TML, I hope you wrote a review about the bed. And hopefully kitty will relax, you never know what their reactions are going to be.
I kept imagining my little guy out in the snow, freezing to death. He would have no idea how to avoid a car, or anything--his reaction time to everything was off by several seconds--when I would call for dinner, the other cats would run into the room immediately and little guy would come in 10 seconds later. If he was running (slowly) playing with the others, he would run right up to a wall, stop just in time, look at it for a little while, then slowly turn around and go the other way. This was all the result of brain damage from being thrown out of a window by a child when he was a very small kitten. He just brought out every protective instinct and the thought of him outside alone just killed me.
When I went to the downstairs apartment he was underneath the guy's kitchen table in a corner, and hissed at me when I went under to get him. Obviously he had no idea what was going on, but he recovered quickly when I got him back home. The other thing about this was, the man in the apartment came home to a closed door and a cat in his apartment and he had no idea where it came from! He called his son and said he was going to have to call Animal Control to come get the cat the next day since it was hissing at him. Luckily the son drove over to see the cat (I'm guessing he thought his father was maybe hallucinating or something) and saw my sign right outside the building as he came in.
That night was part of my reason to buy a condo instead of stay in an apartment--with a condo you have more control. Repair people might still have to come in unexpectedly but a condo board has more respect for the owners and there would be more communication. Plus with my small, unorganized condo board I avoided giving them a key for all the years I lived there, specifically because of my cats. If there was a true emergency they could have broken the door down, and I felt better without a key floating around who knows where. Especially since people DO NOT KNOW HOW TO CLOSE A DOOR.

Good morning TT, can you make a game out of it? Use dice or something? Or do your ring around the house!

Wow, TML, what a time you've been having! Hope the bed gets sorted soon - definitely time for some pointed emails to the company or blasting on social media as that is a terrible service, and their negligence has caused medical issues for you and the cats! Poor little guys. Diane, reading about your little guy too got me all emotional! I love cats but I honestly think I couldn't emotionally cope with them because I'd be too worried all the time!
Done: Took the big stash of toilet roll that was stopping master bathroom door from opening properly and split it between downstairs bathroom and en suite. Unpackaged it downstairs so now there is a whole tower of it emerging from our little box I bought to organise it. Changed towels in downstairs bathroom Wiped down sink Replenished soap in soap dispenser General PUPA in downstairs bathroom Changed kitchen towels Load of laundry Cleared and folded dry laundry and it is all ready to go upstairs so will ask boyfriend next time he passes Set out clothes for tomorrow
Time to hydrate!

Wow! These cat posts TML oh my! Hope you heal fast and cats regroup Diane your poor little guy glad that the story had a happy ending I am flat out l a z y today Maybe cuz yesterday was so hectic as in addition to working I was a chauffeur: Drove DD to work 6 am Drove puppy to daycare 7:45 am Picked up DD 2 pm Took DD to hair appointment at 5 pm Picked up puppy at 6:30 pm Picked up DD at 8 pm So it does not seem like I won mega millions! I did a run to grocery store yesterday too and bought A ticket Today I was excited because a groomer was going to come and trim girlcat claws. But she rescheduled til Friday due to Covid. Girlcat is nearly 19 and her claws now need extra care. I am worried because I think she has a slight limp. Going to the vet is so traumatizing fir her I’d rather skip I did contact another place. I did do the dishes today but that is it I will shortly take puppy for a walk based on weather and the need to pick DD up from work at 4 pm. It is nippy at 19 degrees F. Puppy gets energized by the cold! Me not so much Trying not to overeat today.

