Let it snow!
I looked outside a little while ago and there are snow showers. Of course, I think they are delightful!

baby it's cold outside!!
we are getting hit with a storm!
I am going to order a pizza for dinner, living large! we are going to decorate our Christmas tree tonight!
my work day had some turns and twists. a crisis popped up, was dealt with.
I took puppy for a walk to our park before sunset. We were the only ones there for part of it, there were one or two other human/dog combos for some of it. puppy was so full of joy -- cold and snowy. she just kept leaping for the sheer joy of being alive. I let her sniff whatever she wanted as long as she wanted. on the way home, we stopped at the pet store for some food and a bone to chew. The other shoppers there were just delighted with puppy's enthusiastic greeting!
Earlier today the public works project reached my humble abobe. We had men unexpectedly show up and ask for access to my basement. I said ok it is kind of a mess, the guy was like it is wonderful compared to what I have seen. puppy was able to greet the men.
I think puppy may have had one of the best days of her life -- a long walk in the park, a visit to the pet store, a new chew bone, and workmen coming in the house. It does not get better than that!!

Winter weather is bringing out the music in us!
I had dinner and I think I'm going to go to bed a little early tonight, I woke up at 3am this morning and couldn't fall back asleep. I had decent sleep the prior two nights though, so in general I think it's slowly getting better.

This evening has been busy preparing for a bake sale tomorrow, not ideal as I'm now fairly confident there is an issue with our oven!

So our big snow event has turned into a non-event. So far anyway. We did get a couple of inches over night and it is still snowing. but the massive amounts we were supposed to wake up to did not appear. I guess we could still get massive amounts - but the snow is too light and slow to accumulate into much. Let's wait for my snow report tomorrow before I cancel this storm!
I made it to work safe and sound. I am one of a few - I think many people stayed home as schools closed in anticipation of a great deal of snow. And maybe the hill towns and the adirondacks are getting more.
I have a big meeting at 11am. I am well prepared for that meeting. But no matter how prepared I think I am - it seems like a question comes in from out of left field.
Today might be a good time to focus on my desk area. I have misplaced a book of checks. I dont think it is here at work but it would make me feel better if I cleaned out and around my desk area. And the universe might smile on me for doing this and lead me to those checks!
OK - there's no time like the present!

Oh, that's exciting reve, you should be able to get a lot done at home!
Ohblondie, hopefully most of the storm will pass you by. Our very light snow flurries resulted in a coating of snow over the lawns and cars, but nothing on the sidewalks or streets this morning, and although they say more snow showers are possible I don't think they'll amount to much. I'm looking at the forecast for next week and thinking I'll try for a shopping walk early in the week to stock up--that will let me stay home during the frigid cold that's on the way, plus avoid the pre-Christmas shopping crowds that'll be out the second half of the week.
I slept well last night so I hope that translates into a productive day.

one half of the desk is partially done. I wiped it all down as the dust and coffee stains were making me crazy. I am attacking the piles of paper. Tossing old receipts with abandon! I found a $50 check in the process! but not the missing checkbook  |

hi glad the storm was not as bad as expected! ohblondie finding $50 check is nice! hope you find your book I am a bit drowsy as I have been staying up too late watching netflix! so far today I fed the animals and took puppy to daycare. I love that moment of saying "daycare" to her, as she will smile and prance and wag her tail and go to the door. so cute. she sees me packing her lunch and gets this inquisitive look on her face and i say "daycare." I try not to say it until I am almost ready to walk out the door as she is so eager to go. after the daycare drop off, I did a quick shop at posh grocery store which I rarely get to nowadays. it is so pretty and extravagant for Christmas, it was a pleasure to be there! I had to get catfood and litter, and I picked up a few things but not too many as they are so pricey now.
Now I am trying to focus on work. have one meeting and one webinar.
Sadly a colleague's spouse died, so I will go to a wake if weather holds.
I have so much to do work and life! Our tree is up but no ornaments yet. tonight! we both were just tired.
meanwhile a lamp of mine died. It is a pole lamp - not sure what to call it, long pole with pretty glass top. it started leaning wildly and I was afraid it would crash and break so it is in the garage for trash pick up. I will buy a new one this weekend. I hate gloomy rooms.
I am not looking forward to my meeting led by Chaos. she over promises to people and then dumps the over promise on my team. last week she told a group I was working on a big project, I piped up and said I was not, as it was not official or approved and I did not want to set false expectations. yesterday she told me I should have said oh yes it is coming along. sigh.
here is how chaos makes me crazy (one of the ways) -- she asked for project x to be done in March. So we planned for that and scheduled work flow around it. yesterday she asked me where it was, when could she have it, people are asking for it. crazy making.
ugh I don't want to just complain about her! I just don't have enough caffeine to listen to her half truths just yet, so next -- get some coffee

meeting is over. it went well.
I am now eating leftover fruit and chocolate cake (gluten free - does that save any calories?)
Debating if I want to go out to grab a sandwich or just focus on the cake and fruit.
So I decided to go get a small sandwich. While I was out I went to Aldi to get a small grab bag gift. They had wax warmers for $13. score.
I walked back into the office and everyone is leaving early. The snow is coming down quite heavy. I might stay a little bit more but not much more.

Hi Everyone! I am finally off work for holiday - 17 days starting tomorrow.
I do have to do a few things for work while I am off but I can take my time and i need this weekend off. It has been a rough pre-holiday trying to get stuff done.
I am going to start a 🐛 Friday, 🦋 Saturday, 🧚🏻♀️ Sunday - plan and just copy it over to the Weekend thread on Saturday.
My first plan is to eat dinner and then use my new blinds and shades to just shut down house so i can putz about and work late tonight if i feel like it.
1. Eat Dinner
2. Trash
3. Recycle

good afternoon everypony! yay for excited pups and days off! (confidential to b: one benefit of reporting her behavior here is it gives you a chance to affirm reality and fight against gaslighting.) Today the fam came over and DVD took holiday pics in front of the yard decorations. Then went out to the local pizza place. I overslept so it was a bit chaotic, but a fun activity. DVD is so patient with my family. I have a lot of PEEPing to do. I'm sure other urgent stuff. Need to rest up first. at least its bright and sunny outside!
