Good morning! I am home all day today again.
I'm booked every day for 3 weeks since returning.
Wow oust! You're in demand!
I'm eating breakfast and figuring out what I can do in the LR again since it'll be another interesting day of testimony.

OK - we did get back from the ER about 8-8:30 (we stopped for Chinese food on the way home - DS wanted wonton soup). He has infected tonsils/throat. The entire area was all pockets of pus. (It is so gross just saying it). He wasn't feeling much better today but he is safely in bed sleeping. I guess no matter how old they are, we still want to protect them and they always want their mama when they are sick.
So by the time We got home and I got him back in bed with his soup and juice - all I wanted to do was eat my tofu and broccoli and go to bed.
Tonight I will do the dishes and defend the kitchen.

ohblondie I hope your son is feeling better quickly! Sore throat with infection is no fun! At least he has meds now. Diane I read back a little and saw where you mentioned you would rather declutter than clean. I am the same!! I got a our living area and even kitchen/dining pretty presentable Tuesday eve/Wednesday am. Had an appointment here in the house that day. I even cleaned our MASTER bathroom the other day. But the other one is the one I hate going in -- primarily used by the kids. Wouldn't you know it this lady asked to use the bathroom. They NEVER DO!! She's still young though so I am guessing she hasn't built up that good bladder control. I know if we are going to have therapists in the house in a couple months, that is something that will have to be done. BUT ... I wasn't expecting it this week. Today is day #1 of my 6 day stretch of work. That was my oopsie when I swapped a day this week and a day next week with my co-worker. On the plus side, she is getting 6 days off in a row for helping me out. I came up with a BIG plan of moving many things/rooms in the house and now my husband is all fired up! He went and bought 2 new shelving units last night. I need to get my desk mostly packed up (really just the junk on top and he'll take apart the computer) so he can move it after work tonight. Our house is too small for the 5 people in it. Only 3 bedrooms. My son has sleeping issues --- anything we have tried, he has not slept in a bed outside of the master bed with me. We tried multiple configurations in E's room (tried to make it "theirs") over the years -- bunk beds, double bed, 2 twins. He always ends up with me. About a year ago, we got rid of old furniture in our family room since it was essentially his play room with all his toys and put a twin bed in there. I don't blame him for now wanting to sleep in that room though. It has 2 openings into the kitchen and then one to the hall. It's a very open space. My husband sleeps in there now and has for months because he got tired of getting kicked out of the king size bed in the middle of the night. We upgraded it to a double, still thinking J might sleep in there and have someone lay down with him to start. It is a no go. So although it is not my dream situation, we are giving J the whole master bedroom. He scatters toys and junk all over it anyway. So all his toys are moving in there. His desk was moved in and the treadmill put out to the garage (not being used much anyway.) The bad thing is our closet is in the master bathroom so he still has to share that. We had been talking since February to actually build walls in the family room and close it off from the kitchen to make a 4th bedroom. My dad had said he could do it pretty cheap. And then we found out about his health problems. So that's not going to happen anytime soon. Husband put the big shelf in the room so it would give sort of a wall to block off most of the hallway access. If you look at Ikea and look at the Kallax series they are 5 cubbies by 5 cubbies -- about 72 inches tall and long I think. So we got a 2nd to block off the area into the dining part of the kitchen. This is going to give me a ton more storage. But I want the dining room table moved where my desk (and J's was) in the room attached to the living room. This is supposed to be the dining space. And then my desk is going into the space where the dining was. We also agreed that the family room (new master space/office space as it has my husband's desk in there) needs to be painted. It is the only room outside of the master bathroom that has not been painted since we moved in. So it has this ugly brown that makes the room really dark. We had chose that to use in all the main living spaces. It is going to be a lot of work!! And I decided on this right around the holidays. SMART, huh? !! But my ultimate goal is to start moving out of the bed with J after he falls asleep. And then eventually get to the point where he goes to bed on his own. This is something the gal who did the initial visit on Wed said that we could have a therapist working on with him down the road --- bedtime. Phew! didn't mean to write a book!

