grace, the "like" is just so you know I am thinking of you.
Took 1/2 day off, will work longer hours other days, had a housekeeper scheduled to come at 7:00
Before she arrived
Washed bras in washer, hung to dry
Swept the kitchen floor
Piddled around, getting stuff ready
She arrived as I bagged the trash, she carried it out.
She used the hoover floormate on the kitchen floor
I moved random stuff out of the dining room, making space for furniture, bins & boxes.
I washed the tub mat & bath mats
She cleaned the bathroom while I
tossed stuff out of my bedroom into the emptier dining room through the connecting door
She & I together:
cleared, dusted, cleaned my bedroom
moved all dressers & cupboards out of bedroom into dining room
detail cleaned the bedroom
un-linened my bed
took bed apart
moved bed bits
cleaned where it WAS
leaned bed bits around the room while we
brought back in (last out-cupboard, wasn't coming back in, but it was in the doorway)
2 dressers, nightstand, a very small dresser with my jewelry box on it
like this (mine has a slightly different drawer set up, but anyway)
we put the bed back together & moved the cupboard back into the dining room (still there, as are 4 large linen bins, a stack of boxes, shoeboxes, my shoes are lined up under the buffet.
While I worked in the bedroom
she detail cleaned kitchen appliances, cupboard exteriors, counters, stove
I worked from 5:00 till she arrived at a bit after 7:00, all the way through until she left at 11:15. I took about 15-20 min worth of breaks, she did not.
The side of the bed was against an exterior wall. It now has free space on all three sides, and is about 2-1/2 feet from the exterior wall.
New habit up next: making the bed daily. I had tried, but got bogged down, having to lay across the bed to accomplish.
I still have to re-linen the bed and re-hang a mirror and paintings.
I think next up, is for me to finish the suspended (as in stopped working on it) closet customizing, and get my clothes back into my room. Presently in sewing room in cardboard wardrobes, which are starting to bend a bit as they are not designed to be used as in & out wardrobes. They need to be taped up to support the hanging bar.
I could not have done this without help.
