Hello oust!
Scholar, are you painting in the house you're living in, or somewhere else? I'm confused again...
There is still much to do in the reading room but I am done for today. I did move the shelving unit, it looks better in the new location and things on it will be more accessible. I also had to move a heavy piece of furniture (not sure what it's called, a bedroom storage item that has a cabinet on top and drawers on the bottom--I guess it's another form of a dresser but it's taller and heavier). So, all the moving has hurt my back, but hopefully a night's sleep will make it better.
Both lighted plant tables are a big mess--not just from things added to them during this move, but they are still messy from the seedling months. There are also still seedlings there that have to be planted in the fall, which means...soon. There is also a big pile of things that have to find new homes because they are no longer needed in this room. However, they are off in a corner so the rest of the room is useable. I'm happy with the rearrangement, I'm not one to rearrange rooms just because I want a change of scenery, but I think things will work better this way. And an added benefit I didn't even think about is that the new location of my chair at the window allows me to see the tree that is right at the edge of the neighbor's front lawn! This is the tree that the people cut to within an inch of it's life a couple of years ago and I was sure they had killed it. But it has come back beautifully, even though it's still oddly shaped. It's an evergreen, I've tried to figure out what kind it is and the closest I can come is "Eastern Juniper".
I don't think I will accomplish anything else today. Today the house is definitely not decluttered, between the reading room project upstairs and the bird supply shelf project downstairs, it's messy. Hopefully I will finish the bird supplies tomorrow and maybe figure out what to do with some of the excess items in the reading room too.

Hi all! Busy day of being shorthanded at work. Had a chat with mum about spending time sorting out and delivering donations next weekend, so that would be handy.
Done: Disposed of wilted flowers Trip to recycling centre - two boxes full of cardboard and 6 trashbags gone Vacuumed living room Wiped down kitchen worktops Handled mail Achieved coffee table zero Achieved dining table zero Set out clothes for tomorrow Organised lunches for next five days Ordered new bookcases - fingers crossed all goes well with that

Good evening reve!
I'm going to go downstairs early again, my back is feeling the work so I can't wait to get to bed tonight.
I looked at Amazon today for the "A Thousand Miles Up The Nile" book, the one I returned without reading because I could only keep it three weeks. The hard copies are kind of expensive, even used, so I'm going to get it for Kindle--only $3.99, but I have credits for choosing "Amazon Day delivery" when I order things, so it will be free. Since I will only read a few pages of this book at a time it shouldn't interfere with my reading project.
I want to get another box of books out of my storage area up here, but it involves moving the microwave cart and either walking in there bent over, or crawling in, and I don't think I should do that tonight with my back.
Good night everyone, I'll see you in the morning!

Diane---Be careful with your back ! You've moved a lot of stuff today.
I did the dailies today, and laundry, and called in a scrip refill. Unloaded the DW and then reloaded it---part of my challenge work.
Emptied the almost full dehumidifier. Some more kitchening. Some PUPA.
Talked on phone with my BFF in CT. Texted with my DD. Folded clothes from dryer.
It was very hot here today. I think it reached ~99degrees. Maybe right here, a bit less, ~96.
Wishing good things for all.

Good morning womble!
We started the day with some badly needed rain, I don't know how much fell because I haven't been outside yet, but I'm estimating at least half an inch. The dog had to go out at 1am, so she hasn't needed to go out yet this morning--she wouldn't have gone once she saw the rain anyway. Now it's stopped raining so I'm sure she'll want to go out soon.
I have lots of clean up to do from my two projects so that will be the focus today.
Just one more day of heat and then a week of more comfy temps!

I finally took the dog out, there was between 1/2 and 3/4 inch of rain in the bucket, not a lot but something. No more rain til next week.
I also did enough trimming to fill the yard waste can, and then I brought the cans to the street. It's a little early to put them out but there was room and I wasn't the first person on the block to put their cans out so that's fine.
The second green pumpkin in the yard is now about 4 inches across.
I also brought some things down to the basement and checked to see if there was any water down there, there wasn't--I wouldn't normally expect it with half an inch of rain but it came down pretty suddenly.
TO DO:
Call decluttering client Get box of books from storage space Restock water in fridge Delete 10 hard emails

Working from home today and it is a scorcher out there.
I did not sleep well last night and was up early to watch the news at 530am. The were broadcasting live from one of our elementary schools and I wanted to watch. It is catching up to me now. I have spent the day editing policy and in meetings that I wasnt sure why I was there.
I ate leftovers from lunch and tossed some things that have been on the deck for a year or more. why.......
i am also doing laundry. hot weather and all of my shorts were dirty

Hi everyone it’s a real scorcher here too ohblondie. I am home for lunch. Just leaving now. The first thing I did was hose down puppy because it’s just so hot out there. I had a nice visit with DD in Collegetown on Monday. However, she is extremely stressed with one of her classes and called me yesterday. I have heard a saying that a mother is as happy as her saddest child. I have my one and only, snd I am pretty sad right now as she grapples with these hard things. I’ve just been doing the usuals of work, walking the dog, taking care of the animals and laundry. girl cat continues to be in a better state. I am so happy that when she was getting worse, and I thought it was just old age that I called the vet. the medicine is really helping her -she is still in her very old age but she seems to me to see better, which is so great. I have been doing my 20 things -I devoted sometime to the kitchen and refrigerator and got rid of older food. I am eating down my food for the most part, so my cupboards are starting to look empty and some of my meals are kind of odd combinations, but this is kind of a fun game for me, so I’m fine with it. Work is work -met with chaos yesterday. She asked me where one project was. I told her we were working towards a due date -the date when these things need to be done… she said that is too late and everybody’s asking for the project now -that surprised me, because I said who even knows about this project?? and she said well just her ….that is one of her tactics -to claim everybody’s asking for something when nobody is; lying doesn’t really motivate me. Need to head back to the office now -going to try to pay some bills this afternoon in between work work

I only called one bank, on the distribution I remembered that last year I had a problem because my checking account bank had changed their name but I still had old checks with the old name on it. So this year I'm going to try listing the checking account as an external account ahead of time, maybe then they won't ask me for a blank check and I won't have the same problem. I have to wait now because it takes a while to add an external account. I'm making a reminder to try again in a week.
Now it's time for lunch.

Good afternoon ohblondie and bree!
and she said well just her
Oh, how slimy! Kind of sounds like a certain ex-president who constantly says "everyone is saying..." when no one is saying it.
Bree, what does your DD not like about the class? Is it too hard for her? A bad teacher? Not what she thought it would be about?

I sorted the next book box. There were 24 books in this box again, and I am willing to give up 7 right away. There are 6 definite keepers, and that leaves 11 that I want to try reading before deciding. Out of the 11, I noticed that 5 were historical fiction--I guess that's a genre that I'm attracted to but still don't want to read one after the other. I'm swapping out 2 from this box for the 2 HF from last time but obviously, at some point I'm going to be left with an entire box of HF to read.
Obviously the hope here is that of the 11 books I will not want to read most of them, reading 11 books will take a while.
While in the storage area I opened a box of nonfiction. These are much hard to give up for some reason, because they are all topics that interest me. I kind of rummaged through the top half of the box and did find 2 to give up, and one that I want to read next--not a long book so it shouldn't take a long time to read.
And this post reminds me that I haven't posted in the 2023 items in a while, I can report several books gone!
Next I'm going to see if the dog wants to go outside.
