dtesposito That does seem true about DMil. But she is in good spirits and that's important. She ate well, today, and we'll know more tomorrow. DH and I haven't done hardly anything social for the last few years; so tonight we had dinner at one of our friend's/cousin's house. They invited us late yesterday. We both didn't really want to, but know we need to ... so we accepted and went. It was just the 4 of us and later her son & his girlfriend joined us. It was relaxed and nice to just be with them. DH & I both ate entirely too much. Dieting starts tomorrow (for the millionth time). 1 paper into recycle bag 2 packagings into trash Fed dog her other 2 feedings Meds to dog. cd

Morning, everyone, and thanks for the greeting, Diane!
I was unable to sleep at 2 am and wrote up the following to do list for today.
I seek support and encouragement as this is the longest to do list I have had since April preparing for DD's baby shower. Trying my best to keep my confidence and energy up today.
To do:
First, remain calm
High priority, larger and more urgent tasks:
Assuage perfection paralysis and start the painting this morning
Priority painting area: Entry way
Clean and touch up door to room; paint closet door
Sand problem areas of window sills
Paint window sills and trim
Find the curtains
Find and wash sheets
Touch up bathroom painting
Replace burnt out socket (DH)
Set up new floor lamp
Time sensitive:
Morning: Take bed to LF then pick up headboard
Evening: Pick up bed rail at 7:45/8 pm
Smaller tasks:
Air out bedspread
Spot clean IKEA chairs and sofa cushions
Find art; hangers for art: Roma in entry way? Paris duo on far side of long wall.
Clean problem area
Look in attic(s); store LT storage in them; bolt them down
Put luggage rack in closet
Wooden hangers in closet
Iron board and steamer?
Ask guest if he would like Keurig in room
Welcome basket
Wifi printed or just text it to the guest?
Blankets zippered clear storage container?
Dust bookshelf
Wide area vacuuming (DH)
Windex windows in LR, BR, bathroom mirror
Remove extraneous in BR
Tidy up BR shelve items
Tidy up BR shampoo etc
Final tasks before arrival (since we'll be walking on the bathroom floor until final tasks are done):
Mop the bathroom floor
Other less critical items for today:
Surge protector?
Find drain stopper etc?
Tidy up items in bathroom cabinets and drawers
Remove wooden cabinet from BR?
Wash walls on landing; move shelf back to it; tasteful minimalist décor on it and elsewhere
Common area to do list:
Tidy kitchen
Tidy fridge
Tidy area by hall closet
Keep current with litter boxes

Good morning CP! You certainly have a well thought out list, I always think that's half the battle. It helps with anxiety too because you aren't afraid of forgetting things. I know there are some people who have anxiety just looking at a list, but I find them vital. When is your guest arriving?
Next:
10 minutes PEEPing Set up tally sheet for 2023 reading Start dishes soaking Delete 30 emails

Thank you so much for your encouraging words, Diane!
I concur with you regarding lists. I need to create them more frequently, esp. when I'm not in crisis mode. I also need to keep my lists accessible. I tend to write them, then misplace them. : (

I went to Costco and got things on sale, mainly lotions and HBA. I only needed one thing and came out with many that i already have. Now i am feeling remorse for buying what we really don't need. Signs of over buying returning.
On a good note I got gas which is down to $3.04 a gallon, glad i waited until the new year I found a UPS store fairly near me and was able to do a return that should have been done a while back I took the cardboard and broke it down to recycling Dh was taken to the Lab for his tests and is now resting. I didn't eat out and made a nice coffee when i got home.
Now i feel hungry and will raid the fridge for leftovers.

Hello oust! Were the items you bought on sale or something? As long as you will use them before they spoil, it's not the end of the world. Next time you go to the store check your everyday supplies and when you see you'll have extras you won't buy more. Sometimes I get to the store and can't remember if I already have something so I buy it again...it works better if I make a specific list and check all my regular stuff before I go.
I'm stopping for lunch and a tv break.

oust Years ago, we ended up with so much Costco excess that I made a Do Not Buy list that I kept in my wallet. I think I did that after my husband came home with a bottle of hair conditioner that lasted about six years. No need to kick yourself. There's something about entering the Costco Zone--hypnosis? Big things (and multipacks!) in a cavernous space look small until you take them home.

Hello everyone. Emptied kitchen trash & replaced bagDH took bag of trash to outside canDressed2shoes, teeth brushed, contacts in.Morning medsmeds to DogFed DogDH & I visited Dmom. Cognitively she wasn't as well, today as yesterday, but she was very talkative. Wide awake. It's very hard for me to figure out how to relate to her and talk with her. What to say, how to react, what to do, etc. We have an electronic photo frame -- so looked at the photos as they were going. Mom looked good. She was still liking the Fidget Dog Hand Mitt. We were glad to see that the caregivers gave it to her so she could put her hands in it and/or fiddle with it. Also, she had one of the new pairs of socks on that my Sil had sent. They fit her & she likes them. So, I will take the rest of them over to her place. She'll have more than enough socks, now. Yesterday, singing to & a little with her... was good. But, not today. She said one thing at one point that tugged at my heartstrings. She said, "I think I can go home now". Thankfully, she didn't wait for a response & moved right on... But, Went to Walgreens. Bought shampoo/conditioner, antifrizz/detangler spritz and Sudafed from the pharmacy. Haven't had to buy it in years-- weird statement they had me sign. I did it, tho. (had to do with falsifying their log... I guess stating that I haven't bought any more Sudafed lately or something like that... I don't even get to see their log, but it is punishable to falsify their log... Hmmmm. interesting, and I don't like signing stuff that I don't know about. Oh well... did it anyway.) Cd
