Hello everyone👋 I used to be a rather active member at this forum like 5 years ago, and partly thanks to this forum and thanks to having motivation, I managed to overcome my problem with hoarding. Temporarily...
The last 14 months this problem has come back to haunt me, my motivation decreased, so I'm unfortunately back.🤦♀️
I am 40 years old. I live alone with my dog. I live in Europe, English is not my native language, but my "second language" because my partner (we don't live together) is anglophone.
I am a "collector", I sell items on eBay for a full-time living (it pays my rent, food++). But, I do realize that I hoard unnecessary items too, and I would really really like to stop that... I managed to stop 5 years ago, so I am optimistic that I might be able to stop again. I am thinking "I can do this", at the same time as I know it will take a lot of work, I am 14 months behind with housework/organization of my "hoard. I have not been able to let my partner into my apartment the last 13 months. (We live in different cities..a flight apart.) I feel a lot of shame, and paralyzing feelings of being extremely overwhelmed. And I feel very, very tired. 😕

Welcome back! Every action, no matter how small, helps to control the clutter and get closer to maintenance.

hi eurolady, and welcome back... funny, i was just thinking of starting an ebay shop with some of my hoard... but i know the drill... love to shop and so...
WTG on managing to sell full time on ebay and NOT hoard excess stuff for a time - for actually stopping with getting excess! It would be fascinating to know how you did that. If you did it once, you can do it again - so glad you decided to return to us. I fully understand the shame of hoarding... you have a lot of courage, and knew where to come to get free again.
I'll be following along on your journey.
