sidestep: - 3.5 Hrs. YardWork (8:30-12p.m.): WOW WOW WOW!! good for you I have the wild west prairie weed takeover in the back steep slope..it now needs a 'brush hog' moving sapling and shrub chewer, not a power weed whacker my yard guys have.. Remember that pretty walk thru the tall grass from Gladiator, hands brushing the sweet grasses of home??? and all the commercials that mimic it?? ..well 3 yards into MY back slope you'd be pulled down by vines, scratched by stinging nettle, choked by mustard pollen AND the ticks would bite you from the ankles up I fear.... I am hesitant to call him, but something has to be done, the 5' mustard is podding, and the tall grasses are red tassels on top.. this is a lose-lose for me..as much as I love nature we had never been able to keep any control, and last year I spent a ton of time and money on clearing and hauling so much!!! the buggies and birds, butterflies had their fill...now to prevent possible fire due to dry stalks everywhere.

H2H, I'm very glad I have no experience with those force-to-be-reckoned-with plants! They sound brutal! Good luck with that wild prarie & brush hog to reduce fire danger. I'm glad no yellow jackets stung me as it appears they have built a nest in my ixora & they were flying out! L.E.: mouseanne, my energy is lagging atm, so if you need to jump off to a more active thread for motivation, feel free & good luck with your accomplishments!

Good job everyone! Tiny steps is leading to huge progress! mouseanne... I wasn't upset at all by your comments! They're funny! I had a large upset with a family member that drained all of me. I am trying to bounce back... But it might take a bit. I'll try to keep posting here.

sidestep: Seated Trimmed CourtYard Jasmine & Grass-- (3.5 Hrs.) 7:45-11:15a.m. Does this mean you sat down and whacked away?I discovered an easy way for me to use the electric weed whacker longer and that was to attach a DOG LEASH to the big plastic handle, it loops over my left shoulder, which takes ALL the weight and let's me just direct the whacking with my hands and arms. I don't have the strength to hold it and use it at the same time for very long. I discovered last night two big bunches of wild weeds are very small headed white daises on 2' stalks hat to pull them but will pull around them and let them be to see if they get more or bigger flowers. I have a very easy to seed Cotoneaster ?? it has dark green leaves and red berries in Winter..it roots fast, and long skinny tap root, so pulling while small is best. So I will sit on my little rolling stool and scoot around as best i can on semi-barked yard. ( I SWEAR I am designing a motorized mini wheelie stool ..like this 1980s ERGONOMIC seats that had you kneeling on a bottom padded rail, and sitting with NO back on the 'chair'. I want to put big whiles(have them and mount a magic motor so I can LEAN on a padded chest rail, and not wreck my back from BENDING OVER ..and a little toggle for going forward, I can't do the engine, but I want this so bad. with 74 MILLION aging boomers here in the US someone needs to invent these 'garden aids' for 'elder-gardening'.. hear, hear!!! The pic is of the redwood tree cutoffs that I salvaged, they weight 200 lbs each when fresh and full of water, after curing in the sone they were even moveable by me! Now they are stepping slabs in the back yard. This is the cherry tree in fron where all the weeds are growing under, and I HAVE to sit as my head would be in the low beaches if I stand. Attachments:

H2H, I sit on a rolling convertible hand cart & scoot myself around. It puts me about the height of lawn mower wheels, but that doesn't hurt my back when weeding. I dig out the root with an old 2 -pronged meat fork as that is much more useful than the weeder tool. For clipping the grass I am using hand grass clippers. So, yes, it takes me a long time, but it doesn't hurt my back. Weed whippers have always hurt my back even using one of those necklace leash things to help bear the weight, 'cuz of the vibration & the shafts are too long for me. I am able to use the handle of the hand cart & that ledge to help get myself up & down, along with that "semi-split" to help get me down. Cool redwood slab gardening pic!

sidestep. I bet if I look in a catalog online I'd see the right rolling seat cart!! need to make an effort.... I tend to want to make things myself.. years ago friends gave me a wee plastic wheels pull along Cart with a cord, the top opened to hold tools, and I was just too heavy and hard on it- for a cheap Chinese made plastic thing that was 'cute', and not at all built for long term REAL use... I felt bad when one wheel fell off (not from me, but cheap as I said, and I kept it for years so my friends would not feel bad, I just sat on it in ONE spot and didnt move around!! no way to even glue the wheel back on. anyway rain got in the bin part, rusted whatever I had, so finally they moved to CO and I got rid of it to hard plastic waste disposal. I NOW try to buy the best I can if I KNOW how much I will use it. I DO have quality hand clipper/shears, and a blue titanium lopper, and a big limb lopper I can barely squeeze, but they work!! the redwood LOOKED best in the 'sun curing' pic, now they are brown-grey and not as pretty!

H2H, I have one of those lawn buddies. The height was entirely too high to sit & weed from & it cracked when I stood on it to wash the top of my car. This handcart is Frankensteined. I've replaced 2 wheels & U-bolted new ones on, & I've also taken it to an auto body place to get the bottom bar rewelded. I explained the emotional attachment since it was my Dad's. I also told him it gets frequent use since I use it as a weed seat. Also, if I've used lawn bags I use it as a cart to drag the bags to the curb. I've replaced the wood 2x, & have new wood waiting to be prepped. Usually I hang a multi-pocketed deep canvas apron on it to hold my garden tools, but that needs replacing too. L.E. Also, I've priced them, & getting that repaired was only ~ 1/3 of the cost of a new one. SCORE!

sidestep i FOUND different designs .. all are still too tall for shorty me. but the 3 legged one had 100 reports on how GOOD it is BUT heavy it is, the tool bag is impossible to reach (under your thighs while seated, and other issues, BUT it gave me ideas for it i want to buy it anyway and adapt it.
AND they BOTH have many reports on NO screw holes are right in some places, or you need a huge Phillips that does not exist in the USA. so making these in China, India means you HAVE to assemble them and it is NOT easy.
i LIKE the farm seat with handles to help get up, I hate ones that had a hard long handle, these have a rope.
there is a bungee holder for a 5 ga bucket on back, you can guide the 3 wheeler, and the seat swivels. i DO NOT like or need 4 big wheels, that makes if iffy for me to get on and off without falling as my R leg is so weak and wonky muscle response. i lose my balance.
So I have ideas for what I might try.
one couple had an Ames buddy ( plastic cart with plastic wheels) and I'd break that thing in a minute!!
the red one is $89+
the 3 wheelie is $52.+ and trouble to assemble with regular tools, even MEN were utterly frustrated rather than enjoying the challenge.

H2H, sis gave me one that was similar. It is entirely too high, & it was too late to return it. Hers has 4 big inflatable wheels & even had a basket. I stopped trying to assemble it when I realized how it would not serve my purpose. I love my Frankensteined cart as it is perfect for me & I like that I've found a great multi-purpose for the dolly.
