Just closing out August  1) Hand over mom's stuff to the accountant is took me over a month to find  Give a heads up to our accountant that she will see our stuff sometime in September. Gave everything to DM's new accountant and since that didn't impact much of our personal stuff - I also finished our personal and submitted to our regular accountant. 2) Get the "easy" filing done at the office. Do as much as I can for a few weeks ahead. Didn't really have time but did clean off desk and get some important filing done. 3) Still working on our trust - this week going to reach out to the final few things we need to change over. Did a few more changes - I think I should be done by the next trip.4) Get a few things reviewed in our home office to make sure I've pulled everything necessary for the trip. We are converting DH's desk to a temporary charging/equipment hub because we have a wire eating kitten! I did pull everything I needed but we still haven't set up the charging station yet. However, no electrocuted kittens so all good.  5) Keep eating at home for the next few weeks - probably 2 meals out. And, then non-stop restaurant and eating at friends/relatives' houses for 3-4 weeks! Ate out much more than planned because we were constantly going out for shopping etc. and not at home. 6) Finish the trip prep - clothes, packing, buying gifts, all the incidentals Done, done, done - took A LOT of stuff. 7) Clean out a few more things in DM's old room - move the last of it to the closet or to be stored in our room. No more time to do things like hang pictures, etc. It will now be "trip central". Emptied DM's old room of most things - made packing and organizing much easier. I have tons to do in our room now. 8) Finish kitten proofing a few more areas. He will be out F/T within the next few days. Finished but it's all relative - he's growing! And climbing! But no damage while we were gone. 9) Go on trip - be safe - have fun.  Now to figure out September goals - probably putting away all the trip stuff.  |
