Welcome to the "Whatchamacallit" Thread -- kind of a weekly blog and/or list thread. Welcome! Feel free to join us here. There are no "rules". Post daily, weekly, or occasionally. Post your to-dos, or your ta-das, or a sentence or two ... or whatever works for you! You can be as chatty or as self-focused as you need to be. Some chattily exchange comments and support, and use this as a "group action blog". They enjoy the camaraderie. Others remain completely and quietly focused on ONLY their own tasks -- and seeming to ignore everyone else. They just need to stay focused on getting things done. Both approaches are fine here! This thread has no expectations that we come back and cheer each other on. This is a week-long thread. Members from DIFFERENT TIME ZONES can post TOGETHER on a single thread, without worrying if you are on the "correct" day's thread. We intentionally make each week's thread dated "Sunday through Sunday" so that you can post however/whenever you feel comfortable -- (and you have full permission to optionally post your "Sunday tasks" on more than one thread and claim double credit!) HOW to post: Any way you like! NOTE: Lists not required! This is NOT a "cookie-cutter" thread. Posts can have different styles. 🚃 The focus is action -- post however best works for you. All of us are in unique situations. Some work full/part time, some don't work outside the home, some work from home, some take care of other people, some are students, some have lots of kids, some are living alone and have themselves to take care of, some folks are depressed, have ADD/ADHD --- whatever the situation is. We all want to declutter/desqualor and/or maintain. Just do what might work for you. Some of us just know that we do better listing Ta-das, and seeing our Ta-das at the end of the day or week. Even if in baby steps... this shows us that we did do something and/or are working on it. Sometimes it can be surprising to see all you did in one day. Or sometimes, you may end your day but be able to say: "I may not have gotten much done today but I did do this ____." Motivation Follows Action! This thread can go hand-in-hand with other threads such as the WITs (Working in Threes) thread or the "Ten-Minute-Sessions" thread, etc. -- for those who may want to track their weekly accomplishments. Remember: Amnesty! It is not even required to come back and cheer each other on. No requirements at all !!! Have a great week, everyone! Together We Can!

Living with my parents and both are older and have medical issues so really trying to work on this house so we can either take over or have it cleaned and be able to move which is a serious task considering my parents have lived here almost 50 years. Making these lists really helps me focus and get things completed which I need now.

For the rest of this month I am going to be focused mainly on my room so I have a quiet space to rest and do my school work and honestly it needs quite a bit of work. After church this morning I plan to seriously start working on getting my bed fully cleared off and then working on my bookcase headboard.

Thanks for this thread, Andrea ! It'll be good to see what I can do in a week as I nibble away with the daily stuff. Keeping this short, because I get discouraged when I don't get 100% of a list done. My list: 1. Use or do not use old canister vacuum cleaner, and either get rid of it, or put it away in a convenient place. Need to do by Wednesday night, because trash day is Thursday. 2. Pull the recipes I want from one favorite old damaged cookbook, and recycle the remainder. Personal bonus points for going through two books. 3. I've been going through old boxes of mostly papers. What I'm doing now is rough sorting: financial papers, nonfinancial papers, and recycling/trash. I've recently completed one box. I want to get through two more this week, with the hope that the three boxes will have been reduced to two. Then there would be a box of nonfinancial papers and one of financial papers. I have 15 containers of mostly papers, so in several weeks, I think I should be able to reduce that to 10. At that point, I'll need to establish firm criteria for what is worth keeping. Best wishes to everyone here!

goldenthreads when I was here a while ago this thread was what helped me by allowing me to make larger goals but then breaking them down into manageable areas. I have under 9 days to get my room clean enough to get my new bed frame which means I need to work on my room about an hour a day. So far today I have: cleared off the top of my bookcase headboard, organized boxes, cleared off half of my bed

Your bed frame deadline is a bit like a dinner guest deadline. You are forced to focus and do the prep work by the circumstance you yourself set up. It's a great strategy! I'm a bit excited for you.

Today I was able to get my entire bookcase headboard cleared off, disassembled my old bed frame that was to big for my bed. I swept around the entire bed where the frame used to be. Threw out a bag of garbage and a bag of recycling. I cleared off my entire bed though now I need to go through all the boxes since I have to many things at this point.

I got rid of the canister vacuum cleaner! I didn't really like it when I was given it long ago. I've used it maybe twice since I moved out of my house several years ago. Recently I pulled it out and kept it where I was going to try it out again. I still couldn't make myself use it. It was still hard to decide, because I should have been able to make use of it. But that way lies madness, and I knew it. OK, two things to go for this week: pulling the recipes from one cookbook, and a particular segment of my box project.

Past few days have only been doing my basic cleaning due to a 3 day migraine and severe joint pain. I have gone through one box and was able to get rid of a majority of it to donation or trash. Started going through clothes and was able to donate 10 shirts. I am hoping after I get back tomorrow to work on going through at least 2 boxes and some of my books.
