Ta-da: Scooped. I can be impulsive and like instant gratification. I have been watching a youtube channel of a Swedish woman about my age, who lives a minimalist lifestyle. I am intrigued by these people (minimalists) and their mysterious ways of living ....anyway..I found out about the "minimalist challenge," where you declutter/discard 465 items over the course of 30 days; day one = throw out one item, day two = throw out two items and so on. So then I found a gal who did it all in one day! This was someone who already was quite organized and owned a relatively small amount of items. These people were able to find 465 things to declutter, so I thought, hey, I can do this, too! It is hard, because I really don't *want* to throw out anything, but something about this particular challenge grabbed my interest, so... I've discarded 55 items very easily. Lots of amnesty and also I count a piece of trash or even a trash bag as an item. It got me moving a bit and I did toss some things like 2 old sets of hot curlers. It will get more challenging but I want to see "if" I can follow through and how quickly I can complete the challenge. To-do: I'm on "day 11" so find 11 items to de-clutter. I'm going to designate a donation area with a few boxes/bags in my porch, because I know I have things that I've avoided making decisions on but will want to donate. I know it's not working in threes, but the way I look at it, whatever works. I'm usually working in ones or 7s or not working anyway!

Sweetsunshower you're doing AMAZING!!! I watched a video yesterday of a woman who decluttered every day for 45 days, and I was shocked at how easy it was for her, even though her house was pretty minimal already. That said, I could probably find 45 pens to discard let alone any other category!!
Time for me to get to work:

meds bed wash jeans hang jeans fold washcloths fold towels dejunk and clean sofa try to figure out a way to make a Christmas display amongst all the junk get shot down on first suggestion now my options involve eating an elephant, rear end first give cat new bedding and clean food and water dishes sort one box - aggressively perhaps fill one trunk load for Habitat? (ambitious) charge hand vac, because it was unplugged all this time sweep under sofa (half done because I can't slide it, must lift it) eat lunch

Apparently 3 pm is too late in the day for green tea. Another big hole in my sleep... Gotta keep tweaking. Had breakfast, then nap, then lunch. Started dishes soaking. Spent five minutes thinking and planning my project approach. Make bed, take meds.
Spend 5-10 minutes reorienting myself to my most important project. Read all the doctors' emails I've been ignoring.
Decide on and order a new mop.
