Now you've got me curious... Which body part did you name House Hunters? LOL
Re: reading. Here's an idea... I know you've got an important book you've always been meaning to read... a major literary work or other of the "great books." Challenge yourself to read it, and put all that other junk food reading/churning aside for the interim.

papermoon Female part below the equator which is why House Hunters was sort of dirty Interesting challenge - friend and I were talking a few days ago about our enjoyment of Russian Literature. I also have both a book on Eat to beat disease and Hamilton (book that the musical is based on) on my kindle. So, you are right - there are a few books out there that would meet that challenge. PC

Trying for at least a once a week posting on this thread: My major change to the schedule is that DH and I have started intermittent fasting. DH has a lot of diabetes and heart disease in his family and we've read several papers that numbers could improve. Of course, that makes the assumption you aren't cramming 2 days of calories into 8 hours. Anyway, we are doing it 11-7 most days and if we have supper plans - changing it to 12-8. So far, it has been easier than I thought and energy is slowly improving. I've been able to do quite a bit more in the AM than previously. And, so far the numbers have been going down as was the goal. Having this underlying "food" schedule will assist with what I want to do with the rest of our schedule. And, I'm pretty much still glowy thing free. A BIG week would be 3-4 hours and considering that was a small amount of my one day TV - I'm very pleased. PC

I think my issue with schedules is that I don't really have one. It controls me - I don't control it. It all centers around work. I have more than enough to do to fill a 40 hour week. Yet I mainly just put out the daily fires and meet deadlines imposed by others. I get done what I absolutely HAVE to get done but not much else. Part of it is due to DH not having a schedule. And, I know he never will. That isn't the way he works. In this case it will really be motivation follows action because I'm extremely resistant to this concept. And, now that DM is living here and we have several issues going on with friends - my days frequently can turn on a dime. I have to think about this - we are going on a mini-vacation but after that I'm here until August sometime. See if I can form a schedule "habit".

My first three things that I want to add to a regular "normal" schedule are: 1) Go to office - sounds easy peasy if I was a normal person with a normal job but since I can do my critical stuff anywhere I am with my laptop - I don't spend time at my desk. However, that means that I don't work very hard on the "non-critical" stuff and I have a lot of procrastinated projects like filing, sorting and dumping. So starting on Monday, I will work a "normal day". I will be in the office by 9. I will try to stay until 5. As I mentioned, between DH, DM and various friends - sometimes I'm called away. However, unless it is an emergency - people with regular jobs don't have this issue - I'm going to start pretending I have a regular job. 2) Organize my food shopping. We mainly shop at one location for at least 80% of our consumables - Sprouts. I prefer buying my paper goods and cleaning items at our regular grocery as well as some speciality groceries that Sprouts doesn't carry like the yogurt brand DH likes. And, we have a half dozen things that are Costco - sparkling water, cauliflower rice, some OTC meds not to mention discount coupons. We also go to the drugstore regularly and sometimes Trader Joe's. I would like to shop at Sprouts once a week and then push the Costco, drugstore and grocery store into once/twice a month. And, Trader Joe's once a month. 3) And, make it specific days and look for coupons which I can pull up in a website during my lunch hour. This would also have me planning meals. All my friends that work normal jobs are incredibly strict about their shopping days because there is no other time to do it. I don't see why I can't do that too. I just have the flexibility to do things in the evening instead of taking up my Saturday/Sunday. I will do my Sprouts shopping on Wednesday - good day because it is a double sale day - Wednesdays include both the sale ending week and the start of the new sale week. Haven't decided on the rest yet. PC

Still haven't made progress on the office stuff - last week was a holiday week so very sluggish all around. But organizing the food and cooking at home more. Not as much as I would like but better. Realized Wednesday is another good day because our compost pick up is then and the fridge is cleaned out of anything not making the cut for another week. This past weekend - I did a mini purge of the fridge because a friend gave me a bunch of food since she was leaving town. Made a "dump" soup. Wiped down all the shelves and drawers. It is good enough. And, I have some lunches and/or suppers with the big pot of soup.

Still greatly resistant to a regular work day. No idea why - I used to work my a$$ off in my old jobs - sometimes 18-20 hour days when busy time of the year. I planned my freakin' wedding around our "relatively" slow time. Of course I was A LOT younger and stronger. I can still push out the hours when necessary but why can't I just commit to "normal" - I want to be "normal". Anyway, I did a peep of the whole house. I hit almost all surfaces. Nothing done in cupboards, drawers or closets. And, I'm maintaining - I'm forcing myself to peep AM and PM. And, try and put away as I go along. My "put away" places are stuffed full. But baby steps - right? Still eating out too much and we have company this week so not anticipating a week of eating at home. Did a big grocery store run yesterday so that the fruit etc. was fresh and I didn't have to go back while company was here. My Wednesday run was to the regular grocery for paper products and to do DM's shopping. Just posting here to keep myself and my goals accountable.

Was gone for half of August - had an event out of state. At this point no travel planned until November. But lots of doctor appointments for DM, myself and DH. Hoping I can normalize a schedule around all of that. I suspect some appointments will result in more appointments. Hoping to spend today and tomorrow getting some things in place at home to support this ever elusive schedule.
