cemetery Prepare budget book and Bullet Journal/ Mind Dump book for new year Set up files for new year Bring in patio cushions from balcony to locker! CRAFT: Start crocheting!!! HABIT: Wash dishes, tidy LR/DR every PM (not good) OTHER: Buy a new bathing suit, or 2 Yay - needed desperately for waterfit Talk to ddil re her birthday - it's on the 7th - make plans. emailed her and ds delayed, everyone ill ADDED - and MOST important - on Monday I met up with jean! and we spent the afternoon together. It was a great visit.

Here it is, Saturday night! Hollyhock, good work putting all the holiday stuff away, I know that's a big job.
I'm counting this week a success, because having detailed menus on my computer has at least made me think every day about what's in the fridge and freezer. I ate something from the menus for at least one meal each day.
I think what I'll end up doing this year is have a week like this one where I try to start a good habit, and then I'll try to continue even though I'll pick a different goal the next week. If I find that I drift completely away later I'll come back and do it as another weekly goal. Having the computer sticky note means I see the next couple of days' menus several times a day so I can't just ignore them, hopefully I can continue to pay attention to it.
For the next week, I want to do some stretching exercises every day. This is something I MUST get back to because when I don't, I feel like I'm about 100 years old. I really am afraid I'm going to injure myself if I can't somehow keep up a minimum amount of time each day to keep myself more flexible. So the goal is to do at least some stretching every day for the next 7 days.

Towards the end of last week I made myself up a new weekly plan, which allowed me to spend 3 days on the week's project, without any cleaning chores included, except for the stuff needing attention daily or several times a week. So this will be my first week trying that out, because it's hard to fit in both into a day.
Starting January, week 2, I start working on my clothes, and clothes storage - the 'containers' they are in. This week is deditated to my clothes closet, and the clothes in it. (I also store hobby stuff in it, but that has its own time.)
I also have included a few things in my backlog.
Goals for Week January 8 - 14, 2017:
Trial new weekly routine Waterfit 5 times this week? Set up a second waterfit bag
PROJECT: BEDROOM CLOSET and CLOTHES in it - closet shelf - left side of closet - right side of closet - closet floor - closet doors - fall and winter clothes in closet Edit 1 blog subscription for keep or unsubscribe.
NEED TO FINISH: Recover seats of 2 DR chairs Visit cemetery Prepare budget book for new year Set up files for new year Bring in patio cushions from balcony to locker!
CRAFT: Start crocheting!!!
HABIT: Wash dishes, tidy LR/DR every PM
