Good afternoon, gaylem and erniethecat! Paid three bills. Started dishes soaking. PUPA 5 minutes, including filing three papers properly instead of putting them in the TBF basket. Do several PUPAs to get the place down to the underlayers.
Order some summer clothes (I have two usable pairs of shorts). Empty shredder. Shower and dress.

Hi all! Last week was an exhausting week for me and I didn't get much done besides my colonoscopy and work related tasks.
Two of my nephews were supposed to be in NJ yesterday, so my sister planned a mini-family reunion.... But then neither of them made it! I did go and spent part of the weekend with my parents and then went to visit my sister and the relatives that could make it. It has become apparent to all of us that my mom doesn't have much longer to live. She is 92 years old and has congestive heart failure and renal insufficiency. My sister wanted to talk with the 4 of us kids about what we would want for her as far as end-of-life plans and thoughts about cremation/funeral/memorial service. We are all in agreement, which is good. My sister and niece have been cleaning out the house, which is good. Mom is quite a packrat, and I have inherited the gene... My sister shared a card that my grandmother sent me after I had a long illness (Urinary tract infection followed by scarlet fever) when I was in 1st grade. They also gave me a book that had been mine, given to me by an uncle, when I was a young child. I took the book and the card... but I'm not sure what to do with them... The tears are flowing...
Now for my to-do's: Eat breakfast Tidy up the kitchen... Do the dishes Check on the chickens Call my hairdresser and ask if she has time for a haircut today.

Good morning, Ally. That sounds like a hard weekend, but a really meaningful one. How wonderful that you have strong family relationships and care for one another. Put away dry dishes. Made bed. Started dishes soaking. Something old... Something new... Something to give me a kickstart.

Making a long to-do list here, because I forget to look at my paper planner lately, and I'm feeling pretty scattered. Something old: Washed dishes. Something new: Ordered shorts and tops for summer. Something to give me a kickstart: Took my meds and supplements with coffee. Shower and dress. PUPA 10 minutes. Order gifts. Request prescription renewal from doc. Empty shredder. Shred some more papers. Go to library to pick up hold. Cancel holds at other library.

goldenthreads, I love that you include the kickstart in your ta-da's! I need to remember that those self-care things we do are important. ta-da's: Earlier had a duck egg omelet for breakfast (duck eggs courtesy of my sister...) Later, ate a small lunch Sorted out 2 weeks worth of vitamins/supplements into pill organizer thingies. Gave watermelon rind to the chickens, and refilled their feeders Brought in most of the stuff from my car. Loaded up the dishwasher and started it Scrubbed the sink... I'm breaking my own rules here... about posting more than 3 things. to-do: In 1 hour, shower and then go to get my haircut. Plant a couple of things outside if I can bear the heat. Prepare meals to take to work next couple of days Knitting or work on quilt top.

Apparently I just hit the Logout button instead of posting this, so of course it disappeared. It's not a coincidence that I am about to watch a video on ADHD and working memory. Put away dry dishes. Requested prescription renewal from doc. Took out compostables and recycling, and brought in some things that the landlord had left out. It's about to rain. Shower and dress. PUPA 10 minutes. Order gifts. Empty shredder. Shred some more papers. Go to library to pick up hold. Cancel holds at other library.

Thanks very much for this response! I do have that checked in my profile. I don't remember the message popping up, though. But now I know to be watching for it next time I do something like this!
