Did a five minute tidy on the kitchen counter near the microwave and the kitchen table while waiting on coffee. I did one yesterday on the console table in the lr. Need to do a few more today.

Finished the kitchen . All of the stuff that I wanted to absorb from DM has a home. I have a fairly decent stack of donate. Very thankful that I had done a complete kitchen purge and rearrangement in 2020. Made this all easier. I didn't move a lot around - mainly just pulled it all out - cleaned drawers and shelves - eliminated what I could and then re-organized and put it back. Four cupboards I just glanced at - they were OK. Found another shelf that was resting on a shelf in our coffee cupboard. So in TWO cupboards - I gained a shelf. Very helpful. My judgment is somewhat skewed - prior to Covid - we entertained A LOT. On average, we had at least two large parties a year and most months had multiple couples over. So, the adage of "not using it in a year" doesn't help. . Just trying to remember if I used it ever We have company coming next weekend so I'm delaying my family room work until after they leave. Plus I have an urgency to finish some paperwork that has been neglected of mine and DM's - starting to work on that today. So adding that to my August challenge - paperwork that had been binned up due to work from home and DM's move. Maybe will start on the family room by last weekend in the month. PC

Congrats phoenixcat! *** I will try to tackle 3 or 4 or maybe even 5 paper work projects this evening, after work and walk with a friend. (1) I'll need to pay bills. This probably takes 30 minutes. (2) This is important to do today, I need to read some emails and instructions, and find some documents and sent the documents. (3) This is almost done already, just need to recheck that it's ok. I think it'll take 10 minutes at most. (4) This belongs in the same group with the previous, I got the info I need last Friday and now I can make some progress. I need to read some instructions, log on to a website, fill in a form. I think that's all I can do at this point, then I'll need to wait for them to send me the details before I can fully complete the task. If I remember correctly, the last time I did this task it took me about 30 minutes. (5) Depending on my anxiety, this is optional. While logged in to my bank, there are some info/details I'd need to check in order to make progress with one of my projects. I have already started this prior, but there were some things I stil need to figure out before I can move forward with it. This is something I want to do before the August is over, but it's not super important to do today.

I'm back in here this week to continue working on decluttering for at least 5 minutes. I think I'm going to check out where I have worked since this challenge started to be sure I'm defending these areas. Congrats ...this is such a great challenge so far!!

With great embarrassment and some fear I am adding reducing my screen time as an area of focus for this month. Today I accidentally did something on my laptop that brought up the Screen Time feature, something that I didn't know I had. It was an absolutely appalling number of average daily hours. I'm not going to say what that number was here, or what my goal is in number of hours, but my realistic goal for the remainder of this week is to lower that daily number by 50%.
I use my website blocker to keep me off news and game sites for most of the day, but I recently added two streaming services that I've been using late at night, so I've just reallocated how I'm using/wasting my time.
I think I know what I'm going to do to change this, but I'm feeling really terrible right now. Encouraging words welcome.

Strange, I just lost a post! And I didn't even leave the page. Here's a new try. I have been making some progress on my paperwork projects. 3 paperwork projects are done, 2 new ones have been added. I think I will delete the under the bed project from my goal list. It's only three things under there, and this month is super busy and I haven't had completely free weekends at all (nor will I). I can get back to it when more important projects have been done. I am also unsure if I can tackle the basement storage cleaning, due to the same reasons. August goals: 1. STARTED deal with all the undone paper work projects, all are urgent and important 2. STARTED include deep cleaning tasks to my weeks, such as washing the balcony area rug ( ), cleaning the lint filted from the washing machine 3. clean and organize my basement storage 4. STARTED sell and donate especially the largest items PAPAERWORK TA-DA! - pay bills - wrap up one impotant project - worked on another very important project as far as I can. It is now pending, and not far from being 100% taken care of. I only procrastinated for a year, , and it took me all 20 minutes to do. Sign. - as a side project, sort of "paper" related, was copying my blog posts from aa website that closed down. I saved hundreds of my blog posts, written between 2013-2021. PAPERWORK TO DO (ADDED NEW PROJECTS): (1) work related project: read some emails and instructions, and find some documents and sent the documents. Fill in a form. (2) STARTED log in to my bank, tfind relevant info/details, check the details (take notes). Read email, find old notes and data, write an email. After doing these this project will be "pending". (3) work position application (4) STARTED tax related project
