Thank you for the recipe wind, I will have to find the small casserole dish and give it a go . Will let you know how it goes. Newspaper sorting is slow going because I have a no-so-small cat trying to creep onto my lap anytime I sit down. And DH is not in the mood for newspapers either. (: Diane, I wonder if you could resign from the board, then charge the new board for the work you currently do?

Hi all. Diane, good on you for asserting yourself about the board. I hope you get a good outcome. I have some good news about my neighbour. After I spoke to him, he didn't move his car for 24 hours and I was a bit discouraged. But over the weekend, he has done some clearing up of his own parking space and has parked one of his cars in there, instead of in the driveway outside my window so I feel much more optimistic now. He still has lots of junk, car parts etc in the driveway but it is a sign that he took my concerns on board so I'm very pleased. Other than that, I'm a bit down today. Didn't sleep well, then slept in and had a mad rush to get kids to school on time. I might try to have a sleep, not sure whether that's a good idea or a bad idea. I am not going to work on any big tasks today but would like to get maintenance tasks done. Wind, your French toast sounds excellent. If I manage to get my oven fixed this week I'll give it a try. Perhaps that will be the extra incentive I need. Ohblondie, you're very brave to tackle your wardrobe. Most of mine is on the floor at the moment. It's on my to do list but I always leave my room till last. Pamela, it's great that you could get your work done and then have some time with your kids. I hope your back feels better soon. I'm going to rest for a while now and then do some daily stuff. jendela I remember you told me that the bare minimum for you is dinner, dishes and duds. It made a big impression on me because although I had a shorthand daily checklist in my head (dishes, washing, rubbish, tidying) dinner wasn't on it. And I realised that food should not be an afterthought. It isn't that we weren't eating well, but it was all last minute, stressful decision making. So I have adopted and expanded your list. Dinner, dishes, duds, decluttering and dumping (decluttering makes more sense than tidying as often the best way for me to tidy up is purge stuff as I go, and dumping includes putting out rubbish and recycling daily but also dropping off donations etc) I like my new checklist so thank you for the inspiration. Ok. Time to relax for a while and then I'll start with dinner for tonight and dishes from last night.

I didn't quite finish everything. I'm going to do the dishes in the morning, and I'm just going to take the late fee on the video. I'll return it in the morning, too. I'm really tired, and my everything hurts. I'm probably going to go to bed now. Goodnight, everyone.

my everything hurts. Pamela, unfortunately, I know that feeling! Good night, I hope you feel good and rested in the morning. Jendela, I would love to get paid for doing building work, but I think I'm the only one who realizes that's necessary--and if there's no one on the board who realizes it, they wouldn't pay me if I was OFF the board! There may be people who still feel we should hire a management company but if they do, I will task them with researching some companies and presenting a comparison to the rest of us--I'm sure no one will do that, it's WORK! We'll see what happens. Haywire, I'm glad your neighbor moved his car, hopefully it will stay in his parking place. And I like your 5D daily list! I got a call from my friend, I asked her if I could call her back when I'm ready for bed, otherwise I'd be talking and then have to finish up everything later. My clothing is still in the washer but I usually just throw it in the dryer for 15 minutes to take the cat hair off and then hang it up anyway--I guess I can do that in the morning. I still have to feed and medicate the cats but everything else is done. I'll see you all tomorrow in the weekday thread, good night! Diane

Wow, lots of productivity here today. My work meeting went well, though I felt frazzled during it as a result of it being last minute. Not only was it last minute but my boss loves to call and "chat" and it takes me forever to get him off the phone. I went the gym on the way home. Then stopped and got myself some lunch/dinner since I hadn't really ate all day. Came home to find my roommate had someone coming over, but he changed the shower rod and curtain in the bathroom so I won't complain too much!
Done Shower Dress Pack up work stuff and gym stuff Work and gym on the way home Sheets into dryer Wash duvet cover (in dryer now) Showered and washed and dried hair Swept up floor Remade bed Cleaned bathroom floor Put throw rugs in washer
For later today
All clothes away Clean room Work Paperwork Pack up everything for tomorrow as I have to leave the house early
It actually looks like a decent day, now that I write it all down. I washed my new sheets that I splurged on and put them on the bed. I think I like them, but we will see how I sleep tonight.

Also the usuals-bed made. Litter cleaned. Cooked dinner. Dishes done throughout the day.
Took out trash and recycling to curb
Spent some time working on getting ready for consignment sale.
Also went throughout closet and found two dresses for Lenten challenge. Took them right to the bin.

Hi there haywire - I'm glad that the enhanced Daily Ds are working for you - I feel I must say that it is not original, but something that I learned here at SooS. Sometimes I love cooking, but other times I would be happy to live on toasted tomato and cheese sandwiches. So a bit of planning and having a list of simple recipes means that I don't resort to Chinese takeaway too often, or give up and head down to the local on parma night. I really like your additions of decluttering and dumping! They fit in really well.
Oh, feeling discouraged because someone has dumped rubbish at the front of our house. I have rung the council to ask that they take it away.... but the illegal rubbish dumping is increasing to an almost weekly basis. And it makes me feel a bit paranoid, in case it is personal, when the most likely reality is that someone didn't want to pay for rubbish removal. Just another negative that makes me want to move away from this area.....
OK, DH and I are working through some of the newspaper backlog, so hopefully things will start to look a bit better soon.
