Good morning. I was up and at it early this am. My sister comes today for a week. I am cleaning up the mess in this room. Washing sheets and towels and remaking the bed.
Trying to pack what I need for the week, meds, clothes, toothbrush as well as clear out the overwhelming clutter.
Such an eye opener for me

Good morning! I love reading these childhood library stories. when I was little, the library was in a big old house. I just loved it and wished I could live there too. The children's section was in the basement and it had these deep set windows that were so intriguing to me. i used to be able to walk there with friends after a certain age as it was right in the center of our town. peaceseeker sorry about your honorary aunt ohblondie have fun with your sister dtesposito oh the birds.... I actually went to the library yesterday! DD had to get something so I took out three books and was reading again last night. In fact, I stayed up too late reading .... I worked rather diligently yesterday afternoon. I also trimmed 8 bushes and bagged up the trimmings. I took puppy for a long walk after dinner -- thinking good she'll be tired. Nope puppy was ready for play, so I played with her in the backyard until it was getting dark. Today I have a rather clunky meeting day. ugh. Chaos was on vacation yesterday so it was a bit of a reprieve. today I have three Chaos meetings. I am so sick of Chaos. I can't even really take a lunch break today. Today we have a meeting in which I think we will find out the return to work day. I am in complete denial. I am afraid I will spiral down into a very dark place. I have been working for a long time and I am just tired of it but since I have to do it I like doing it at home. At the same time very grateful to have a job. it is a beautiful day here. sunny and a little cool. took the trash out, put clean dishes away. did some emails now girding my loins and drinking coffee!

Good morning PS, ohblondie, bree and scholar!
The handyman showed up at 7:30 this morning, pried up the crooked metal slab that the old AC unit was on, and had to break up a concrete edge underneath. In the middle of the concrete edge was a space about 2 feet square. I knew a racoon had been going under there, because I saw tufts of hair along the edge and footprints when there was snow. I originally was afraid we would find babies under there--what would we do? But I figured we were late in the season for babies now. However, the entire 2 foot square section was packed with scraps of plastic and paper. Old bag wrappers, strips off of garbage bags, tissue paper, etc. I would have loved to see a raccoon carrying in all these pieces to make a bed. Poor guy or gal, hopefully there's plenty of time before next winter to find another warm spot because there will be nowhere to hide on the new cement slab.
According to my computer it's only low 70s, but in the yard, in the hot sun, it felt horrible--I had to come in for a break. I saw him break everything up and I saw what was underneath, now he's making the frame to pour the concrete and I see how he's planning to do it so I don't need to see this part. I'll go back out when he pours the concrete to see how he does that.

Good Morning Diane, PS, ohblondie, Bree and Scholar!! Happy Humpday!! Middle of the week and it's looking like a great week! I had been meaning to get back in here and check in with everyone. Monday was a weird day. Both hubby and I were really tired and took long naps. Yesterday was fairly productive -- got some much needed work done at my desk for my business for the 2 companies I am a consultant with. But we got dishes done (3 times!) and got laundry underway! We are both on vacation, plus the kids finished up school this week. Yesterday was our son's last day in person and Monday was our daughter's. Technically she has remote today but I don't think there is anything to do. I told her yesterday and today to login. Her chemistry teacher was the only one who had anything - a daily question.
So we were planning on leaving tomorrow morning to go to the family house for a couple nights but we might get our act together and leave this afternoon. We have a semi plan, but we'll see how the day goes. I literally need to pack EVERYTHING!
Ta da Dishwasher unloaded Fridge reorganized - tossed a few old food stuff Groceries put away (8 am delivery made today!) Noom coursework done Logged breakfast COOKED breakfast Started pulling food stuff for trip (non perishables) that we're taking. Recycling took outside (husband)
To Do Make packing lists - clothes, food, etc Fold & put away load towels Put away son's folded clothes Get extra litter box set back up and clean other (mom offered to clean but I think the extra box will work for them - it's 2 nights) Check all windows - lock Check laundry Pack me Pack hubby (he should do his own but he needs a list!) Pack J Pack K Pack E (guidance needed but she should do her own) Pack food Checkbook/bills One sample for mailing Drop off prize to my VIP winner (on way out of town) Gas car Drop mail at post office Cats' food and water (mom will check on them) Fish - add food tablets to their tank Empty kitchen trash

Okay we decided tomorrow morning makes more sense to leave. We can take our time packing a bunch this afternoon and then just get the rest together and leave tomorrow morning.
Ta Da Run "clean cycle" in washing machine Fold & put away load darks Fold & put away load towels Put away son's folded clothes (hubby) Make scent samples for customers Work on google security issues -- tons of old passwords to delete

Hello Angie, I hope you have a good trip!
Scholar, congrats on facing scary things. I think when the memorial is over you'll feel a lot clearer about going forward, it has to be weighing on your mind.
Well, it's been a while since I felt so tired. I don't think I posted this morning that the dog woke me up at 1:00 to go out, and I couldn't fall back to sleep. I've been doing better generally with sleep but I think this AC issue is high enough stress that it kept me awake, and after a while I just got up. So I have been up since 1am, and I spent a good part of the day in the hot sun in the yard. And this was the GOOD day, the temp really wasn't bad, it was just that relentless sun. I did enjoy watching the rest of the concrete slab being created, and the handyman helped me with a few other things in the house while waiting for it to set enough to do the final touches. But, I had very little energy when he finally left a 4:00 I just sat down and ate a slow dinner and did some reading. I talked to my shopping friend for almost 2 hours, and here we are, almost time for bed.
Except the handyman emailed me to ask if I could put the bags of topsoil that are sitting in the yard into the basement so they don't get rained on tomorrow night...I will try to do that tonight and get it over with, tomorrow will be low 90s and I will be hiding in the one room with the window air conditioner!
I will take the dog out, put the topsoil away, and then probably (hopefully) fall asleep early and sleep well.
Good night everyone, see you in the morning!
Diane

Good morning PS!
I feel somewhat rejuvenated because I did have a good night's sleep. However, I woke up with a leg cramp that was persistent, I hope I'm not going to start getting these again, they are painful.
By leaving windows open I got the temp in here down to 70 again, that should keep the downstairs comfortable til early afternoon, the upstairs is a different story. So now I'm watching the temp so I know the best time to close all the windows. I already had to close the back door because the sun is up.
I'm sure today will require a lot of breaks to cool off but I'm going to try to catch up some from the non-activity of yesterday. After breakfast I will get working.
Diane
