Can I start the week off? It's Monday again, a day of new beginnings, and of course we come to Friday with a new month 🌤️🌻🗓️🍃☔
The week starts with uncertainty, plan A is family visit this afternoon, but plan B is now MAYBE Wednesday instead since this morning has started off stormy 🌪️🌧️ ...but it's one of those days when we have 3 seasons in one day, so time to get the min tasks done ....thanks to the rain the windows are cleaning themselves 🌧️🤭
First breakfast to start the day off
Book swimming for next Tuesday Then washing up Putting clothes away Clear the hall rack so they can slot in their shoes & bag Odd bits off the dinning room table Random stuff off lounge floor Wipe bathroom yuck off sink Random bedroom/landing things in proper places Dishes put away By then I'll know for sure whether it's plan A or Plan B Rehang backdoor curtain Clean the door handles
Anyway time to stop writing and do the doing ......

Thanks for starting this, I was already waiting a thread to appear, but too busy to start one myself!
Good luck to your goals! I hope you get to know very soon the exact time of the visit!
I have had a great start for today, woke up in time, was on time at a zoom group work-together, have my face, clothes, teeth, and hair done. Today's big goal is to work on as many paperwork projects as possible. I already finished one, have made progress with the other (I could call it done also, because I did the steps I originally had on my list, but new steps appeared, so I will call it started instead), and just started tackling a third, new and very important project. I will work in sessions, and probably try to work till 3 or 4 PM. Then I have some home care tasks planned.

I cooked a tasty, healthy, hearty lunch (with leftovers for tomorrow). While potatoes were boiling, I cleaned my fridge, boy it needed it.
I will now reast for a while, then there is one writing task to do, dishes to wash, counters to wipe, and electric fans to dust and put away. Aaahhhh, I just got an idea! I think I have just the tool for cleaning those electric fans, a sort of bendy, swordlike micro fibre thingy! Maybe I don't have to take those metal fan covers apart after all, it would make the whole cleaning step much more fast and pleasant!

Good morning decade, thanks for starting the thread! It looks like it's been 4 hours since your post, so maybe that means, plan A? If so, I hope things are going well.
Here's how book oriented I am--I read your post "book swimming for next Tuesday" and for a moment I thought--book swimming, what is that? First, water ballet on land, and now books are swimming? But, I got it...
Good morning OnTheMend, it sounds like you're still working at home. It seems like most of the US folks are being forced back to the workplace.
I got fairly decent sleep last night, not quite enough, but no long periods of wakefulness. However, the long email that I sent to my friend yesterday was answered this morning with a long one in return, with a scary story about how one of her dogs almost died earlier this month. The dog made it through and is healing, but apparently she has a medical condition that could recur, so I feel bad about that. This friend is someone I worked with for years at the shelter, she gets as attached to her animals as I do so I feel for her. Kind of a jarring way to start the day, but I will try to be thankful that the dog is healing.
I'm eating breakfast now, I just looked at the weather report and they have modified the high today to be near 90. Oh well, it's almost October, there can't be too much more of this, and tomorrow cools off, so I will plan inside activities. When I took the dog out it was still nice and cool, so I raked up most of the rest of the grass on the side of the house, and brought the yard bin back towards the front of the house since it has to go out tomorrow. That will be all the yard work for today.

I am unemployed now, but yes most researchers here do work from home, many don't even get an office space from the university.
I hope you have a good day!

Oh, I didn't know you were unemployed! Is this common in your profession, do you work on specific projects and then have to move on to the next?
TO DO:
10 minutes on plants Move everything from TV desk, dust/wash desk surface, dust and move things back Delete 30 emails

Yes this is very typical, short employments, grants, project work. It's only been few weeks, I am still getting used to this! I still have lot of work, I just don't get paid anymore!

Happy monday morning!
I made a cup of coffee with my new french press. (9.99 Aldi) It tastes pretty good and I might actually go make another pot. It is a very small press - about the same as my 4 cup drip maker. the drip pot will be washed and descaled and put back in the box and donated. I have always wanted a french press and I am happy (and something is leaving)
this morning; shower unload dishwasher
This afternoon return shirts to walmart and get a different shirt (for aunt) get caltrate $4 coupon
tonight visit parents
This weekend Visited parents friday night left a bit early as DH left work early - thought we would do something for dinner - made a grilled cheese and tomato sandwich. Delish! Saturday ran errands for everyone else - got my aunt's mail and everything on her list that she needed from her apartment. brought my mom to visit her sister (my aunt). Went through the aunt's mail. Have another bill to pay and a doctor to call to cancel her appointment. We then ran to warehouse type store, vitamin store, craft store, etc. Sunday back at big box discount store to try to find pants for my aunt. Dropped off pants and picked up two shirts that did not fit. Thank goodness staff left the tags on them and I can return them. staff at facility lost the 3 pair of her own pants I dropped off for her. so now I am scrambling to buy some that hopefully fit. UGH..... Took parents out for ice cream. Met some friends there - parents had a great time socializing! Dropped them off and ran more errands to a different big box warehouse type store. I bought some frozen personal pan pizzas for son to heat up. I super cleaned one section of the counter, got the stove wiped off, and got the dishwasher loaded and run. I also was able to toss some items from the fridge. It was nice to see a shiny countertop when I got up this morning. I also got two loads of laundry washed yesterday for my DS. I would rather do it myself than have him do it - he tends to leave wet clothes in the washer for days....STINKY........ I hung one load to dry (he is tall and his shirts get too short when dried in the dryer) I will fold these clothes today. Oh - I also repotted a couple of plants. I had an outside plant that I loved and I want to try and keep it going over the winter. I have a couple more to pot. (I am channeling my inner Diane!!)
OK - time to get some work done

Good morning ohblondie!
I have a couple more to pot. (I am channeling my inner Diane!!)
Ha ha--you are doing better than I am, I should have repotted about 3/4 of my plants this summer and I probably did about 6 so far. Hopefully now that the weather will (soon) be cooler I can do some--not the ideal time, but I've repotted in all seasons and they do okay. I hope your plants do okay over the winter!
The desk cleaning is turning into a major project, that's okay, it all needs to be done.
Next:
Go through files in tv desk file holder, remove items not needed Find some blank files and add some new ones Go through desk top container of office supplies, organize

Good morning and happy Monday! Y'all are off to a great start!
Thankfully I remembered I have a DDS appt to put the new crown on this morning, so set my alarm. I did not go to bed on time so a nap might be in my future. But the DDS is right next to the grocery store, so I can do that first. Yesterday I didn't do anything on my list except for laundry. I did some things not on my list. Uploaded videos I took of the water ballerinas. This morning I sent out links. It was a bit complicated, so I am glad I got that done.
I have also chosen an outfit and made some coffee. Time to get dressed and get going!
