done: -almost an hour of decluttering in the bedroom -put recycling in bin -decided to toss 3 old grungy, not working, 'good' timers - they were not meant to be with me for a lifetime. They are not adding value to my life, even if new batteries helped. todo: -get ready for bed

Hi, erniethecat. I hope you're feeling better. You're certainly getting things done! Hi, doodles. I always give you the white-gloved wave because you're far away and I want you to see it. Hello, BetsyMarie. I'm very excited for you getting all those donations out of the house. You've been so single-minded about decluttering that you almost seem to be accelerating. Emptied shredder. Ran Roomba in kitchen. Told my friend I wanted to pay for an energy audit of her house; she agreed to it. She'll get some energy-saving things installed for free and maybe some tips, and I hope it eases some money concerns. tomorrow Mop kitchen floor. Wash bathroom floor. Write thank-you note. Go to bank and to post office.

goldenthreads , Thank you. I think you are right - I seem to be accelerating. 120 years of age just keeps getting closer. Just this evening, instead of settling into something to watch I ended up doing the dishes. I never wash dishes in the evening. Never. But I didn't want to 'just sit here' when there was something I could get out of the way. As for decluttering, I'm finding it easier to dispose of things that are really obstacles, either donating or just tossing. I mentioned tossing three timers above, but there were also 2 nice old flashlights (metal) that went into recycling. The newer LED ones are so much better. And while washing dishes, I tossed an unopened past-date jar of salsa instead of feeling obligated to empty and wash the jar. Motivation follows action. And perhaps a corollary - The more you do, the more you want to do. Unless it's all the tea I've been drinking. done: -put away dry dishes -washed dishes -cut down a scrubby pad into usable sections. todo -get ready for bed. This time I mean it.
