closetofchaos Yeah, I have a real tendency to work hard and then slack off. Some of that has been out of my control (hurt my back, truck broke down, family members from around the country came home this month). Much of it is bad habits. Some of it is because a lot of my mess is from mental health issues, and some of it is from anger and resentment built up between DH and I. I've been working on letting that anger and mess go. I also wanted to see how well I would do without a list, even though I already knew I don't do well without them. Well, lesson relearned, . Day's 8-10 I was out of state for much of this, or doing things for family. Since I never wrote a list of what I did for the house afterwards, I don't really remember what I did. :/ Day 11. RANK: 1. Depressed Drone (A demotion. I was up to Demoralized drone before.) 2. Edit: I've been promoted to Demoralized Drone!!! Achievements:1. Decline. Oh this app is absolutely furious with me. 2. Sergeant Sisyphus! I think Sergeant Sisyphus will now be my housework name! Daily Wipe Out: Couch cover out of dryer. Delicates into dryer. My jacket into washer. Made and ate lunch for kiddo and I. Emptied, loaded, and ran dishwasher. Picked up toys in livingroom. Put jacket in dryer. Brought up delicates. 10 minutes fold clothes. Have a coffee. The drugs I'm taking for back make me very tired. Sweep floors throughout house. Feed fish. Feed and water birds and rats. Water plants. Swipe and swish bathroom. Swipe and swish kitchen. 10 minutes laundry folding. Dinner. (DH wanted to pick up 5Guys. Works for me!) Do hand dishes. Unload dishwasher. Load dinner dishes. Supervise Kid's Homework Supervise Kid's baths Supervise Kid's teethbrushing. Weekly War. Clean bird cage. Clean rat cage.

i hope this is not just a mobile app. i think i NEED this! (just checked; you can't install on a desktop unless it's a chromebook - oh well!) WTG squirrelsintheattic for moving up the ladder of success from unrepentant slacker to demoralized drone! a little humor never hurt my work ethic. in fact, it might help. thanks for the laughs and for all you get done. you get promoted in my book just for being a caregiver, feeder, chauffeur, cleaner-up-after, and raiser of children!

Yes, I'm not dead, although I'll forgive you all for assuming otherwise. A lot has happened in the past few months. My phone died, taking the passwords to all my accounts with it, my daughter was hospitalized for 3 days, I split up with my husband, and it turned out that my "bad back" was really some pretty large ovarian cysts. (You can skip down to the tl;dr here if you don't want to listen to my very boring and long story). The doctors took forever taking my cysts out. The left one finally ended up leaking and resolving on it's own, and I ended up in so much pain that I couldn't walk from my bedroom to my livingroom without LITERALLY ending up on my knees. It was the first time I cried from pain since I was 7 and snapped the bone in my elbow. (Yup, not even natural childbirth did it). I FINALLY had surgery to take the right cyst out about a month ago and I don't know too many details other than the cyst was grapefruit sized (boo) and non-cancerous (yay). I go in for my post-op follow up on monday, so I plan on grilling my doctor for details. It goes without saying that I haven't been very housework-ready for the last several months and my house is trashed. Luckily I've had my dad around to help me, and he's been my savior. He helped me clean the kids room and we got rid of over 12 bags of clothes and toys. And we still have more to go through. The front bedroom is completely blocked with kids stuff, and there's more toys in the cellar. >< I have to go through my clothes as well, but I'm holding off for when I stop swelling because there's no way I can tell what fits and what doesn't right now. Dad also helped me catch up on my laundry which is just wonderful. However, now that I'm feeling better it's time to take over as he has his own life. Ex hubby would never admit it but he's a tiny bit of a hoarder himself. It's been nice moving all his stuff out of my way so he can bring it to his moms. Some of the literal trash, like the broken, rotting, furniture that he dumped in our yard, I've just been throwing away. (Oh well. ) As for all my stuff, I can throw it out, or do whatever I want with it, without taking him into consideration. Housework is WAY easier to do when you're not feeling resentful. And it's certainly easier to spend time as a family without resentment. And that's about it. All's well that ends well, right? TL;DR, life has gotten busy, and since it's been so long I'm starting over. Is anyone else using the PCT app, or even just using the Pomodoro Technique? While a standard pomodoro is 25 minutes long, with a 5 minute break between pomodoros (with a longer break every 4 pomodoros), the lengths of time are custimizable. Come and join in! Day 1: Rank: Achievements: 15 minute boogie Bring daughter out to birthday dinner Feed pets supper and give water Do dishes Review spending Bedtime routine

Wow, what a time you've had. Glad to see that things are now on the upswing. How nice that your dad was so helpful when you needed it. I hope things continue to improve for you now.

Morning's been consumed by making and waiting for phone calls for some wrongfully billed medical bills for 2nd kiddo. Probably could have ran my timer for some of that, but since I mostly read literary garbage and waited, (and am still waiting), I didn't. Hi squirrels so glad to see you back! OMG! You've been through so much and I am sorry to hear that you have the flu. I hope you feel better soon. I wasn't talkative much back in January; but I appreciated this thread you started so much that I tried out the Productivity App and loved it! Life happened and I haven't used it much for the past couple of months and have only averaged 0.2 for the seven day daily average. I'm starting over this morning at 'Unrepentant Slacker'. Rest up and get to feeling better

Thank you so much startingover! Glad to hear you liked the app. The demotions are tough, but they keep you responsible. Life happens, and .8 is greater than 0. I've never had a high rank either, but I've learned not to sweat it. My game is not losing the ranks I've already achieved. Although I've learned that if you missed too many days it becomes impossible to move your average up. That's why I just scrap my data and start over if it's been weeks. :/ Will you be posting with me? Day: 12 Starting Rank: Unrepentent Slacker (DEMOTION) Goals: 1 mighty 90 pomodro 2 15 minute boogies Get running lawnmower Mow lawn Take off broken seat latch Research fixing seat Clean back seat if truck Rewash wash in washer Put away clean couch cover make other bed run another load of wash Put away dishes Run dishwasher Ending rank: unrepentant slacker Achievements: A minor setback Tally: 1 mighty 90 pomodoro 1 15 minute boogie pomodoro
