HI Diane, when I get home, puppy greets me so happily, she smiles! then she graciously leads me to the backdoor to go out and play, and she'll usually run and grab a toy to bring first. it is really cute!
So I did some work-work had one short meeting split my lunch - half sorting out and putting away; half taking puppy for a walk
Girlcat seems restless today. I wish she'd settle and sleep but she keeps roaming around. I hope she feels ok!
I have a meeting at 3 that I am not looking forward to....
goal is to be very productive until then!

Okay, so that shows planning--and people say that animals are dumb!
I took the dog out and I wanted to water but I'm going to wait until later in the evening when there's more shade. And probably more mosquitoes, but I'll spray citrus room spray on myself. I at least have to water the tree tonight.

ugh, Diane, my back was bothering me yesterday. it is so distracting! I have been reading posts on a subreddit cheekily called "ask old people" and so many people mentioned how taking NSAIDs all the time screwed up their digestive track. I know you are good about not taking unnecessary meds, but I am feeling quite conflicted! I bought some ThermaCare wraps last night, but what I really need to do is stretch and exercise.
fortunately I had a reprieve this morning.
I took a long nap. its hotter here than I hoped. But I bought some electrolytes so that will help.
DONE: pulled out the shop vac to empty and wash pulled out a couple more metallic items as well moved the side tables and arm chairs back--still need to tweak the arrangement
I am having a moment of resistance or something will try to get back to it!

Hello reve, only one day til the weekend!
Scholar, you're right, I'm careful about what I take. Several months ago when I had my Xrays showing all the back and hip problems, the doctor told me to get Tylenol Arthritis, that it wouldn't bother my stomach. So I bought a bottle, but haven't taken any of it yet. I guess if I get that horrible pain again where I could barely walk for a day or two, I'll try it--but for minor pain I'm not going to take it. I guess if I was working I would have to but since I'm free to sit down at any time I want, I will just rest when I hurt.
Severe back pain is debilitating because you feel it any time you move. Arm pain or leg pain still let you function in many ways, but back pain sometimes makes you sit still and not move much.
And speaking of back pain, I got a call from my shopping friend. She sounded a little better, she said in therapy they are working on her standing up and today she managed to stand up out of her wheelchair and grab the walker and take a couple of steps, which doesn't sound like much but is a big improvement from not being able to move from a bed. But she still sounds like she has a lot of pain and is discouraged by how slow her progress is. She's also confused about the various things different people have said about her heart. This is how I know she's really sick--she is someone who is intelligent, interested in medicine, and who is not afraid of advocating for herself. The fact that she's not demanding to see the cardiologist to get a very clear picture of what's going on is not like her. She also isn't clear on what's going on with the pancreatitis. Luckily the wife of her handyman friend is a nurse and she's helping her, but it still sounds like she just doesn't have the energy to press for details.
I still need to pick another drawer to clean out for the last thing to do for the August Challenge, I'll do that now.

I cleaned out another drawer, and I remembered that I have a return to take to the UPS store. I need to do it tomorrow because each day will just get hotter. So I printed the label and taped it on the box.
I also went outside to water the tree and did half an hour of weeding while out there. So, I am done for today. I will eat a late-ish dinner and then get ready for bed.

that's awesome that your friend stood up, Diane!
I started to get heat exhaustion symptoms again. but I had electrolytes at the ready! When I was reading up on it, I discovered my new med can be a factor! (beta blocker) that actually made me feel better about the situation. I took a cold shower, and eventually a nap. It is a glorious 72 degrees, so I am going to putter.
DONE: hosed out stuff put hose back brought stuff in put shopvac back together messaged w/ DVD
NEXT UP: vacuum flies who are trapped and then let them go set up sorting table consolidate stuff on tables put cover on harpsicord empty some cabinet space vacuum in there

This morning I did almost all of the dailies and folded the dryer load of clothes from yesterday. I did that 12 minute dreaded task of cleaning the cat fountain. Took a shower and washed my hair. Went to Larry and Carolyn's and stayed with Larry while Carolyn food shopped and picked up our order of Chinese food. I enjoyed seeing them so much. Wishing good things for all. catcats

Your lunch dinner sounds wonderful catcats! Hurt backs are tough! Hope all ailing backs are better My 3 pm meeting went over but it wasn’t bad. Wrapped up the work day with a game of fetch. I also trimmed some vines and branches and bagged it up. The fetch game bought me some time to prepare and eat dinner. Then took puppy for a walk Went to one spot and I noticed a brownish plant. Then I looked back and it was not a plant or bush but an adult mama deer staring at me. Not too far away too, but thankfully puppy was immersed in ground sniffing. I got us out of there and realized three deer were there in all - the natural camouflage is excellent After the walk, I did some more sorting and recycling Put away 20 things again Did the dishes Did some shredding Gave girlcat her meds. Ground up in tuna juice seems to be working! Hope they are making her feel better. Her meow was so sweet today

DVD threw me for a loop saying he prefers trim darker than the walls. I was thinking white. So this has led to burrowing down rabbit holes. And awkward conversations. we are figuring out how to work together.
I did get the flies but that is it. I need to let myself rest! nighty night!

Happy Friday! Tonight is the first football game on our new turf field! I was gifted a new sweatshirt to wear so I will be all decked out. And it will likely be cool enough to wear the sweatshirt.
But first I have so much work to get through. I am in the office today and ready to roll!

ohblondie today we have perfect weather for a football game! it is cool that you still attend the games after your kids are grown. hope your team wins! mylittlescholar I like white trim too, bright white in fact, but maybe you can do different rooms different ways, if they are separate from each other? So far I fed the animal tribe, showered/dressed, took puppy to daycare, did poop patrol in backyard did work emails we have a situation at work w another division that is making our lives in my division very difficult because they want power and control over one of our huge initiatives. this is an unusual situation because one key player has the usual bad corporate behavior but also blatantly lies. I have dealt with an outright liar like this only once before in my career and it was still hard to contain but I never met with them w/out a third party present to take notes. nowadays it is easier as we can record meetings. I have to talk with Chaos about how to handle the next battle move! but I want to hold off until the afternoon so I can have a peaceful morning free of chaos! last night I did the 20 thing pick up and I plan to make that a regular strategy. some of the 20 things are just from that day's living but some get to clutter. and it seems very doable at 20. today workwise I want to focus on a pesky project that will take all of my morning. I also want to lifewise plan out the bills for this pay period, pay them, and plan for what is left deal with a form I need to fill out for DD university run to the grocery store to get food mostly for the animal tribe do a load of laundry mop kitchen floor - that is way easier when puppy is at daycare as she loves to chase the mop clean litter organize a bit in DD room. I have her permission! Girlcat seems to be doing a bit better. The vet said she would not get her vision back but to me she seems to see a bit better. It may be that her blood pressure and thyroid medicine are making her feel better, so she is better able to cope. ok now to pesky project!!

Oh I sympathize with that, oust!
vacuum flies who are trapped and then let them go
Well, bless your heart scholar!
I went this morning to drop off the return at the UPS store, I got there at the perfect time because there was no one ahead of me. And since we are going to have 4 days in a row around 95 degrees starting tomorrow, I also went to the post office to get some more of the prepaid stamps to use on my book shipping, and went to the library to pick up the last books ordered before I put the orders on hold. So now I really am set and don't have to go anywhere for the next week. Today is supposed to be 87 but it's not hot yet so the walk was okay.
Now I need to come up with some kind of formal strategy for the day so I don't waste time. I always do better if I at least try some kind of schedule or list than if I just wander around doing whatever pops into my head at the time.
