Welcome to August! The guidelines for WIT are simple: - Do some little thing to make your house less squalorous. ☝️ - Do one more little thing. - Do another little thing. - Once you have 3 things done, post them here! - Post the next 3 things you plan on doing. - Go forth and conquer, return and post again. - You aren't required to do the 3 things you had planned on -- just get any 3 things done and then post proudly. Remember - if you are tired or sick or injured or depressed or overwhelmed, or just need to break your tasks down into something manageable, you are in the right place! If the next 15 minutes consists of: - Looked at hopeless living room and felt like crying 😢 - Decided you could take empty pop can to kitchen - Put away book 📚 - Picked up fast food wrappers on coffee table and put them in trash  . . . YOU HAVE ACHIEVED THREE-DOM !!! You could post: Ta-Da's - Took pop can to kitchen - Put away phone book - Threw away McDonald's wrappers Then your To-Do's: - Bring plates and glasses to kitchen - Put dirty socks in hamper - Bring folded towels to linen closet and put away. Whether you do those 3 to-do's, or something completely different, once you've gotten 3, come back and post. Remember to take breaks and drink water. Drinking water counts as a Ta-da! If you can notice what the person before you did, it might cheer them up to hear from you. Go forth, have fun, and be generous to yourself with the Ta-das. YOU DESERVE THEM! |

Good morning, guys and dolls! I was convinced that yesterday was August 1st, so today seems like an encore.

1. Dressed (but not shoes)
2. Dishes washed
3. Entered expenditures in book (Our "No Buy Year" challenge started today.)
TO DO
1. Empty trash cans into outside bin
2. Errands: post office & grocery store
3. Water the plants if it doesn't rain by the time I get back

Hi all. 1st day of a new month - here's to continuing the good work.  Yesterday: -wash dishes - must find better system for 'storing' dirty dishes. -put away most dry dishes -scooped litter This morning: -cut old towel into sm rags and put in kitchen -folded and put away hand towels and sheets -wiped down a few walls todo: -food prep -vacuum and put 'new' rug under litter box -water plants |

Happy August everyone! I go in for full knee replacement surgery tomorrow and I am trying to get my room setup for when I come home so I have things to do.

TA DA 10 minutes random work tasks and emails Colleague changed 10a meeting to 9:30a, so we just finished and I'm glad to be done and moving on with the day TO DO 5 minutes WY work task Wash 1 dish 2 minutes move items from LR back to porch |

Thanks, missjean, for setting up the thread. Late last night I set up an August thread, and then discovered you'd done it six hours earlier! I've heard of buy nothing challenges. BetsyMarie Cleaning walls! I am impressed. This is rarely on my radar, and when it is, the thought just floats away.  Watered vegetables. Did some weeding. Set up August in habit journal. andrea It will be done soon. Hang in there. I have 2 friends get knee replacements, and while difficult, both had very good results and thought it well worth it. goldenthreads by the time I notice walls are soiled and need to be cleaned, they are very soiled and I am shocked I had not previously noticed.  This was mostly around doorways and light switches, not entire walls. Done: -set up bowl on counter to hold fruit and some veggies -scooped litter box -'major' cleaning of area around litter box. todo: -water -work in back yard -weeding
