Have been cleaning the toilet bowl each week. Today was extra-clean! Cleaned the sink, too.
Expanding Areas of Maintenance.

Hi NewLifeToday! Glad to see you around! I have today off for chores, then leaving on Fri morning for a long weekend at my sister's place. Lots of driving, home late Monday night. Then a job interview on Tuesday morning, and then right back to work on Tuesday afternoon! So I hope to not only get packed today, but get laundry and housework done to start off next week right too. Though DS is staying home so I highly doubt housework will stay done! I also plan on making a double batch of cookies to take with and leave for DS. TaDa: Up before 10:00am (I work second shift normally, so this is EARLY!) Dressed to shoes Load one in washer Unload dishwasher Reload dishwasher Pull butter out of fridge to soften for cookies Run DS to work Wash car Clean out car ToDo: Run to pet store (forgot to do this while out, so might get nixed.) Wash inside of car windows Find back pack Freeze water bottles Clean off island Swap laundry Fold laundry Put away laundry Make cookies Pack clothes Pack toiletries

skatters You are doing a great deal. Thanks for the inspiration! In my endeavor to do some things beyond DDD, trash/recycling, and pay bills, my tiny steps of late: cleaned back of toilet cleaned part of bathroom counter PUPA, moving some things to a better place. The goal is PEEP and a consistent cleaning schedule.

I have taken many sizes of steps recently, and in various quantities. Tossed a bag of books today, and some food, and more papers. Gave away a typewriter this week, and some construction paper. Keep going. Just keep on going, it makes progress.

The last few mornings I am working my way through 10 office file sized boxes of family photos. I am down to 4 boxes and have two large sacks of tossed photos. Looking at photos of my mother on her numerous travel and camping adventures it was like we were together again. This morning I felt like I could pick up the phone and talk to her. She has been gone 28 years. This photo project has resulted in comfort rather than the sadness I originally feared.

gaylem, I am glad you found comfort rather than sadness in the photographs of your mother. I lost my mom a couple of years ago now, and still struggle to find the comfort rather than sadness. Glad to know there's hope! NewLifeToday - glad to see you're still progressing!! I've been on the strugglebus lately. The house and my mood have backslided (backslid?). I could go into all the reasons why - but it's not important. Things this weekend are a bit better, but still haven't tackled the house at all. I did come up with 3 meals to cook this week, since I have not cooked one bit in 3 weeks. AND OMG - WHAT IS THAT SMELL?!? I am going to work in WITs style today. Just take things as they come. TaDa: Got dressed and caffeinated Ran to grocery store Sorted laundry Put 1st load in washer Swap laundry Load dishwasher (potential source of the smell #1) Change out kitty litter boxes (potential source of the smell #2) Picked up 6 things from my nest area Folded laundry from the dryer Take yarn boxes back out to the garage Work 10 minutes in the kitchen Take meds Found rotten sweet potato (likely source of the smell #3) Fold dark laundry ToDo: Shower (potential source of the smell #4!) Throw towels in washer

skatters gaylem Hope you are doing very well. Moved some storage structures around in the kitchen for better AC air flow. Wiped down part of wall. Wiped off parts of table and shelving. Cleaned parts of floor several times. Inching along again. Things to do while not sleeping....

NewLifeToday I also am inching along. Have had unexpected health setbacks this month. Despite this the small steps I do accomplish have helped my comfort level. I defend the surfaces I have cleared. I do manage despite fatigue to do all dishes in the sinks from the day's food prep. This makes the next morning more comfortable. I soaked some wood trim around the formica counter backsplash with cleaner and toothbrush scrubbed the grime out. Only took 20 minutes. Makes doing dishes much more pleasant without looking at the 5 years worth of grime. The backsplash and counter are cheap, damaged and worn but still I feel better knowing they are "better" with my cleaning.

gaylem I am sorry about the health challenges. I hope you are finding solutions. Congrats on your dishes maintenance and toothbrush cleaning. I often use a toothbrush and baking soda, or Borax, or Bon Ami.
