Good Morning - I hope this week is better than my weekend! The hospital was ready to discharge my dad yesterday and I was anxious to get hm home before the snow got much worse. We got him dressed and ready to go and the doctor and nurse came rushing back in saying the facility could not take him back until the care coordinator or nurse reviewed his care plans. #1 - nothing in his care changed except an antibiotic was prescribed #2 - there are always nurses on site as they are constantly administering meds #3 - these staff are always supposed to be "on call" even though they never return calls when called after hours
So he went back to bed and I went home.
DH is looking for his work winter coat. I remember him packing it up in a tote with his insulated overalls but last night we could not find it. He found the tote with the overalls but not the coat. So of course that meant we had to go through every pile in the bedroom. He is convinced I purposely lost it. We went through all of the piles. Of course I am finding things I forgot I had. At one time the pile of boxes toppled over on me. This is disgusting.
So I came to work and will leave when the hospital (hopefully) calls to discharge him. My supervisor is in a rough mood. She just lost her husband and really does not even want to come to work most days. I really think I am leaving. And not for that new job. Just leaving.

Hello lennon , Diane, ohblondie peaceseeker and all to come! ohblondie I hope they sort out your dad's care. I remember w/my parents realizing the health care continuum is held together by bubblegum and the dedicated work of family members! discharging from one place to another was always so random and crazy. I looked back and realized I never posted on the weekend thread. I was really struggling with the nasty co-worker comments at the meeting, took the wind out of my sails for sure. But I did get some Christmas shopping done, got groceries, went to church, cleaned litter, walked puppy at our park both days ... all the usuals. My biggest accomplishment this weekend was getting to the laundromat for the dryer. I washed DD bedding as boycat sleeps on it all the time, and I wanted her bed to be fresh and clean. So I changed her bedding and also mine. Was so nice to sleep in a fresh bed last night as the cats are always on it with those little paws that have been in litter boxes ugh!!!! I am a football fan so that eats up a chunk of the weekend and adds stress! If you are not a football fan you have far more peaceful Sundays than me!! today is a big day for me as I took a half day and will go pick up DD this afternoon! Yay. This house has not one Christmas decoration up, so I hope that is what we can do tonight. It is hard with puppy for any of our indoor stuff. this morning I am working from home because I need to be home w puppy so I can do the trip to DD and back later. I got up early and I made a crock pot soup, DD's favorite, so it will be our dinner tonight. puppy got in DD room this morning and made a mess. So over lunch hour I want to: clean up puppy mess put new lightbulbs in DD room ceiling lamp take puppy for a walk clean off dining room table vac LR I can take a slightly extended lunch as i will be on vacation time I found a remote job on line with a vendor who pitched us awhile ago. We ended up not buying but I did learn about the product. It is a job I could do for sure based on my skill set. I think I will apply because the salary listed will be a huge increase and I could use the money. I prefer hybrid over fully remote but I also think it would have its benefits. I also asked a former colleague to be a reference today for that other big job. I need to line up one more reference. I am pretty sure I will apply. It is a national search so my prospects are low for sure, but I guess just sending in some documents will be a step. ohblondie I can relate to your desire to just leave! If you can maybe you should. Life is too short. and our healthy active years go fast! I am torn about leaving as there are good things but there are bad. Also Chaos is getting a new boss and her job is fragile and I know she'd throw me under the bus to save her own skin in a heartbeat. I have witnessed her doing just that.

Good morning ohblondie, PS, and bree!
He is convinced I purposely lost it.
I'm sure this helped your mental state when you're dealing with your job and your parents' issues. I was going to say hang on til the end of the year but I remember you saying you don't get Christmas bonuses!
Bree, wow, this is early for your daughter to be off already, I assume she goes back right after New Year's Day?
our healthy active years go fast
That is the truth!

Good morning everypony!
thanks for kicking off the week, lennon Yes to exploring options.
DVD doesn't want to advertise the decor because we have not done the merry-go-round. I think its so sad that he cannot show off what he has already done because of the ideal he has in his head. who knows what will happen next year.
The show we went to yesterday was kind of disappointing; still I am glad we went. The restaurant was a hit as strange a venue as it was. I want to do something fun today. Maybe decorating will be fun. I need to sweep/vacuum and mop the floors first.
DONE: took early med
made coffee
started dishes
made bed updated log checked online balance checked email checked calendar
ON DECK: finish dishes
sweep/vacuum mop put stuff on table away break down table rearrange furniture set up tree
ERRANDS:
post office grocery return
DPs for dinner and news?

mylittlescholar maybe there will be word of mouth advertising, people who see it may post to Facebook. Diane - this is finals week, she has a final but it is on line so she will do it at home. last day of classes was last week. she'll be home for quite a bit of January too! happy dance. I took a break to change a light bulb. that should be easy right? well DD has an overhead light so I have to stand on a chair and uscrew (Shutting puppy out) and then I put in two new light bulbs and ... no light. So I tested the old bulbs and they work in other outlets. So I put the lamp cover back on and I'll have to call an electrician at some point. Then I decided to put a new light bulb in a hallway light, another scary thing of standing on a chair and unscrewing three little screws and taking off the globe --these are old lights -- I am guessing they make easier fixtures in new houses?? This time the new bulb worked and I managed to get the screws in. it took me way longer than just saying "changed some light bulbs!' did some work work next take puppy for a walk

Good morning scholar!
Bree, I hated those globe light fixtures--I love old things but those were not user friendly, having to put screws in while holding the bulb up (balancing on a ladder) and no clear indication of when the screws are in properly. I did one the wrong way once and left the room and the globe crashed to the floor! Thankfully the cats were not under it at the time.
Next:
Take dog out and feed her Take garbage and recycling out Check for mail and packages Start load of laundry--couch covers

Hi all, Today's been a rough one. The winter weather has caused issues here. My car door froze open this morning and took a good whole to sort, making me late for work. I then had a row with mum, which is definitely going to be something to unpick in therapy this week. Somewhere along the way I seem to have pulled a painful muscle. Definitely one of those days.
Even if I didn't achieve much in the house today, I tidied a room at work for a new colleague starting tomorrow. It was quite amusing to see how my "clean desk" colleague who retired left stuff everywhere and I was throwing out printed emails from 2013....
Done: Ordered mum's groceries Emptied bathroom trash Achieved dining table zero Recycled ice packs from delivery
To do: Set out clothes for tomorrow

Hi reve, ugh, not a good day at all. Hopefully tomorrow will be better!
I worked on cards after lunch, but somehow still haven't finished them, I still have the ones I want to enclose a letter with so those will go out later in the week. I took the dog out a couple of times and watched a Christmas movie too.
Now I have to return a phone call and then it will be time for dinner.
