Hi everyone Since my last post
Went to gym at lunch
Had a three hour meeting!! It was actually good for me -I have to get up to speed on a new thing and this was my chance to ask questions. So I did a deep dive and soaked up a lot of information
On the way home from work, I stopped at posh grocery and bought some ready to serve things for dinner, not fast food, but good stuff. And a dessert treat for dd. Just had to make a salad and we had a nice, healthy meal
Then I took a long break! Now I must move: Dishes/litter/laundry and other stuff. I want to get moving. I don’t like to sit around too much, and that is what I have been doing —on the other hand, I don’t feel like getting up?!!!

Washed dishes Purged refrigerator Noticed a spill behind the inside produce drawer. Pulled out two bottom drawers- something sticky like maple syrup no ideas how it spilled. No trace of origin of spill. Filled bowl with hot and soapy water. Scrubbed sticky mess into oblivion! Put fresh water in cat dishes Moved wash to dryer Started new load- a big comforter that one of the cats was sick on Keep moving!

Oust, I'm glad your hands are doing okay.
I've been working on the last project in the plant room, and although there are still two things in the room that I have to get out of there, I'm considering the work in that room to be finished.
I have to mention a little thing that illustrates why these plants are so much fun for me. I have a kalanchoe plant that is called "mother of thousands" because the plant produces little babies along the edges of the leaf, it's really fascinating. Several weeks ago I took a few of the little babies and put them in a 2 inch, tiny pot. Well, today I noticed that one of the baby plants in the little pot, which is now 1/2 inch across and 3/4 inch tall and has 4 tiny leaves--has 3 little babies on one leaf. The babies are the size of a flea, I wouldn't have even noticed them if I didn't examine these plants so carefully every day. I had no idea a baby plant could have babies--I've never seen anything so cute (well, as far as plant life goes) in my life.
I still have not had dinner, and I'm determined to have something healthy, so I will be up late tonight.

what a cool plant! I've learned about two living things I didn't know about before today.
I am tired, but still need to work. wonder if I should try to take a nap, or push on. have reported ad nauseum elsewhere.

Scholar, you are having the busiest day you've had in a while! You might have to wait and sleep later on!
I had a nice healthy dinner, did my night time routine, watched some news but turned it off because everything is so depressing.
I wrote an introductory volunteer letter to my new ChemoAngels patient, I'm so happy they matched me with someone this time who loves animals--it's so much easier to write to someone who does.
I just have to serve the cats their last meal of the night, and I will get to bed, way too late.
Good night, see you all in the morning!

Oh, and speaking of interesting living things, I forgot to say that I did look up dragonflies, and they apparently only eat things they catch while flying and diving, so they may have run across a swarm of insects when I saw them all in the same place the other day. It also says they're territorial, so they fly around the area they consider "theirs" to show that they're in charge. That still doesn't tell me why there was a big group of them together in a place where I rarely see even one of them, though. Diane

Dragonflies are fierce! My theory is this is where Lucas got the idea for the X-wing fighter design in Star Wars. And I've always only seen them in groups, but that was in their water-based habitat, fighting over their patch.
Last night I had a nap, and then got up and did two projects, moving some items and consolidating some binders. Then I went back to bed pretty promptly, now I am up early, on GA time I guess. I want to run out and buy creamer for the brunch at the 7-eleven. DM doesn't think she needs to serve coffee, just iced tea, but she is not a coffee drinker. I would be really bummed if I came to brunch and there was no coffee! So I am taking matters into my own hands, !
Then on to The Great Sorting...