Good morning Angie! Sounds like you have a lot of work ahead of you to move everything around--and now you have a 6-day work week--probably right when you want to work on the rearranging. I hope you can get a little bit done each day so you feel like you're making progress.

MamaAngie My parents didn't have a downstairs bedroom in their house. Actually they sort of did but it was about the size of a walk in closet. So they converted their "dining room" into their master. They never walled it off. DM said it made her clean it up daily. It worked out for them. It was off of the living room which was rarely used for entertaining - they mostly visited and hung out in the family room. Bottom line: whatever works - it is your house and your family dynamic and sometimes the rooms aren't where you need them to be so you have to create your own.

Good morning everypony!
magda , kitty went back to the vet to get the same wound stitched up. They like to try and let them stay open and heal from the inside out, but he kept scratching it, and may have an underlying issue that kept it from closing up--will be testing him for that.
That sounds like an excellent plan, MamaAngie ! I have bought two Expidits (predecessors to the lumber-saving Kallax), both a 5x5 and a 4x4, and discovered that the Target bins fit perfectly inside of them. LOVE THEM!!!
DM just texted me she needs some IT help, so bbl...

dtesposito - hubby will get things rolling after work today. He has Saturday and Sunday off. And then the next week his 6 day work weeks start and go all the way through Dec 21st. Seems I get my crazy ideas at the wrong time. And once they leave my head and are spoken outloud, my hubby is ready to do it! !! Thankfully he does all the heavy lifting. He moved the last sofa (really just a junk collector out of the family room last night into the garage. It was supposed to be donated/trashed/whatever months ago when we got rid of it's mate. He plans to paint that room this weekend. My plans will definitely take time. That sounds like an excellent plan, MamaAngie! I have bought two Expidits (predecessors to the lumber-saving Kallax), both a 5x5 and a 4x4, and discovered that the Target bins fit perfectly inside of them. LOVE THEM!!!mylittlescholar we actually got the 4 x 4 Kallax for J's room. I told hubby the 5 x 5 is too tall. We bought that one several years back when the bunk beds were in E's room and we were trying to put 2 kids and all their stuff in one small room. Good to know that Target has bins to fit. Target is just a mile down the road from my house. Ikea is actually not too far from us though, just across the river into Portland. But I can not physically walk/shop that store currently -- not with my knees. Anything I want, hubby has to get. They have a lot of options there .... the canvas bins for $4 and then some other options. As money permits, I want to add a few of the cabinet inserts (we have those in 4 of our cubbies in our living room. Living room has a whole set of them ... 2 x 8 on it's side under TV, 1 x 4 tall side up on each side of that and then 2 x 2's on each end of those for all our books, movies, etc.) I really love them!! I really like the wicker basket inserts too and think those will work nice in a couple that will be facing into the previous dining space. I will have my desk in there and one 2 x 2 Kallax that has canvas bins and stores all my stuff. But then I can get rid of a smaller dumpy shelf in the kitchen and just use the Kallax cubbies and hopefully bins as we go to organize/hide some of the stuff. It was off of the living room which was rarely used for entertaining - they mostly visited and hung out in the family room. Bottom line: whatever works - it is your house and your family dynamic and sometimes the rooms aren't where you need them to be so you have to create your ownphoenixcat you are so right. It's our house and family. And we have to make it work for us! I just feel that our son is lost ... no place to really call his own. Of course so are hubby and I! !! If I could say put the 2 girls together, I would. But realistically that just won't work with K's bedtime issues and potty issues. If someone doesn't come in and check on her and she's poo'd in the night, she will throw it on the floor rather than asking for help or getting up and changing her pullup. I am hoping this will work down the road getting our son to sleep alone. My husband says all the time, "I miss my wife." Well yes I do too. But then there will be new challenges. Instead of getting kicked in the back, side, head, legs, butt by my son. I will have a snoring husband. And then I will be in the part of the house where the cats run wild. haha!! Oh and the glorious litter boxes sit on the other side of this shelving unit.
