Persistence: firm or obstinate continuance in a course of action in spite of difficulty or opposition.

I do not want to do anything this morning. I am physically well enough to get started, I just don't want to. Hence my choice of "persistence" to start our week. The difficulties and opposition are in my own mind. I find them much more difficult to get past than any outside force.
Central Florida had the equivalent of a normal summer storm from Isiasis. We are all fine.

Good Morning peaceseeker I am reluctantly up and at my desk working. I am waiting for the coffee to kick in. we had company last night and I did not get a walk in yesterday. so I am sluggish today and HIGHLY distractible. I have to go pick up a note at my mom's doctor's office this am. And return my glasses as they did not make the correct lenses. The other pair I ordered was wrong as well. I have been going there for years. What the heck people! I am happy the storm ended up being a normal storm. Rain is always welcomed but not the destruction. We had a tornado watch last night but nothing happened (thankfully). We never even got a storm. I have gathered up items to be returned to the store. I have to figure out how to print labels. I will do that when I have access to a printer tomorrow. OK - back to work

Good morning PS and ohblondie!
PS, thank you for starting the week off with a reminder of what we need to succeed! I'm glad the storm was just a storm.
I couldn't fall back to sleep after waking up at 2am to check on my sister, I was up for about 2 hours before sleeping--so after getting up at 6 for meds and her breakfast and dog care, I tried to go back to sleep. However, again, I couldn't sleep. I decided to just read for a while and finish my library book so I could return it when I go there later this morning.
Now I'm up, feeling tired and cranky, but I need to get moving.
I will have my own breakfast and then see how much time I have before going out.

Good morning lennon!
I did go to the library, I noticed this morning that the plant cutting that I'm going to get from there isn't ready yet, they will let me know when I can pick it up. But I had 3 books to return and one waiting for me so I decided to go, and afterwards I gave the dog a short walk.
Now I need to take a short rest and then will get working.

Well, after taking care of the dog and getting lunch for my sister, I ended up walking back to the library, because shortly after I got home they called and said my cutting was ready. It was so funny--I think the people at this library are desperate for people to use their services--it's always empty in there, and they act so pleased when you take out books or ask a question. I went there immediately after getting the call that it was ready, and there were two people sitting at the reference desk where I was supposed to pick it up. When I said I was picking up my plant cutting they both got huge smiles on their faces and said "oh, you're here already for a cutting!" Then a woman came out from the back saying "someone's here already for their cutting? Wow!"
Then they asked if they could take my photo... I apologized and said I'd rather they didn't, but then I said that if I could get the cutting to grow I would send them a photo of it growing--they got excited and said, "oh, please do, that would be great--the email address is on the instruction sheet in your kit!" So I thanked them profusely and said goodbye to 3 smiling women! I really hope this cutting grows!
Of course, now I have to rest again.

its funny, I sometimes feel like I have a lot of persistence with the Big Things, but the small things do me in.

Good evening everyone.
I was pet sitting and had a great time. One dog is really outta shape, I haven't been in 4 months. Lots of water and breaks but she got exercise!!
Noticed a wire burnt the kitchen floor. Touched it and got scalded. Turned off that socket. Pulled out every spaghetti wire, 50% were not even connected to anything!! Sorted all the wires out. Put 10 rolls in a box threw out the dangerous one(house fire anyone) slept better knowing it was all checked. Bot, no more on the floor, it's all clear...yay
Copied from the weekend thread, where I posted.....not with it, get a grip oust.

Good morning everyone! And good morning to all the kitties who are lurking behind the scenes, helping (in their own fashion)!
Bree, I sympathize on the purging, I know what it's like to get to the end of the easy stuff, and realize that now, the hard job begins. It sounds like you're figuring it out.
Oust, I don't quite get what you said about the wires--do you mean these were all wires plugged into one outlet and one was overheating? If so, good thing you noticed it early!
I slept a little later than usual this morning (6:45 instead of 6:00) because I was able to fall back to sleep quickly after my 2:00 alarm, so I took advantage of it. I'm still tired but probably less so than I would be without last night's good sleep. This morning we had a small grocery delivery order, they had everything but two items, so, not bad.
While waiting for the delivery I rearranged the plants on the front porch, and I also finished my book about fungi, Entangled Life. What an amazing book, I learned so much. And I was pleased to note that at the very end, the author described how he became interested in fungi and biology in the first place as a child--by raking up huge piles of leaves in his yard, which he would then play in for the rest of the fall and winter. He said he eventually noticed that the leaf piles got smaller and smaller, that they were breaking up, and he asked his father to explain what was going on. His father explained about all the microorganisms were causing the leaves to disintegrate and return back to the earth--COMPOSTING! And that's how he chose his life's study, which led to a PhD from Cambridge University!
TO DO:
Put groceries away Water 3rd room plants 10 minutes on plants 10 minutes on PEEPing