mylittlescholar.......I don't think it is "learned helplessness" with DH as much as I am choosing my battles. All we need to do is grab a 5x7 carpet from another room to drag the tub downstairs. Or, horrors, hire some abled bodies workers to carry it down! DH is facing some severe physical challenges this week that are wearing on his physical health and metal state of mind. He is slowly starting to realize he cant always be superman and do it all himself - he is getting older - and time to step back and take care of himself! He has nothing to prove anymore. He has proven himself. I forgot I had a meeting after work that stretched til after 7pm. So I cheated and ran to a local restaurant and grabbed some to go food. hubby and I shared one (he was so tired he couldn't eat his usual ginormous amounts) and the other will be lunches. which of course I forgot to bring because I washed the dishes last night then found my lunch Tupperware dish AFTER I had drained the sink. I knew I would never wash it this am. I did throw in a load of laundry last night and hung it out this morning. And I did manage to get Cali to Doggie Day Care today. She loves being around the other dogs and she has so much energy to burn. Tonight: Garbage out for weds am pickup Make a meal for hubby lunches. two casserole dishes to be washed (and my lunch container). I washed a smaller casserole dish last night. that sounds very wise, ohblondie! its tough for men when they just can't do what they used to.
I came up with a brilliant idea... I brought everything I needed to sort though upstairs. The volume is not that much, it all fits on half of a queen bed. I also raided the garage for some things I can sort into. So now the tables are cleared, and I can relax.
I also folded DB's towels, brought down DM's paintings, sealed DF's box and put it in the garage. Since I was up at 4:00 am, I think I'll take a nap!

Good morning!
I have mid-day work in about an hour and a half. I've been trying to come up with a plan to work in the rest of my apartment--partly for swampy's challenge thread, partly for the 2 month challenge. Seeing how wonderful the plant room looks makes me want to do the same for the other rooms--of course, as I do each room I would have to get rid of more and more since there will be fewer rooms left to store anything I take out of the room I was working in...
I've always only seen them in groups
That's interesting, scholar. I didn't read anything about their social habits, I will read more.
Ohblondie, I hope you can talk your husband into getting rid of the carpeting--hiring some help to carry the tub sounds like the best idea to me (if and when it actually needs to come downstairs). I hate carpeting...
TO DO:
Clean up from breakfast Scoop litter pans Wash cat food dishes Water sunporch hanging plants

I'm off to work soon. A new customer with a beautiful 3400sf home. Over an acre too.
Enjoyed my couple days rest I need to make a plan for this week. I hope to donate again. I just had a letter from the homeless shelter with a website for a list of needed things. Goodwill used to get everything. They had thousands of $ worth from us.

Good morning oust! I always think homeless shelters are a good donation site--I can't imagine how awful it must be to not have a place to live.
I still have to get my bag ready and then it'll be time to leave for my walks. It's very grey outside but they say there's only a 5% chance of rain--hopefully it will stay dry.
See you all later!

welp I did not set an alarm (last night DF said he was gonna wake me at 9:00 to help him put up the tent) and I kept dozing until 10:00! That was actually really nice to be able to do. The first guest has arrived (early, as DM warned me was likely to happen) and I am still in my jammies. Honestly I don't really feel like participating, mostly because of the food temptation, but partly because I am having an introvert attack. And wouldn't you know it, someone is shredding a tree in the cul-de-sac.
I guess I'll get ready...

I meant to add earlier - I went to church on Sunday and the woman teaching me how to crochet looked at my work (three or four rows worth) and realized that while I cast on the 134 stitches to start - it was not three feet wide so it would be too small for a lap robe/prayer shawl when I finished. So I am going to rip it out and start over. I have started over so many times though - that the yarn is splitting. So I am going to rip it out, take the yarn and make a ball from the skein, then start over using the other end of the yarn in the skein. I hope I eventually get better - I would think after all of this "practice" I would be!
Remarkably this s still a stress free project!

it's heavenly to wake up to 68 degrees in the morning/ We will be in the high 80s this week in the afternoon and might slip back into the 90s again next week but hopefully won'at see 100 again until next summer (fingers crossed).
Been up since 530 working outside; got some fence wired up to the posts. Got a end post braced. Have 2 more sections to put posts into. made a run for another roll of fence and a stock panel to use as a temporary gate going down into the creek. Still have to set gate posts for the driveway gates and get them all set up.
But I'm tired out so think i will lay down awhile. it's just warm enough to be too hot to work in the sun now.
