Hey guys! It's possible nobody remembers me here. Hell, *I* don't remember me here!
I've been a member since this forum was on squalorsurvivors.com (BTW, what happened to that site? Where did it go?)
I haven't forgotten about this board but honestly I'm not sure why I never posted again after 2014 I looked over my last few posts and I honestly can't remember writing them. That was a crazy time. Hubby and I had been separated for a few weeks when we got back together and I got pregnant right away with number 3. We ended up staying together and we even moved to another state. Our son is now 8 years old. But in early 2021, he left me. Yet another never-saw-it-coming story. I was shocked to learn this happens to so many women. It was a really REALLY tough year after he left having to pick up the pieces and be there for my kids on my own. But I honestly don't want to wallow on that right now. At all.
Instead, I just wanted to pop in and say hello because it has been so sooo long. Most of my old favorite message forums don't even exist anymore so when I need my fix I go on reddit, but this one has stayed the course and I KNOW it's because it's such a supportive community where there is zero judgement between members. (I hope that's still the case!)
The thing that led me back here was that I had started making time-lapse videos again and decided to start a VLOG as well (a much harder endeavor than I imagined) and at the same time I was searching for like-minded people online and ended up thinking...oO" Isn't there a community of people LIKE ME out there? Struggling with the same things? ...like squalor survivors used to be?!" duh...
Anyway, I need to read my old posts to jog my memory and see if any of the old peoples are still around. Feels good to see people are still helping each other out of the mess.

Hey guys!!! I was literally up all night reading stuff (no sleep. so I'm exhausted.. I wish I could say I remember more. I do remember the rat infestation at my old house and me updating every time I caught another one. It turned out there were openings in the roof, I had it repaired and the attic sanitized in 2014. I was SHOCKED to find a link to old before photos of mine on some flikr page. wow.. Thank you on the video. Yeah, I can't believe how old that video is. it's not even 16:9 format but I think it aged ok ....even tho the ex is in it  Welcome back, Perfect Mess! My late husband left me too. Life is much better now! Late husband? Not sure whether to say I'm sorry or give you a high five.  ! For me, it both sucks and doesn't suck at the same time. Definitely better off tho.  This forum hasn't changed at all... Looks like the same theme and banner too. That's now I knew I found the right one! hahaaa! |

IKR? a bit of both. and then downsizing by 80%, selling the house, and moving across the country. But I got that done last year.

Welcome back! I use the Wayback Machine at archive.org to look at several webpages I can no longer find.
I cannot get the link to post here. But, typing squalorsurvivors.com into the Wayback Machine will bring up some of the site.

I'm surprised someone hasn't registered that domain and used it to build a new website! Yeah, I'm familiar with wayback machine. I know the old owner was keeping it frozen in time but she was keeping it up. I forget her name tho. anybody know what happened to her?
