Next weekend I am going to a state convention. I'll only be gone for 2 full days and 2 half days, but it has been so hot, and my AC is running constantly that I decided I'd like someone to drop by to check on my kitties. Back in March, a woman who works at the animal sanctuary I volunteer at came to take care of them for a week when I went on vacation. For the previous 3-4 weeks, I'd been down HARD with a bad case of the flu. I tried to clean as much as I could (with bad plumbing), but there was just so much I could accomplish while still trying to regain my energy after the flu. I felt awful about her seeing my place in the state it was in, but I left her a note claiming I had not cleaned at all due to being so sick, as opposed to having spent about 12 hours trying to clean as much as I could (taking a few breaks). She never said anything to me about how the house looked. Now I have asked her to come back and check on my babies next weekend, and I feel like it's my chance to show her I really wasn't that bad!!! ! (even though I really WAS!) So, my job this weekend is to get everything put back away from where I had to pull everything out for the plumber, and maintain the areas I have been working on. The reason it is not all put away already is that it was not working for me as it was, so I am trying to reorganize the cabinets and closets and such rather than just stuffing everything back where it was. I started with the utility room, and am working on the kitchen this week. This weekend, I should have most of that done, and can focus on improving things. I don't do that much on the weeknights, but I try to pick up a few things every time I leave the room, and at least wash a couple dishes. It adds up. Then, I tackle a project on the weekend. This weekend I will finish the kitchen/dining room, and hopefully the second living room as well. Then I will be able to go have a fun weekend at the convention and not worry about what she is thinking!

This is all I can manage most weeknights, but it makes the weekend chores seem a little less overwhelming. I hope you enjoy the convention!