Hi reve and bree!
Well, it looks like I have another customer service nightmare ahead. Last spring I moved an IRA from a bank that wanted to renew it at 0.1 percent interest with the online banks were paying much more. I'm sure I complained about it at the time because instead of sending the check to the other bank they sent the check to my home address in a hand written envelope. However, the check was made out to the other bank, so I mailed it to them. That should count as a rollover so I shouldn't have to pay any tax on it. I just got a statement from the old bank showing that the account is closed, and it's described as "distribution". That's the term they use to mean they paid the money to me, so I have to consider it income and pay tax on it.
I just called the number on the statement, and after 15 minutes on hold they told me I had to call another number, which I recognize as the name of this bank before it changed to a different name. Although, I thought it changed a few years ago, not during this past year. I called the number, and got a message saying "this is_________bank (the same name as the place I just called) please call back Monday through Friday. Ugh. It was not a lot of money, so I don't know if it will make a difference--my only income now is Social Security, and that's not a large enough amount to pay tax on, and interest income--which isn't that much either since interest rates didn't start to go up until the fall.
But it just figures that I would have another issue that will probably take a long time to correct. I guess it's possible that they call any closed IRA a "distribution" but that's not the terminology the IRS uses. Okay, I will try not to worry about it now, I'll have to try this other number again on Tuesday, maybe this bank has two separately named divisions or something and she did give me the correct number to call.
Next:
10 minutes PEEPing 10 minutes on cupboard Make shopping list for next trip Delete 10 hard emails

Oh my, TML and Diane, I feel bad reading your cat stories. I had rescue- adopted my Mocha and Latte about 16 months ago when they were 11. Brothers too. Mocha got out one night while I was unpacking a Chewy box on the porch. It was too heavy to take inside. He somehow got out during a second or two when I opened the door. He went down the steps and to the next house. There was traffic on the road and I was terrified because I couldn't find him. I finally saw him and sort of smushed his big self down in an attempt to pick him up. Someone called from across the street and asked if I needed help. YES !!. I managed to pick up all 20 pounds of him , but it was an iffy situation as he was scared and struggling. The sweet neighbor , a nice young lady, grabbed my flashlight and walked behind me , even as I struggled up the steps. It felt like I would never get up with him. Finally I was able to "dump" him in the door. It was terribly scary. I have been fanatical about the door ever since and Mocha never has tried that again. He is the ornery one . ( Latte would never have done that.).
Diane , I can sympathize with you about your experience with your little brain damaged kitty. How SCARY !! And TML, I sure hope you heal well. I bet you are sore . Glad you quickly went to the ER; smart lady. At least your boys are safely inside now, and I hope they calm down. I am sorry you got all clawed up from the panic of your kitty. And I hope the "smart" cat stops holding a grudge.
I , too, am such a cat lover. I never let the cats outside and , except for the time Mocha got out, they never show any interest in leaving. I don't think their previous owner probably let them go out either. That lady died and these boys were alone for about 10 days before anyone came. They had gone down to "skin and bones. ", although when I took them , the foster Mom had fattened them up nicely. It saddens me when I see them eat and think how awful it must have been when they were in that situation. Sad for the owner too, of course.

It seems we all have an escaped cat story! Catcats, 20 pounds--you must have had adrenaline to help you pick him up! Do you mean you adopted the cats when they were 11 years old?
Doors right to the outside make me so nervous, cats are so fast. Dogs too. I'm glad that both doors to this house have entry porches so that only one door has to be open at a time.
Today is a phone call day so I'm going to eat lunch now and then will be on the phone for the rest of the afternoon. Well, most of it, I hope to get a few more things done later today.

It’s almost four o’clock. Still haven’t done anything more. Depressed.
I could ring around the house if I could motivate myself out of my chair. …

catcats I am glad you got Mocha home! It is a slow day today. I am just laying around today mostly. Once I realized Monday was a holiday I decided I could take a day off.

Good afternoon everypony!
(((@kittymoms)))
IKWYM, TwinkleToes. I am trying to reset my dopamine pathways.
the house is a big mess as I moved holiday boxes for the attic to make a pathway for K's rollator. glad I could provide her with a shower but DVD took me to a bakery for a thank you breakfast and lox and bagels are my favorite but high in histamines. brain fog is so frustrating! I can imagine how hard chemo fog must be, peaceseeker.
I just want to curl up and go to bed. It is probably going to rain almost straight through the weekend but then a sunny day on Tuesday! the whole region will be out and about.
I made a date to watch a movie at DPs tonight. so at least I will get dressed for that.
DONE: made coffee updated log phone call w/ D and M checked online balance checked calendar checked email
