Diane I'll admit to going into panic buyer mode too, trying to keep ahead of the crowd in topping up the car before everyone else went into panic mode , Petrol stations are the latest casualty of lorry driver shortages... (Bloody Bxxxxt!!!)
So time to haul my butt out of bed, it's "Operation Stash it all Away " today before family come tomorrow !!! First step open all the windows to air the place. Then laundry Then Liberate some more carpet to hoover.

Good morning decade--wow, family comes tomorrow! You will be busy today, but for a good reason, it's so nice that you'll have this visit.
It's still chilly outside, but lower 80s are predicted for today and tomorrow. When I took the dog out I did a little more raking--the part inside the yard is almost done.
I'm eating breakfast and catching up on some news.

..sooo downstairs & stairs vacuumed 😊 Next phase has got to be hiding stuff away, Few patches on the carpet need a scrub, hadn't realised there were patches till I moved boxes aside 🤦🏻♀️ Half hour break between phases. Will have a few hours in the morning too, but need part of that to buy in some goodies Planning to invite family in around Halloween too to try and make myself get a routine that will stop things getting bad too quickly Edit.. soooooo going to accept that things are FAR from perfect, will have to close the doors to two of the rooms, and just handle whatever reaction my parents have.. Stashing a few bits into the attic tonight, have a decent night's sleep, get some nibbles from the local bakery in the morning, straighten up the rooms we'll be using, shower and try to be relaxed when they come..

Hi everybody!
It's evening here. My life is a bit of a mess right now, and I need to start tolerating the anxiety and just do the tasks that I need to do.
I had a visitor today, and I cleaned and tidied for her. Not super intensive cleaning, and I didn't manage to do any of the larger projects I had hoped to do before her visit, but it is now really nice in here.
I just tamed my personal email to a tolerable level, and also did a rough purge on my professional email inbox. I opened two letters, and started to update my to do lists, which I have been ignoring for few weeks. I need to pay bills today. And hopefully do one important paper work project before going to sleep.

Go, decade!
Hi OnTheMend!
I took the dog out for her late morning yard visit, cleaned the birdbath and water bowl, and watered the plants I just put in the new garden plot. I also collected more seeds from the Agastache--it occurred to me that I can share some with the library in their seed exchange!
Then I had an early lunch, while watching Acorn.
Time to get back to work.
Next:
10 minutes on plants Clean out/wash out bread basket Wash top of fridge Delete 10 hard emails

Seed exchange sounds like a fantastic idea!
I started filling in a form I have been avoiding for few months. It needs lot of detailed info, and I need to look for information from my files. It will take a while but it's so nice to get it done!

Good afternoon everypony!
I dressed for fall yesterday but it was still late summer weather, so I was a bit too hot. At least I had sunscreen on! had fun saying hi to friends in the "landsharks" performance (water ballet on land) and recording it. Then we went back to D's and I gave them gifts (hats and gloves) from the Iowa thrift store and we watched the new My Little Pony movie. They liked it! cute and great music.
I am just getting started.
NEXT UP: boot up blood pressure readings wash my face online check in get dressed
ON DECK: boot up the laundry train (maybe that should be fire up so as not to mix metaphors)
upload video and share w/ water ballet make plans for the week update calendars and lists take a walk pay water bill

Ok I am done with the form, and it is now submitted. Yahoo!
I fear that I will suffer concequences because I didn't do this in time. I had the time, I just couldn't do it due to anxiety. But to concentrate on positive, I did today start this process, which is heaps better than not starting it!
I have so many paper work projects to do, all super important and time sensitive, but next I will focus on paying my bills. Then I will relax for the rest of the evening, and eat ice cream. Tomorrow I will continue working on these paper work projects.

Hello scholar!
water ballet on land
Well, that's an interesting concept!
OnTheMend, good work on the scary paperwork, some of these things are so intimidating to get started. Relaxing and eating ice cream sounds like the perfect end to the evening.
Next:
Write an overdue friend email, it will take a while

I don't know what it is with those paperworks, I guess there is some glooming fear, but most of the time it is irrational. I am super pleased I tacked it!
I just updated some threads (ahem, procrastinated on paying bills!) but now I will pay those darn bills. Icecream after bills!
Good luck to your email, Diane!

Special good luck to you! I am thinking of you as you work, you can do this! OMG the closing of the doors reminded me about the time when I was a super messy teen, in a home that was otherwise very tidy. Once when we had guests, my mom had just closed the door to my messy room, in which you entered from the livingroom. One very unpolite and nosy guest then went and threw the door open to see what was behind the door - I think he was visiting our home the first time. He did it so fast and without a warning, we didn't have time to react! We, and espcially my mom, was mortified! I still think it was so unconsiderate and rude to peek behind closed doors in other people's homes! Oh and once I remember someone just went to take a look behind a door curtain of my walk-in closet, this was nearly 20 years ago. I had replaced the door with a curtain (super cute) and he just helped himself and took a good look what was behind. Super rude! Thankfully my cabinets and storage spaces are usually in very tidy and organized shape (for some reason I have no problems keep those tidy and organized). But it felt "dirty" and like offending my very personal space. I still remember these after all these years! I hope you will never have to face similar situations!

OnTheMend, enjoy your well-deserved ice cream, you can start the week knowing you had a productive day today!
Decade, yes, I hope your family isn't the nosy type! But that's okay, they will love you no matter how your place looks.
After writing that long email my shopping friend called me--we had decided to only talk twice a week but she's been calling more as she's getting used to her new home. Then I took the dog out and cleaned the birdbath again.
I will do one more list before eating dinner.
Next:
10 more minutes on CDs, I think that should finish up that project 10 minutes on first floor, including looking for more grocery bags to use as dog bags Water some of the downstairs plants
