I'm just winging this, I need to decompress and vent and also NOTICE some of the things I've done in the past two day. Day before yesterday, I got an inspection notice at 8:00 a. M. As I was dropping l.o. off to school. They sneakily gave only 24 hours notice, and due to when I saw the notice, I had about 6.5 hours to prepare. Totally unexpected. Thank heavens I did receive the notice. My house was in a pretty poor condition, I literally power cleaned for just over 7 hours (they gave an hour window to when they might arrive, didn't come right at the start of the time window). I didn't not take really ANY breaks. It's a two bedroom townhouse. So, I'm gonna say like 1 hour each solid for: kitchen, living room, bedroom 1, and less time for bathroom, bedroom two, dining room, foyer/entryway. Also, some time was taking trash to the dumpster, and recycling away, washing dishes which I don't count as "kitchen mess". There was one squalorous incident at least, a puke/bile stain on the vinyl flooring. So they came and didn't say anything disparaging about the state off the place. I got mostly everything off the floors, except for couple random toys on little one's bedroom floor, a small stack of books by my bedside. That was pretty much it. I did get my lease renewed for 6 months, yay! I'm shocked. I took pictures on my phone of the presentation of the place I managed but I was not pleased by a long shot (perfection monster). So, because of yesterday being DOWN to the WIRE with them coming, and things overlapping into today...having gotten DONE today so far: -Took out kitchen trash again and changed bag -returned appointment confirmation call -mailed some mail at post office Put away some clean laundry that was line-hung Laundered an important item that needs washed solo and I need for this weekend -tossed dirty mop water from couple days ago I just stashed before they came -prepared a healthy food snack recipe for the weekend to last several days -will make supper soon, already made lunch and breakkie. -dealt with some groceries that arrived after the inspection (put away) - washed dishes after preparing snack item right after I removed from oven and it cooled took child to walk-in clinic unexpectdedly kept up with random buildup of common areas by decluttering, tossing, washing up, etc. Meal planned because I need more space in freezer so have to use some things things that were bought but not washed got washed and stored back away still need to do: remove skin from roasted eggplant that is cooling in the fridge more laundry, several loads over the weekend including "hospital gear". Wash bathroom sink again wash food prep counters again SELF CARE remember to shower as you have hospital tests and germs will hitch a ride home. Find a solution for dried, irritated hands. Maybe a hand mask? Definitely lotion. Continue setting goals if this didn't make sense to anyone brave enough to read this, it's cause it's my messy brain vomit. Thank you for letting me put all this into the ether, I hope it soaks into me as future knowledge. I don't expect any replies whatsoever! Hope everyone here is finding small successes and progressing. It's a great place here.

I'm so happy for you, faithfulstrange, that your lease has been renewed for another six months!
I did a "special clean up" for company two or three weeks ago. Already, I'm noticing that *IT ALL NEEDS TO BE DONE AGAIN!!* A-r-r-r-g-g-h-h-h!!!!
Oh, well, at least, I *am* noticing it right away this time. That in and of itself is an improvement. Usually, just keeping up with my "dailies" is all that I try to accomplish. Now, I'm already "plotting" how and when I'm going to re-do my "company clean."
It sounds like you are "keeping up" with your recent improvements. Good for you!!!
Welcome to the board.

Today was hard. I cooked, made a bit of a mess doing it, forced myself to clean up some, and there is still more to remedy. Even though my appointment only took around two hours of my day, and I attempted to nap another two, it seems like stuff is quickly piling up, putting me inexplicably into a funk where I feel I'm pressed for time! ! I'm not. I did a load of laundry, balked at that, upon realizing I have to do several more Sunday due to an unplanned (but needed) change of bed sheets. I think I'm building it up in my mind to be horrid. I want it ALL done during the weekend, so I can focus on doing other stuff, stuff outside my own four walls, during the week. But there is still maintenance to be done. My brain telling me, every darn thing is seeming like a chore, isn't helping... Stuff like, getting my child to agree to bath, tasks like tracking my food consumption, wiping the sink out after having done dishes (I flung the cloth I used to wash the dishes to the bottom of the empty sick after I got done, mentally said eff it, and walked away!) just, everything. It doesn't help I could not sleep well last night. I think that makes everything more unbearable. I'm burning out a little, but I'll just have to reset
