candoI don't know anything about why you have to sign that log, but drugstores started getting very careful about Sudafed a couple of decades ago because people were buying it in quantity to make methamphetamine. That's when they moved that stuff adjacent to the pharmacy.

goldenthreads Yeah, I knew that about Sudafed. I didn't sign their logs, it was an electronic statement on the credit card thingy that I had to sign in order for the credit card purchase to be run. I never even saw the log. I think it was a governmental requirement that we have to sign that statement, but it referred to agreeing that falsifying information in their log (which I did not get to see) is a crime or something like that. The pharmicist stated that they write in their log based on what we tell them. I did not tell them anything about when I last had Sudafed or purchased Sudafed. And, as far as touchless... so you tap the credit card, but then have to sign the thing with your finger. Anyway, I'm just complaining....

Hi cando!
She said "I think I can go home now"
Oh, that's so sad. It's good that she doesn't dwell on that, I remember reading that gentle distraction would be the way to respond, although I suppose that doesn't always work.
I went down to the basement to start taking apart a cabinet, and now I see that it's not in as bad shape as I thought it was--I thought the bottom was rotted out but it's not, it's a little damaged but still stands solidly--so now I'm not sure I want to get rid of it. I did take the doors off it though, if I decide to keep it and use it it will just be as a bookshelf.
Next:
Sterilize dish sponge and wipe out microwave Wash some dishes Change the 3 calendars I have so far for 2023--more on the way Delete 30 emails

Done: Flipped and folded clean laundry Emptied dishwasher Load of laundry Changed kitchen towels, which is something I'm only usually prompted to do when they fall on the floor! Proud of myself for that one!
Two more days of holiday, and downstairs is pretty tidy and clean, so setting myself a target to do some work on the middle floor on each of the next two days.

that is heatbreaking, ((( cando)))
I finally crawled out of my cave long enough to realize I have guests coming tomorrow! So I've been focusing on child-height tidying. Then I found "groceries" which turned out to be gifts for 2. Someone in Lady Di's moms' group left them on the porch for him.
As the giftwrap supplies are still downstairs, I am wrapping them. More fun that way! and some cosmetics I got in my stocking, for her. I have plenty!
I am also prepping the shoes for return. I have a couple things on my list for tomorrow morning.

I cleared out the junk drawer. “What?!?” you say. “It took a whole day to clean out one drawer?” Sadly, yes. That’s why we called it the JUNK drawer.
It wasn’t emptying the drawer that took a day, it was figuring out what the heck some of those little things were. “Oh, yeah, that’s the Shark Repellent Bat Spray that Batman dropped the last time he and Robin came by—but what on earth is THIS?”
We had 5 landline phone cords but there are only 3 jacks in the house. I think the cords loved each other very, very much and so produced baby cords.

In the midst of all the above, I discovered a serious water leak from the roof. Chaos ensues. Details will be in my new blog, "An Open Door..."

I cleared out the junk drawer. “What?!?” you say. Actually my "What?!?" was more focused on -- you only have one junk drawer? I am impressed. I'd have to really stop to think and count all of mine. : (
