Yep, Serendipity, the kitchen table is a bug-a-boo for me.. i remember when I cam her in 2017..and a fw months later i was so thrilled when I tacked the clutter on it and so much hanging off every chair..... now it is back to the old days.
My excuse is it has been landing zone that I keep partially clear for bags of groceries coming in... I spritz the table (not good wood but a sorta wood look-alike with a bleach+ water mix. The unload all items onto th table as will fit..and wipe down each one with a soapy bleach infused rag..and place into the fridge, etc.
I don't have anyone coming over to 'dine' so no reason to be on a schedule to keep it clear, but I will feel better when I DO get it where it was when I was taking lessons last year and the lady came to my house once a week and I served tea and we sat in comfort, all of the kitchen 'passable'. ONWARD, eh?
PS: I remember the beautiful fractal you had in 2017 this one seems a bit different, designs are gorgeous... I found a glass cat face fractal and love it!

Do the breakfast bar or the kitchen table count in this discussion? We have a load of stuff on the former which hasn't moved in ages, as though the breakfast bar was the final resting place of all the junk there.
I haven't decided what to do with all that stuff which thinks it's going nowhere, but today I decided I didn't like the filthy look of the breakfast bar and started working on it. We keep condiments on trays there and the trays were also getting rather grubby, so I took everything off, washed and dried the trays, then set them on a table which we also have in the kitchen and returned the condiments to their trays, wiping as necessary. I wiped the space that had been cleared and put back the trays. It was just a small fraction of the whole breakfast bar, but I am pleased I made a start. The rest of the breakfast bar is going to be more of a challenge in that I don't know where to clear it to.
The kitchen table is cleared and cleaned more frequently, though not every day, I'm ashamed to say, especially since madam K9 joined us. When I do manage to get it cleared, I reward myself by allowing myself to read a few pages from a book on my tablet.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Gillian
