I have been struggling with something BIT calls "Avoidance" I look at the mess, it feels overwhelming, causing fatigue, so I do something else. I just looked at the BIT book again, and it looks as if I will be revisiting the topic of avoidance in the next chapter or two.
ta-da's: Loaded dishwasher with stuff from sink and elsewhere in the house. Started it. Made and ate breakfast Started making yogurt Worked on solving a genetic genealogy puzzle... This is called avoidance... I have a plan for my next research project. (I have a DNA match in Sweden. We know that we are related, way back in time. We keep hoping to find the connection, but it seems that there is what some people refer to as a sticky segment that doesn't readily split during recombination, which makes DNA matches appear closer than they are. Anyway, to work on this mystery, we have been building trees for shared matches, trying to find the connection. A few days ago I found the connection to 3 DNA matches. Our MRCA (most recent common ancestor) was my mother's mother's mother's father's father. This work is time consuming, but I rather enjoy it.)
to-do: Put yogurt in to pressure cooker. (I heat the milk in a double-boiler set up on the stove, because the pressure cooker burns the bottom, but it does well with the step of keeping it warm for 8-10 hours) Food prep for this week's work meals. Tidy up the kitchen/ I want to focus on the hard-to-reach area behind the kitchen sink. My kitchen is set up in a u shape, and the sink and range are in corners set at a 45 degree angle, which leaves large difficult-to-reach triangles of countertop where stuff gets shoved, but... I need to figure a plan. in about 20 minutes, log into CLA meditation meeting and then spend some time reading BIT and doing some of the assignments.

Ally släkting till en släkting That is what my Swedish family always says when introducing all the far flung relatives. My mother's grandparents were all born in Sweden. Over the years we have lost the language, many of the traditions, and contact with any relatives there, so I have been working on building the tree and connecting to DNA matches. I have a few who have been very friendly and helpful, others are suspicious... but overall it has been a good experience. I went to Sweden last summer with my sister and daughter. We went to some of the villages where ancestors once lived. It was quite an experience. I am checking with my cousins to see if they would want to plan a group trip. I think it could be fun!

Greetings, all! I'm a pro at avoidance. Here's one: Can someone tell me if you see my avatar, or if I'm just a foot? I thought I'd add grey to my hair but not only can't figure out how, but it said folks see the footprint as my avatar. Bummer. Good avoidance, though. So. Here's the ta-da I bring today from yesterday evening: I planned my dinner menu for April. (I *despise* being faced daily with the mental question, "What am I gonna make?") And now, To Do: Fill dishwasher and run it Rotate laundry Clean downstairs bathroom Good luck all.

You successfully added an avatar Joyfrau but I don't see any grey hair. Just freckles and pigtails-cute! Ally interesting things as usual. I wish I had inherited my relatives bread baking skill. I guess if you try it more than once a year you get better at it. I found the week day workalong in the other subforum and I will try to keep up here and there. But first I have to do some work. am garbage day, Monday dishes some washed, some still needed. progress on getting the wedding gift out the door.

I read somewhere a while back that the system to create the avatar is no longer part of proboards, so you can keep it as it is, or substitute it with a photo or avatar you create elsewhere.

Cleaned the area behind the sink. I have some plants there. I need to find a place to put some of the other stuff that was there. I cleaned two rolling pins that my husband made for me, and put them away. I got the mail... it was all junk. Ate some lunch
to-do: Put away some things more from the kitchen counter. Food prep/packaging for next few days at work. Some more tidying up Go for a walk. It looks beautiful outside!

Thank you, beesnest and Ally, for feedback. For today at least, I'll stay young. Ally, I also struggle with "where does this live?!" when trying to clear space. There are just some things that don't have a good/logical place to go sometimes. Ta-da: Dishwasher loaded and running Laundry rotated Downstairs bathroom clean To do: Eat lunch Sweep upstairs level and down to first floor level Clean upstairs bathroom

Hello, everyone! I have a late start because I was finishing my book club book this morning. I'll need to leave for that in less than an hour. Hi, joyfrau ! Good to see you again. You could try the Dana K. White question: "If I were looking for this where would I look first?" Logical places are good, but there are other possibilities. E.g., I keep a shoehorn in my end table because that's right next to where I put my shoes on. Ally I'm glad your avoidance activity is engaging. I don't plan to put my DNA out there, but it's really interesting to hear what others are doing! Good luck cleaning those awkward kitchen places. Made bed and had meds. Started dishes soaking. Took out compostables. Pay bill. Clean out purse. Get dressed.

Hi, goldenthreads! It's good to be on here again, even if sporadically. Thanks for sharing that tip about where things live. I'm going to hold onto that! Ta-da: Ate lunch Swept upstairs level and down, but then didn't quit - Swept kitchen, including taking care of carpet runners To do: That darn upstairs bathroom I need to sort and put away my jewelry (I have a couple of nice ceramic dishes where I tend to put it when I take it off at the end of the day, and they're bursting!) Sweep front room (and then upper level and first floor are done) After time spent on WIT, I've discovered I can manage about nine tasks over the course of a day. So I have a goal of three more after this.
