I had been collecting books for donation, and had bagged and boxed them and had them right next to the front door during covid lockdown. This morning i took them out and loaded into the back of the car - 3 full red wagon loads. Hopefully within the week I'll drop them off at the donate site. No matter when, they are out-of-the-house!
Also, I filled the trash can for morning pick up. 90% was clutter. Of note were 3 dusty silk plants in baskets, and one rolled runner/rug.

A lanai chair is a patio chair in Hawaii. The chair was treated and had no issues. Only one leg was completely eaten up. I saved the other 3 legs as I have similar chairs for spare parts. Yes, it feels great!

Items went out in a 30 gal bag with weekly trash. 1)small containers of additives used in making lotions 2)non commercial soap molds and assorted empty containers 2)old soaping oils in quarts and partially filled gallon containers If I lived close to you, I'd want it all. Years ago I made some soap and it was fun. But in the end I produced more than I ever could use and ended up tossing a lot of that. Today is trash pick up. I filled the regular 32 gallon trash bin, including some egg cartons I was saving for a friend - who now has too many. And I also tossed a bag of pillow fluff that was new, but I'd never use. I also put out two full 98 gallon green waste cans that the workers filled last week. I also was able to get rid of more recycling and green waste by using the neighbors' not full containers. It felt good so much stuff going, even if it was 'just' greenery and recycling. //////////////////////`

Hi everyone! I’d like to join in. I’m not a new member by any means. I’ve just been absent for many years. I bumped the Acquisition Accountability thread because I have been compulsively acquiring since March 2020. I’m listing some of my de-acquisitions in that thread, but I’d also like to participate in this one for encouragement and support.
Tuesday, 5/18/2021 Gone:
1 standing fan 1 thick outdated handbook 1 of those scent thingies that hang from a rear view mirror. Been there for 2 years and dysfunctional for the majority of that time!

Out the door:
1 old, non-functional wired-in smoke alarm that had been replaced with a brand new one. I was keeping it because I felt bad for throwing it away. It was well over 20 years old and the plastic had yellowed and it didn’t work anymore.

I let 2 cedar chests and other sentimental items go with my daughter. They are not practical storage for my goal to live in a small condo. I am closer to a goal of minimalism.

Serendipity Thank you for welcoming me! Saturday, May 22, 2021 64 issues of 2012-2014 Science magazine - I listed these for free on a local site, thinking they might be of interest to HS students, if only for the photos. I kept them for months and months and there was no interest at all. It made me kinda sad, but I recycled them today. Gone!
