Good afternoon scholar!
$85 a gallon! Is that what good paint costs now?
There are so many things that I don't buy for long periods of time and then when I see the current price I can't believe it.

California requires all paint to be low VOC, so it is cheaper elsewhere. (Ironically, the State Capital uses "historic" paint that they buy from Nevada )
I made a list on my blog, and have been plugging through it. mostly taking stuff outside and cleaning it, so far.
more scrubbing to go!

My dad has his clean clothes and a strawberry milkshake! My mom is freshly showered and I dealt with a few things for her Dragged the trash cans to the curb DH piles his bottles in a jenga worthy sculpture in the kitchen. Will bug him to take them out to the recycle bin
I am tired...the heat? the crappy food I am eating? lack of walking?

Oh wow, that's interesting!
Ohblondie, the heat will make you tired! Of course, all of the responsibilities you have will make you tired too!
The temp here is down to 70, and tomorrow's high will not be much higher, Friday too. It will feel so good.
I'm eating dinner and will probably go downstairs early again. I did finish the bird supply shelves, but I have some downstairs PEEPing to do before going to bed. The upstairs reading room still needs a lot of work.
Good night everyone, see you in the morning!

Just wanting to note a few to dos, of small jobs I think could make a big difference: Take backpack to spare room Find a place for electric toothbrush plug Dust bedroom and take duster downstairs Find a place for hair styling supplies - cube? Move shoes from spare room to master bedroom Go through shoes and declutter odd shoes and anything that does not fit in shoe organisers Go through entryway unit and declutter old shoes and put air fresheners in proper basket
Also: Take laundry upstairs Put laundry away Change towels Take upstairs laundry downstairs and run a load

Good morning scholar, even though you've gone back to bed!
I'm estimating that I got about 4 hours of sleep last night, but at least it's cool--today and tomorrow a high of just over 70!
Hopefully those two things will cancel each other out and I'll be able to get at least a little work done today.

bree I am so happy that your sweet old girl kitty is doing much better! I feel you on feeling the stress that your DD is feeling. Wouldn't it be wonderful to have a magic wand and make all the difficulties for our children go away? Of course we would then feel our power and extend that magic wand over other people we love and our pets and nature and on and on all over the world. If I was God......
Yesterday I got 3 loads over to the animal thrift. The main guy checking things before they are accepted was turning away a lot of stuff. (Their donation hours are 10 - 2 two days a week so there's always a line of cars.) The first thing he said to me was, "You don't have any picture frames do you?" Nope, this time around 90% of everything was brand new, with tags.
One thing was a cat scratcher that was rated #1 on many googled sites and had an excellent rating on Chewy. My cats wouldn't go near it. And it was hard to put together. Accepting guy was thrilled, he said we will sell this today. Which made me very happy. I rarely write reviews but at the time I was messing with the scratcher life was annoyingly hard and I wrote a negative review on Chewy (about the item not about Chewy). About a week later I got an email from them saying they had read my review and were refunding the full price to me and there was no need to return it. I love those people!
Although I felt really good about how much stuff was donated, last night I had regrets. I even thought about going back and buying some of the things. Not serious but the thoughts were soothing ~ if I REALLY wanted them back I COULD go get them.

Good morning danny! Congrats on getting all those donations out! What I found out accidentally was that when I feel bad about getting rid of something, I spend time organizing my stash of my two favorite items--books and stationery stuff. Seeing how much I still have of my most loved things makes me feel good because these are fun things I will actually use and enjoy.
And speaking of books, I did trade out 2 other books for the HF that I didn't want to read right away. During my sleepless hours last night I started reading them--one I decided pretty early on that it wasn't for me. The other I've read about 40 pages and although it's good so far I'm still not totally committed to it so I'll read more of it today. I also still have 3 or 4 library books in progress.
