Got dressed. Took out green waste. Started dishes soaking. Clear an area on the table for working; do in spurts because it's daunting.

Does anyone else here see the bobby pins, and cotton things for your ears.....throw them away while ignoring piles of stuff? I need to change. Sure. It sounds like maybe you're saying that this isn't logical and that you're frustrated. When I ignore the piles, it's because 1) I'm intimidated by the size of the problem pile, and/or 2) I know that a lot of decisions or action will be required of me and I'm scared that my knowledge and skills (and sometimes energy) will be inadequate. Tossing the little things seems pretty easy because there's very little emotional labor or investment called on. I'd say taking care of the little things still matters a lot, because that means you're keeping up with at least some of the current stuff, even though the piles sit there unchanged. Good for you! I've been avoiding some piles on my table for a few weeks now. I'm going to spend 10 minutes on those piles sometime during the next two hours. Wanna give it a shot along with me?

Hi all oust I am with goldenthreads, small items with obvious places to go like the trash bin or whatever are easy, piles are intimidating. Taking care of the unthreatening is still valuable though. I think it builds the ability to move items out or to the correct place and that is useful for the major decluttering tasks. goldenthreads I'll join you on the table piles! kitchen clean up more kitchen clean up fresh water for dogs walk dog wash towels clean compost bins

Thanks, doodles . Some of my table clearing was, admittedly, just shuffling, but now there is space to do the project work. A really useful result of oust "making" me get up and do something was that I found what I'd thought of as my most recent proof of auto insurance buried under some papers. The insurance is up to date, but I don't think what I have in the car is current, so I'm going to go check now. Washed dishes. Spent 10 minutes on table: recycled, put away, and set aside to be filed papers. Had meds and made bed. Clear an area on the table for working; do in spurts because it's daunting.

Yes. I have never had it explained like that. Its so right. Thank you.
I worked on some non stress things in the bedroom Found my Passport Ss card Birth certificate. Filled a bag with change for the machine to eat.
Filled the laundry bag again.
Told B i have taken about 40lbs of food in plastic containers to the bedroom. The kitchen will definitely not be emptied and ready for maintenance this week. B reminded me that they have made promises before, and been no show for months, so im not working towards that goal now.

You got some good stuff done, oust: found important documents, prepped for laundry this week, moved and protected food from the kitchen. Cleared an area on the table for working. Put away dishes. Straightened the table a little more. Clear some more of the table.
