Went back to look at the August challenge, and I'm going to continue it with a little revision. I'm not going to make plans for the kitchen this month, although if I do something notable I will claim it!
Screen time Average daily screen time results from last month: 15th-21st down 14% from previous week 22nd-28th about the same as 15th-21st 29th-today down 39% from last week, but that's mainly because I was away from home most of Monday and so far today. Getting out of the house seems to really work, but an at-home remedy needs to be worked out, too. Anyway, I'm aiming for down 30% from my mid-August baseline.
Projects Projects RT and G are related, and I'm still working on them intermittently. Need to do it more often and for longer each session.

For September, I am going to declutter everyday. I have begun in my laundry room.

For Sept, I want to continue to make progress decluttering as well as regularly dealing with the little things (not backsliding).
The general plan: -outside decluttering and general beautification (gardening) while the weather is still nice -getting more 'stuff' out of the house (trash and donations) -attention to 'the little things' - doing '5 minutes' most days -posting here most days, generally in Working in Threes, or elsewhere, to maintain focus and accountability.
I want to do something most days working towards the main goal - a relatively neat, functional home - without stoking too much resistance.

A closer look reveals...
Well, here's a weird thing about my computer's tracking of my screen time. Apparently (at least today) it has counted screen time when I've been away from home! I was gone most of the morning, early afternoon, and a few hours this evening, yet apparently I was on my laptop, too.
I guess letting it sleep isn't enough. It looks like I need to shut it down or at least log out of everything to get accurate data. It'll be good for me, and good for the computer, and maybe I've not been quite as "bad" as I'd thought.

My birthday is in October and I have sort of a self-imposed deadline to finish the upstairs by that time. However, more likely it will be end of October (or November). 1) Finish the family room (just the entertainment unit left). 2) Try and get things OUT of the house - ship to DM's home for distribution to family and friends. Get out speciality recycling, etc. 3) Finish DM's knickknacks and get them displayed or gone. 4) Finish all the "office bins" for DM and myself. Lots of filing. Anything else will be a bonus. Actually doing all four of those will be a miracle Happy September!! PC

I was so busy for the end of August, that I didn't have much any time to work on my goals. So many of my last month's goals will be moved over to this Spetember goal list.
I did get some of my paperwork projects done, I got lots done at work, and tackled some deep cleaning projects. But there are still much to do. I still have furniture to sell. I still have the basement storage cubicle to clean, and all the things that have been sitting aroun in my home to take down there. The window renovation is approaching, and I'll need to work towards that, too. And look for work, and apply for research grants. And take care of me. I guess the main theme here is a getting my life to a manageable place, and get all the old stuff done to make room for new things.
I didn't like the way I set up my lists last month, it was difficult to update and to get an idea how I had progressed. I'll need to think how it would be done better. I will post the details in my blog for more privacy, but these are the main things I want to work on:
1. tackle all the old (and new) paperwork projects
2. add deep cleaning to my weeks, prep for window renovation
3. sell furniture, take donations

I got to work in my laundry room today before it got too hot. It won't be long before we get milder temperatures here. I found some good things to donate.

Well, I looked back at my notes the best I could and I think my totals for August were 2 hour 40 minutes on paper and 50 minutes on office supplies.
I have all kinds of little areas of the house that need work, but I still haven't figured out my medical issues and although most days I feel okay, there are still days when I don't, and I will have further tests probably at the end of the month. Also, September can still be pretty hot, so I'm going to just stick with my paper and office supply organizing goals since those can be done sitting down. I'm going to add a couple of things to the paper category though. I realized that pretty much everything that I still have too much of and that causes clutter is paper related in some way--not only old paper not yet sorted, but those scraps of paper that contain things to look up or follow up on, newspapers that I have to skim, and catalogues that I can't seem to get rid of until I take at least a cursory look at. So now I'm really going to include every single thing that takes up my time that is made of paper.
I guess the exception is reading books, they're made of paper and they take my time but they aren't decluttering. Every other paper item is fair game, though. I'll try to double or triple my August paper time, and double my office supply time. The paper goal will go on forever but the office supply one should be finished this month or next, at least, I hope so.
Good luck on your goals, everyone!
Diane

For the next 5 days, including today, I'm going to challenge myself to filling at least one 32 gallon green waste can. Bushes have gotten out of control on one side of the house. I started this morning and did fill 2 trash cans with clippings.

You go BetsyMarie I'm actively working towards this challenge too ....Last month was productive! Glad your last month was successful, def6. For me, Last month's challenge (daily 5 min pupa - pick-up, put away) seems to have had a lingering positive effect - now I find myself just seeing something out of place, and dealing with it without even thinking. This morning I was in the laundry room, saw some trays that belonged elsewhere, and a minute later I realized I had picked them up and was carrying them to their home. How cool is that? A big problem for me has always been simply not seeing things that were out of place. Not that I'm 'cured', but it's a start. Need to do that 5 min daily pupa challenge again to nurture this new behavior. But for now I'm working on the 5 day bush trimming challenge. Yesterday I 'filled' 2 more cans. They are actually only 3/4 full since more than that they are too heavy to carry, and I can't easily bring the dolly to where I am working. Accurate amounts don't really matter. What does is getting the job done. I'll admit that committing to an entire month of doing something is a bit much for me, so I'm trying serial challenges of shorter duration. But if they are all in the same month, and things get done, I consider that a success.
