Went thru green barrel bag from last hospital stay. It will remain a hospital "go" bag for overnights, if needed.
Removed bag of my clothes & put in my bedroom next to my bed... to be washed. (don't know if clean or dirty & had been missing those clothes).
Everything else remains in that bag.
Went thru black "go" bag.
1 paper put in recycle bag
Everything else remains in this bag.
Put items in box to take to ALF-Mem for parents -- 4 pkgs bed pads, 1 Desitin ointment, 1 toothpaste, 1 new pajamas for my Dad, late bday card from 1 of the Caregivers from Tennessee, box of kleenex (DH labeled them).
Changed into nicer shirt
Got check ready for Mom's ALF-Mem bill (already paid Dad's but was waiting for corrected invoices for Mom's).
Took all to ALf-Mem.
Had nice long visit with my parents 45 min-1 hr -- through the window. It was hot as heck outside. I think it was 100+ degrees. It didn't really bother me until the last 10 minutes. I couldn't leave sooner as I was waiting for caregiver/nurse or someone to take them back. Mom did not have her walker within her reach. And, they are both still high fall risks even with their walkers, now.
So, they looked good! Dad looks like his normal self (since last hospital stay in May). Both are happy, there. We sang a song or two. Dad didn't really want to hold the phone to talk to me, so couldn't really speak w/him much. I'm certain that he didn't understand why I couldn't come in. My Mom understands when I tell her (I don't use the terms pandemic or Covid -- I just refer to it as "Flu Season". Really bad Flu this year (i put my mask back on) & an extra long season. She understands & remembers what the Flu & Flu Season is and why I can't come in during Flu Season. She keeps asking over & over for me to come in & stay for a while, and why I can't come in? I answer, she understands... then a couple minutes later forgets & asks again. It's just peculiar to be just outside the window right where she is. I can understand her asking it over & over when the entrance is just a foot or two away.
Both are happy there & like the food. That makes me very happy!
They had been attending a "Smurf Party". I can see the activity room from the window & I could see the caregivers dancing, etc. Dad (who normally eats only pureed food-- had a slice of cake). The nurse came by & checked his blood sugar while I was there & held the result up to the window. A little high, but not enough for medication & she told me that he had just had a slice of cake.
Sent email to ALF-Mem Director/VP. She was going to order bed pads & put on our next bill. She responded that she had & received them. But, I didn't know & had bought 4 pkgs of disposable ones. They may or not be in parent's room, yet. (Back in October she had told me she was ordering & it never got done... I don't mind buying them if they would just let me know what brand & type as the ones they have are such good quality).
BTW, we already have waterproof mattress cover & mattress pads. These are the smaller pads that go on top of the sheets that she was ordering.
dtesposito If your sister wears disposable pullups or diapers & they work well, would you mind letting me know the brand, etc. as I may want to start supplying them instead of the ALF-Mem. There's are not good enough, really, and I heard they had changed recently to some that are even less quality than they had been using. We have the option to be on their program or supply our own. A PM would be greatly appreciated.
Anyone else know of types they'd recommend for adult man and/or woman would be appreciated! I need for parents overnight & for daytime.
Went to PO Box -- nothing there, Hmmm. Need to call, again. Grrr.
Went to grocery store for a few items -- had trouble finding a couple of the items so spent waay too long there.
On the way back, my DrBro called me. He is very sick (ER Dr) & just got himself checked out at his ER.
Covid Pneumonia. Was able to drive himself back home.
He's had 3 negative tests over the last week (a few days before Wed., 1 on Wed, & 1 on Fri). They did a 4th one this evening- (+). I am very worried about him.
Please pray for all caregivers/medical workers/Drs/Nurses.
Came home & made Pasta with sauce. Also, a salad.
Dieted successfully.
Had all meds today.
Only 4 waters today.
