TA DA Took shredder downstairs and emptied into recycling bag 10 minutes fridge clean out Moved some recyclables from kitchen to bag on porch Put a bag of rotting apples that has been sitting in a cooler next to my fridge since early December into the trash bag to dispose of today. This is a HUGE accomplishment. The cooler will need to be cleaned out at some point and might smell like rotting apples forever. Brought shredder basket back upstairs
TO DO Take trash $$ downstairs Anything to scoop from kitty pans and add to trash before it goes out? 5 minutes fridge clean out

all of you who are doing things! Good morning, everyone! I felt quite proud of myself for waking up at 6:23 and staying up. I feel happy and lively, yet I've been poking around doing this and that. Time to take advantage of the energy and DO THINGS. Started dishes soaking. Put away clothes from the drying rack. Emptied suitcase (more stuff to put away, though) and put it away. Put away remaining things from suitcase. Find places for the ancestors' things. Do a little personal accounting. Remove trash from car in categories (trash, compostables, recycling). Put away clothes from laundry room. Restart food tracking (fell by the wayside while out of town).

mouseanne The ancestors' things were from my mom: some of them directly from her, others from her parents, her in-laws, and a great-aunt of mine. I got a vase, a very finely crocheted pincushion, two pairs of tongs (I needed one but will probably toss the other), an etched glass pitcher, and two dish towels (handwoven from flax by my great-aunt). I rejected or delayed on a lot of items. A couple of stories about the not-taken items were very interesting, but the objects themselves weren't necessarily in great shape. (In one story, an ancestor grew the flax herself, spun the thread, and then wove the linens.) Oh, I did take one thing that I don't know what to do with but have always admired. Long before I was of marriageable age, my grandmother crocheted a lace tablecloth, intended for my wedding reception, that is ridiculously long but narrow. It would fit a church banquet table. I don't want to cut it up, but have no idea what to do with it. Edited to add: There's also a silver trivet I took. It's slightly tarnished, never used, from a set of three. Washed dishes. Hung up all the jackets and hats from the trip. That's right--all five of them. Put away the credit cards that were in my jacket and pants pockets. Put away remaining things from suitcase. Find places for the ancestors' things. Do a little personal accounting. Remove trash from car in categories (trash, compostables, recycling). Put away clothes from laundry room. Restart food tracking (fell by the wayside while out of town).

Happy April everyone! What a beautiful day it is here today!
ta-da's: Emptied the dishwasher Laundry is in progress Went through my daughter's old binder from high school.(13 years old) Tossed most of the pages. Cleared off a portion of a shelf for my to keep my Clutterers Anonymous literature. (I was hesitant to buy more literature, but am realizing that some of it is necessary for that program.
to-do: Empty the dryer Clear off more of shelf. Go for a walk

It's a putting away kind of day. I'll do some more later, but first I need to get back to daily stuff and DECLUTTERING. There, I said it. Put away clothes from laundry room. Put away remaining things from suitcase. Put away dishes. Find places for the ancestors' things. Do a little personal accounting. Remove trash from car in categories (trash, compostables, recycling). Restart food tracking (fell by the wayside while out of town). Empty computer/book bag from trip. Do stretches. Get dressed.

Do it now moment: I sprayed some BBQ sauce on the counter and toaster. I cleaned it up right away, delaying lunch by half a minute. I'm patting myself on the back (I was soo hungry), but not claiming it for a trio. Made bed and had meds. Did stretches. Got dressed. Find places for the ancestors' things. Do a little personal accounting. Remove trash from car in categories (trash, compostables, recycling). Restart food tracking (fell by the wayside while out of town). Empty computer/book bag from trip.
