Had my two hour meeting. Was not bad. A good vendor was there so it helped. Had second meeting
Now I just nuked a soup for lunch Asked DD to walk puppy- she will. Puppy is so cute she is not a morning pup. She was up with me this morning and I let her out into the fenced backyard and she stayed out for a bit then came in and snuggled on her loveseat, head on the sofa arm. So cute!!!
I decided that I want to stop grumbling so much! I am sitting at a job in a heated office eating warm soup for lunch and getting paid for it. That is amazing blessing.
This is not a grumble I hope but an update. Country relative who needs a lot of help texted that their spouse was taken by ambulance to the hospital. It is due to a crisis from a chronic health condition but I believe the outcome will be fine. But now relative is alone and vulnerable too. And the hospital discharge will require more chauffeuring in addition to other upcoming medical appointments. I am just concerned this breaking ship is sinking!!
I am going to check my bank balance before my upcoming meeting with Chaos. Two Chaos meetings to go. Ok no grumbles!!!
Chaos mentioned the job that I applied for. Made me wonder if she applied it would be a promotion for her too … interesting!

Bree, I have to laugh at the mental picture of you shimmying into and out of your coat, and yes, shimmy is a word! Do you have a cleaners near you with a tailor? If you ask someone who deals with these things all the times there might be an easy fix for your zipper--especially since the zipper still works, just not the way it's supposed to. And, I think you should complain as much as you need to here, if you unload your frustrations somewhere then you go about the day a little lighter. Better to unload them than to let them get to the exploding point at work! Or anywhere else where that would be detrimental.
I was hoping to totally finish the porch project this morning, I rearranged the last few things where I want them but I still have to mop--but I'm too sore to do that now, I'm taking little shuffling steps because my ankles hurt from walking. I will mop tomorrow.
Now I'm going to have lunch.

I'm not losing something in getting rid of something I'm actually gaining something more valuable.
Wise words, reve! Being able to relax and enjoy your home is worth so much. It's much easier to get rid of things in layers, that's why I say it's a good idea to work on purging stuff frequently, on an ongoing basis. You get better at it as you go along. There will also be good days and bad days--if you find yourself wanting to keep every thing you pick up it's probably a bad day--the next day might be better!
Diane
Heartily agree with all of this! And thank you all for the kind words My main hope for today was to get a lot of the results of my recent work to the recycling centre. The local one is only about 3 minutes drive away, but it's only open Tue/Fri/Sat. Any other day I have to drive further away, and because they shut a bit earlier in the winter months, it's harder to get to after work. I got away from work a little later than I wanted, and phoned boyfriend as agreed. And phoned him. And phoned him. No answer. I pulled into our estate convinced he was in a diabetic coma or something. Nope, just didn't hear his phone, meaning we were running late and only had a few minutes to get to the recycling centre. We arrived....just as the workers were shutting the gates. Even more awkwardly, their truck was in the entrance way and there was a car behind me, so I couldn't turn there, and had to continue on a country road I didn't know well for a while, missing potential turnings in the increasing darkness. Not ideal! Now I have a car full of trash - luckily no food based trash, have to work late tomorrow so Thursday at the earliest if I can get away early enough, but more likely Friday before I can actually properly get rid of things. Done: Load of laundry Laundry from machine to dryer Dry laundry put in hamper and taken upstairs Achieved coffee table zero Achieved dining table zero

Hi reve! Oh, that's frustrating about just missing the recycling center. Hopefully you won't have to give anyone a ride in the next few days!
The latest forecast says we will get 3 inches of snow tomorrow, but there will be snow again on Sunday, and that might be the same amount or more. And then it gets very cold for days in a row.
I did go outside a little while ago and swept out all the seed hulls from the birdseed "pool", of course, I have a little more seed out there because every dusk a pair of Cardinals come to eat. Most birds are in their night time safe place by dusk, these Cardinals come after it's already getting dark, I know they're there because they make their little distinctive peeping noise. I don't like to leave food out overnight, I don't want to attract mice or rats to the porch, but I have to leave a small amount of seed for the Cardinals!
I'm done for the day, I'm happy because I got some work done even though it was a shopping day, but now I have to rest my feet. Especially since I'll have to shovel tomorrow--although 3 inches won't be hard.

Thanks Diane you are so sweet I chuckled as I read your note as my shimmying is kind of comical. I almost got caught shimmying into my coat at the end of the day by the secretary! There is a tailor that I have used- I guess it is worth a try since the zipper is working backwards!
I had two chais meetings then an hour to just sit at my desk quietly and do humble tasks like respond to emails.
Came home Ate leftovers Walked puppy- she is highly energized by the snow and cold.
Now I am on couch under a blanket. I should do at least a few tasks tonight but I hope to get to bed early.

Absolutely Diane! Luckily my colleague who I often gave lifts to moved house last week so he is living much closer and able to take the train now so I should be off the hook!
Done: - Added three more rolls of wrapping paper to my wrapping paper holder. That's full now and I think I need to agree to a no buy challenge for 2023 for wrapping paper and gift bags - Went through a pile of sweaters and have bagged them up for storage, and put two aside to donate - Went through a box of miscellaneous and have accommodated everything in trash, donate or keep boxes. - Went through a box of childhood toys. A few things are being donated, I'm definitely keeping 3 things, and a few are in the Time Will Tell box of toys - Set out clothes for tomorrow
I'm trying to practice letting go with gratitude rather than negative emotions like shame or guilt or feeling abandoned. I took some more photos of the childhood stuff, and sent my mum a picture of a craft I remember us doing together in our kitchen when I was aged about 6. It was emotional but I'm taking it slow and breathing a lot. There is a little more progress which helps as this room is so crammed it is hard to work on an area at a time. I have a friend who may be in the area in mid March and it would mean a lot to be able to offer him a place to stay, so to have my spare room habitable by then would be a big deal for me. It also needs curtains put up as the existing ones fell down months ago.... I'm hoping to get boyfriend's dad to come out and help us put some things like that up on the walls, but I need to be mentally able to let him in to the house first. Slowly but surely we are getting there but there is a long way still to go.
Upcoming tasks for this week: Put things that are mum's in plastic crate and put somewhere out of the way until I can take it to her house Put overflow Time Will Tell toys into lidded crate and put both boxes under the bed for now to create more space to organise

hi all,
that was a fantasy list like I used to make. ADHD med made me anxious. then I learned that a friend in Tennessee died. She was the matriarch for a friend group when I first moved to GA and I really thought she was indestructible. I went back to bed. I just took some headache remedy. begged off an invite to DVD's burrito bar tonight. I need to be with my peeps, but that won't happen anytime soon. I will try to find something wholesome to watch.

Good morning! I woke up to about 2 inches of snow, and it's the heavy, wet kind. I took the dog out and shoveled in the back, then went out right away and shoveled in the front. It's still coming down so at some point I'll have to go out again. It's so pretty outside!
