Oh I had to check what holiday it was. Thought at first it was "still drink after new year weekend".🤪 Happy Martin Luther Day, in that spirit I hope we can all move a bit closer to our dreams today..

I woke up way before it was time to take the dog out this morning so I just went upstairs until it was time to take her out.
I realized that her wanting to go out so often was my fault. My shopping friend calls me twice a week, in the afternoon, and after the dog interrupted the call a couple of times by needing to go out before we were finished talking I started taking her out before those calls. That was enough to throw the whole schedule off, and when I stepped back and looked at the situation I realized that I just needed to put her back on schedule. So since last Sunday I've been taking her out at almost exactly the same time, four times a day, like before. If she whines in between I just tell her no. She has pretty much adjusted back to the schedule, and only occasionally tries to get me to take her out early. When we do go out, she always explores the yard first, checks to see if the neighbor is out, etc. before she actually pees or poops. And most nights she still waits 10-11 hours overnight before needing to go out in the morning. So, I know it's not a weak bladder, at least, not yet at this point in her life. This means I have to take her out while on the phone with my friend on the days when she calls to keep on schedule, but that's something I'll just have to do.
TO DO:
10 minutes on desk files
Wash some dishes Restock water in fridge Delete 10 hard emails

Hi everyone! I'm terribly annoyed with myself, as I was exhausted, both emotionally and physically, last night, but forced myself to get some tasks done to post, and then fell asleep the moment my head hit the pillow without posting!
Anyway, here are last night's tadas, and having just got up, I'll start thinking on some for today.
Done: External lights taken down and coiled for storage, now letting batteries run down Achieved dining table zero Went through 2 bookcases, a set of drawers and a bag that makeup our "pantry" and threw out a lot of expired food - I think 7 trash bags, a mixture of larger ones and the smaller sturdier ones for heavy cartons and tins Wiped down all shelves and the ornaments on top Reorganised what was left into one shelf and the drawers

Hi Everyone! Thanks for getting the weekend started lennon ! I was at the ER yesterday as Sleep number bed (who have taken months to fix my bed) left front door wide open and cats got out (never been outside before) and it was a disaster. My contractor had told them 5 to 6 times please keep door shut and dont use front door, use the house/garage door as it is closer to truck and if by some omg door gets left open then cats are just in attached garage with garage door shut. (They have never gone outside and have not even acted like they wanted to but just in case). I was working from home while they and contractor were fixing bed (with surrogate part as even though my bed is not that old they don’t make the right part any more and the workers don’t have any idea how to fix bed at all. They just had a facetime going with someone in office and he was trying to tell them how but they had no clue and my contractor who is engineer had to actually do it). So i hear weird noise and stick head outside office door and see front door is wide open and it sounds like something is killing my cats on the front porch and we do have coyotes around here. Turns out it was my cats in a serious fight as i think smart cat was trying to keep his brother from running off and had him trapped under bench. I managed to get both cats back in house but one (the one under bench) had a massive panic attack and shredded my hands and arm (blood everywhere). I had to go ER right away and it ended not needing stitches (but it did end up bleeding for over 8 hours in some places on arm) and had to get tetanus shot and two antibiotics. It got infected quickly - even while i was sitting in ER. So today my arm and hand is going down but still red and slightly swollen the streaks are going back down arm too. Cats are in two separate rooms as when they got back in house the smarter one was so angry about the situation and I think the fact his brother shredded me with blood all over everywhere (thank goodness it was just on tile floor which cleans up) that he kept growling and hissing at his brother. Vet said keep them apart for two days to calm situation down. Also the panicked cat now has a criminal record as the animal control had to be called and interview me in ER. Kitty had all shots and gets to stay home but police animal control will be over in 10 days just to look him over though he said it was just procedure as Kitty had rabies vaccine and had never been outside before. I am so glad I keep their shots up even though they just stay in house or they would have had to take kitty and keep him or do something worse. My Hand/arm are still red in spots and swollen but at least it is not massively swollen on my right wrist and the streaks that started up arm are going back down. I hate —— and I mean hate sleep number bed and will never ever buy from them again. I wished G-d (Karma) will give them all they deserve and more. Their beds are great but their customer service is negative 5. When I looked on line to leave a review it is no wonder they don’t care about customer service as their number are already in the trash at 1.5 stars with so many complaints.

