Best wishes finding a new doctor, Diane. In Canada, while we have universal medical care, it can be very hard to find a permanent doctor. My doctor of 35 years retired and I have been "unattached" as they call it, ever since. I use a walk-in clinic but that's not a very good option at this stage of life.
The timer worked! I set it for 30 minutes to begin tackling the paperwork pile. Got through all the receipts and loose papers and they're in stacks by category. I was able to throw out 55 papers, mostly receipts. Ripped them up and out in the recycling bin. I feel so much lighter. It's not done or under control by any means, but I have a very good start on things. To quote another SOOS member, "Onwards!"
Edited to add: it actually took 45 minutes, plus another 5 for disposing of the receipts properly. As happens often, the timer goes and I'm into it, and can easily do more time to my original plan. The problem is starting. :-)

Thanks itsy! I'm glad you got a start on your paper, once you start it doesn't seem quite as bad!
I got dinner for my sister and am eating my own dinner now.
Next:
Finish dinner Clean up from dinner Wash some dishes Feed birds

I ran home and ran another load of clothes from the basement through the washer. I tried to go thru some boxes but got too distracted I vacuumed the heck out of another section of floor I took out some cardboard and a ruined shoe box Bagged up recycling Found a pair of clippers and trimmed back some bushes. A big garbage can full of branches. Brought a chair home for my dad and a new cushion for him My DDs dog is at the house and the two dogs are cavorting around My chewy order came and I will use that for my son's clothes in the basement. I didn't take time tonight to fold them but I dumped them in the box
Ok. Time for bed for me. I hope I sleep as well tonight as I did last night 😸

Ohblondie, you're getting a lot done considering that you're responsible for your parents now and still working full time. I wish you continued energy to keep up this pace!
Everyone is now taken care of for the evening, I'm going to take a shower and then get to bed. Tomorrow will be busy with the grocery order, lawn care people and gutter cleaning people. I'll have to walk the dog instead of letting her out in the yard because there will be people leaving gates open.
Good night everyone, see you in the morning!
Diane
