Glad to see you back Creativechaos! Sorry to hear about your dental issues yeah, BTDT myself! It was to the point where I had mouth pain every single day. If it wasn't a tooth bothering me it was a cold sore inside my mouth, etc....I was and still am grateful that I had all but 6 teeth pulled (even if I do hate my dentures!!). At least now I only get the occasional cold sore and I can deal with that! I hope you are still warm today!! Good for you on getting all that stuff done already! Every little bit helps doesn't it?

CC, while I am sitting in my chilly house on this dreary cold day and reading your post about washing the dishes, I can almost feel the warmth rising from that nice hot, sudsy dishwater, smell the nice clean fragrance from the dishwashing soap, and see the shiny clean dishes as you rinse them and put them to dry. Almost makes me want to go wash my dishes.
Puppybox, I am using your suggestion to pick a color, object or material, and clear things that way for a while. Thanks.

thanks puppybox, heylady1, and dayeanu. you have some great ideas for games, puppybox. i love games! i like to count, so i use my ocd to count; hang up 10 items of clothes, put away 5 pairs of shoes, sort 5 pieces of paper. works for me, tiny little steps. update; the place is still a squalorous mess, but i am down to a level 2 in the kitchen, i finally caught up with the dishes, and have one sink and the counter cleaned and cleared, and am trying to keep it that way; takes constant vigilance. yes, i love to have my hands in some nice hot soapy water. i'm a gardener in warmer weather, and dishwashing gets my fingernails clean too! whatever works is good! i like your idea puppybox that if demand resistance comes up, i pick another thing to do. i use this a lot to get other tasks done when i am avoiding something else (like gluing and assembling 36 calendars or framing an art show). i get my best cleaning done during these times. so i am really observing the correlation with letting tasks slide and squalor; really trying to connect the dots on this one. a lifetime of being slovenly and not "seeing" the mess is where i'm coming from. with this group and with listzilla i feel hope. thanks all for being here; together we can do it!

Good job so far! I enjoy washing the dishes some days too. You are making progress. Keep going. I think I will use the color or shape idea to get the little one moving on days he is being obstinate on helping. Make it a game for both of us. You are so right,
