gelberosen you can also check out YouTube for how to clean videos. Even ones like How to Sweep a Floor, How to clean a bathroom, How to mop.....we just assume people know how to do these things. But if you were never taught, then you never learned. I think you now have hundreds of moms and grandmothers on this board who want to help you!!

Way to go gelberosen for making the first step and posting this. I'd like to make a helpful suggestion to get you started. When I first started on this board, I took the smallest room in my home -the bathroom- in my case and I emptied it. Then I scrubbed it clean. After all this it became a source of inspiration for me. I would then go back and polish the mirror and the bathroom fixtures to shine them. Add a candle and freshly laundered towels this place became something great! You deserve to have at least one place calming to relax...I hope you will try this. I think it is great that you cook yourself a good meal. Here's to a bright future for you!

You have friends here who understand and you would never be laughed at. I hope you can feel more comfortable and continue to come here. While each of our stories about our lives may be a little different, we still have this common bond which is very comforting to me to know that I'm not alone in the ongoing effort to clear the clutter, clean my living areas and here is where I can share and not feel embarrassed or ashamed. I think this place is so important for my mental strength to forge ahead and know that it will get better if I just continue to work at it. As for the schooling, I would think in these times you can have online classes to work on when you have time and when you are ready for it. That is a blessing to be able to do so. I feel bad also that your mom is giving you a hard time about not knowing how to clean. That is a learning process I would think, don't think we are born just knowing that and those links given to you should help. If you aren't shown how or watch it being done by others then how are you to know? I hope that she will just be glad of you making efforts to improve things for the both of you. Sounds to me like you are doing a good job of it and of taking care of her and your pets. Kudos to you for doing a great job there in taking on that responsibility as I know it can't be easy. I can relate to the wanting to cook. I have never been a cook. But it is something that I want to do and eat things that are not frozen ready made, but real tasty home cooked food. Oddly enough one of my favorite channels to watch is Food Network. I hope that maybe I am learning some things about cooking while watching it. But first I have to get my kitchen clean and cleared enough to be able to cook in it. One of my goals and something to look forward to and help inspire me! Glad you are able to do some cooking and have that sink now to use. Good going!
