All welcome! Anytime!
Amnesty is one of the nicest things.
Today I tossed an unopened tub of fat I had saved to make soap. It was one of those amnesty tosses that just felt very freeing.
Amnesty helps me make progress.
The space is so freeing, and I have enough other fat to make soap.

I took amnesty on more fats and oils for soapmaking and tossed them.
Not so easy, but I need to pare down.

love this thread, and WTG, NewLifeToday, on freeing yourself with those decisions.
i took amnesty on phone calls the other day after taking my cat to the mainland for an emergency vet visit. it was freeing to turn off the answering machine and have NO interruptions!

creativechaos How nice to see you here. Thank you for your kind encouragement, and congrats to you on the phone call amnesty. I am getting better at phone call amnesty. Hope your cat is alright now. I took amnesty in miscellany the last couple of days as someone helped me with sorting and tidying. Am taking amnesty today in giving away a lovely, rolling, useful, shelved cart. Thinking ahead towards a giant move, it won't fit in the car, so it must go.

Great idea got a thread NewLifeToday. Good job on getting rid of a useful cart!
I’m tossing my bathroom scale. I thought it needed a battery so I moved it to another room until I could find the batteries. Found the batteries, tried several and it didn’t work. Oh, the on switch is broken. So I put it back in bathroom. Just saw it now and thought wth? Why? It doesn’t work. Going out now. It’s amnesty because I was tempted to put it in fix it box and try to fix it. I need to be real, last week I transferred the contents of my fix it box to a 18 gallon tote, then collected overflow from box and put in tote. Tote is so full, I can’t put the lid on. When will I ever get around to fixing what's in there? Do I need to add something that I don’t even know how to fix (it’s a digital scale).

Amnesty recently on items in fridge, medicines I wouldn't use, miscellany in the bathroom, and amnesty on perfectly sorting the trash and recycling.
Amnesty helps me. Yes, helps with going forward.

I took amnesty on giving that nice cart to someone. Giving her something very nice put some healing into that dynamic. To have some healing there was more important to me than finding a place to use the cart. Took amnesty on having the "perfect" reactions to someone in a challenging situation yesterday. It felt really good to not put pressure on myself to find the "perfect" words at the "perfect" time which would make everything "perfect".... Taking more amnesty on internet activities, as well. I can send kind thoughts and best wishes without having to click and post so much.

Amnesty is lovely.
I donated a book I had thought for years that I must keep. Donated some other things where they were well received. Tossed some food offered to me that isn't helpful for me to eat.
And I am taking amnesty on the twinges of feeling guilty for donating and tossing, those unhelpful feelings being due to the internalized rules/opinions/commands of others.

Gave all black tea to a friend at church. My health required it. I didn't explain anything about what/why/how/etc. to the person who took the tea. She was glad to have it. I just gathered up some gumption and did it.
I took amnesty on having bought expensive teas and not gotten a particular kind of use out of them.

We received a Christmas/sympathy greenery arrangement from someone, which was dropping a lot of needles right out of the box. Right now DH and I are not looking for the extra work of trying to water it without making a mess, and cleaning up more needles. So we trashed it. Gave the included candle to a neighbor. Also we had gotten a vase of flowers from someone. When they finally shriveled, I told DH to throw the vase out, too. Don’t need the extra work of donating yet another vase.