Oh TML, that is my biggest nightmare scenario, animals getting out. And I have learned in my life to never, never, NEVER trust anyone to close a door even though you stand right there and say CLOSE THE DOOR. If a person's brain isn't wired to be aware of animals escaping, they never, never remember. How awful for you, and for the cats.
I'm sure you're right about one cat keeping the other on the porch, I saw an online video of a cat and a dog sitting on a front porch, and another cat comes up to the porch growling so the first cat starts going down the stairs growling. The dog goes and picks up the porch cat by the scruff of the neck and carries him back upstairs, to keep him out of trouble!
I had a landlord once that wanted to get in to fix something but didn't have my key, so I stayed home all day for them and they didn't come. So the next day I went to work, figuring they would call me when they set up another time, but they somehow found a key that they didn't know they had, and opened all doors to all apartments at the same time since they were working on a doorbell thing between floors. My little mentally slow cat got out into the hallway and went and hid in the downstairs apartment. When I got home I could see that they had been in and my cat was missing. I was running around the neighborhood in a huge panic for 4 hours until the son of the downstairs neighbor saw one of the signs I had immediately put up outside and called me and we discovered we were in the same building. So it all worked out in the end but those 4 hours probably took 10 years off my life, the thought of my little special needs cat outside in the winter... (I keep saying little because he never grew larger than a 7-month old because of his brain damage.)
I'm so glad you saw what was happening quickly and got them back inside. And realized right away that you needed to go to the ER. You get to sit and relax and heal this weekend!

Diane I am so glad you found your kitty! That is horrible that they came in without you there. I can understand the losing years of life. It makes me want to cry just thinking of your poor little cat lost and scared. I am so glad it turned out okay.
Diane it was a disaster and one of my worst fears. First Mate Kitty got out a couple of times but he was originally feral so he was interested in getting out but the last time he did that he decided he preferred the house and never tried again. The boys have never been outside at all. They were rescues but were always house cats - born indoors. That door must have been open for a while and the not as smart adventurer cat I am sure is the one who went out with his brother going out to save him. It was really close to losing them if not for smart cat keeping brother penned down and making a large racket to get me to come running.
If the bed breaks again I am throwing it out and getting a new bed. I told sleep number supervisor that today. I am done with them. The fact they stopped making part for my bed and then didnt even realize it and sent out a surrogate part that the computer said was current available part with no idea how to make it work. Then eventually they figured out that part was not available and sent out surrogate part again and had no idea how to fix bed at all. Also the guys they sent did not speak English, Spanish, or etc. My contractor had to talk to them in hand signals. Their supervisor over phone spoke a little English so contractor talked to him and he talked to them about holding parts of bed for contractor to fix bed. My contractor fixed bed by using a knife to modify surrogate part enough that it sort of works with them holding stuff for him and it was a work around using the not quite right part they sent out. I can see if bed was really old and near end of warranty but it isnt. If the remote breaks yes I will get a new remote but if anything else breaks that requires them to come out - I am done and that bed is gone. The person they sent the time before last was great and realized that the part they sent was not right part for bed at all and sent message that they needed to send correct part except they dont make correct part so they sent out wrong part again for the next guys to try to figure out.
I am going to take it easy but work slowly to get house in order. Just do what I can and use it as cleaning therapy. I have gloves for different areas in house so hands and arm need not be exposed. I have three days with no one coming over that i can just putz around. The worst part of it will be arm hurting and the cats being in different rooms and keeping those doors shut. Adventurer (but sort of dim kitty) really is missing his brother and has forgotten and has no idea it seems what is going on. The smart cat was so ticked off. Last night he hissed at his brother and growled like crazy and kept trying to just get away and ignore him while his brother kept trying to cuddle and beg forgiveness. It was not going well as they got in another fight and several almost fights again. Reason I called vet for advice and they said two day vacation and if it keeps up will need more time and maybe a calming pill.

Hear and read through all of the posts because I am desperate for motivation. I have soooooo much to do and I have been awake for six hours. In those six hours, I have just been laying in my recliner playing on my iPad and watching tv. I am frustrated with myself, but I have zero motivation. Zero.
I am so sorry about the cats and ER visit, TML. I hope your hands and arms heal quickly and infection free.
Now to find some motivation …. Ugh …
