danny15 Way to go on those donations! Our City Mission just takes everything but sorts and tosses quite a bit. Someone donated money so it doesnt cost the mission money to toss items. I woke up in the middle of the night feeling quite poorly. I took a tums and fell back asleep but still felt meh when I got up. So I worked "under covers" all morning. I grabbed food and ate and a working at my parents. I feel somewhat better but not 100%. I have a call in 7 mins. then I am going to call the real estate agent and get this moving. Heat alerts today - through the weekend. Outside work will have to wait as it seems to be hitting me pretty hard

meeting went well I cannot seem to access the mandated trainings I need to take and I like doing them on remote days
I keep getting heat advisories on my phone and severe thunderstorm warnings. But no rain yet.
this weekend there i so much to do!
Greek Festival, Italian Festival, 2 farmer's markets, a college football game/tailgate party for the son of a friend who is playing college ball (where my son played and my daughter cheered) He made varsity on day 2 of tryouts/practices and is a starter! Plus a campaign fundraiser.
so lest I be distracted by all the fun....there are a few things I still need to do here to get the house ready, small things. and the fridge started leaking. and I need to get new vacuum cleaner bags.
ok - back to work....

the fridge started leaking
Oh no!
After lunch I took the dog out.
I also tied back the giant sunflower plant for the third time--this time I did it because a large spider made a web from one of the upper flowers to the back porch steps, and the bottom of the web is head level. Last night when I went out in the dark my head touched it, and the spider started moving--at first I thought it was a bee but they don't fly in the middle of the night--luckily it was moving away from me instead of towards me. So I've been walking around the long way since then, now I cleared the damaged web away and tied the flower stalk tighter against the porch so if another web is made, hopefully I will not hit it with my head in the dark. The spider is still there, on the sunflower, so I'm sure another web will appear. It's the kind of spider with a huge round body and short legs, instead of the usual kind with a little body and very long legs. Last summer there was one of this kind that made a web on my polkweed plants by the gate, and that one was out of reach so it was okay, I would just say hello to it every time I passed by. It was there for the entire summer, so maybe this is the offspring of that one, hanging around nearby.
That spider last summer made me think of my sister, because any time there was a spider in her house, or the time the carpenter bees were in her porch, she would give them names and talk to them, and be sure to tell me how they were doing.
I have a friend on the east coast and she says she's having 95 degrees which is very unusual where she is. So I feel for all of you east coast people--this 72 degrees feels so amazing! It's still humid outside but to go out and not be slammed with heat is such a treat.

Has anyone here used "virtual credit card numbers"? I keep getting a notice that my bank offers them but they don't explain them very well.
Now I have to figure out what to eat for dinner, I have things prepared but I have a taste for sweet potato so will probably make one.
I got more done than I thought I would today, I attribute that to the comfortable cool weather, what a difference it makes in my energy. Although I will be happy when bedtime comes, and I will hope for a better night than last night.

Great to hear everyone making progress! ohblondie, I hope you feel better soon! Diane, they're not something I've heard of I'm afraid. Had a rubbish day and spent most of it in a foul mood. Decided I wanted to accomplish something to make myself feel better. Decided to tackle the door of my oven, which has maybe been cleaned once since we moved into this house over 5 years ago. I have a tub of Internet favourite The Pink Stuff and viral scrubber Scrub Daddy and I just went at it and I'm stunned at how much I managed in half an hour of scrubbing. It will need another go over, but I'm feeling much the better for having accomplished something.
Done: Cleaned oven door for the first time in years! Bag of trash filled and taken out Take laundry upstairs Went through an IKEA bag of stuff in spare room Filled a trash bag Spent 40 mins PEEPing in spare room Find a place for hair styling supplies Move pile of shoes from spare room to master bedroom Achieve coffee table zero Achieve dining table zero Set out clothes for tomorrow
Optimistic weekend to do:
Put laundry away Change towels Take upstairs laundry downstairs and run a load Take backpack to spare room Find a place for electric toothbrush plug Dust bedroom and take duster downstairs Go through shoes and declutter odd shoes and anything that does not fit in shoe organisers Go through entryway unit and declutter old shoes and put air fresheners in proper basket

Over the past few days I got some areas cleaned that the handyman will need to get to for repairs. Good enough clean; I will have to do deep cleaning after he does his thing which will be cutting and painting drywall and ceiling ~ holes from plumbing repairs. I think he plans on coming on Saturday for estimates. There are some outside jobs too if it doesn't get too expensive.
Tomorrow a lady is coming for an estimate on more fence work. This time I will order about a dozen split rails that I can have on hand to replace myself. The landscaper has been dragging his heels on some things. He has a lot going on in his personal life so I have not pushed too hard.
Yesterday and today we have been eating down leftovers. There was one chocolate cookie left. DD1 just asked if I wanted it. She is always so thoughtful about things like that.

Hello reve! Good for you for taking your frustration out on the oven door instead of something else! You might as well get something good done when you have negative energy to expend.
Almost time to get ready for bed, good night everyone, see you in the morning!

My goodness, people are getting a lot done !
I have done laundry and the dailies. A bunch of kitchening too. And a bunch of PUPA. Went through paperwork on the DR table. Brought back from curb the neighbor's trash can and my own.
Recycled a prayer book from last Lent after flipping through it. Talked to my friend, Carolyn. Did some personal grooming, but really need a hair cut badly, so texted my hair cutter. Didn't hear back yet though.
Watered front porch plants.
It was still very hot here today, until around supper time. It then thundered and thundered and spit about 11 drops of rain. I sat out on the front porch and watched my hummers feeding and also watched the world go by. It cooled off so well and felt delicious. I kept thinking I should go in and do more--and eventually did--but it just felt good to sit there in the cool , so to speak.
Wishing good things for everyone.

Claiming Read Back Amnesty
I haven’t been here for a couple of weeks. It’s amazing how fast I hoard things and stuff gets out of control when I am not holding myself accountable every day.
Yesterday was an awful day. I will spare you the details, and I will just say it was awful and sent me into a tailspin. Today, though, I woke up with motivation to declutter, clean, sort and improve my living spaces. I took the day off from my job. I am going to work at home all day. Depression won’t win. I am not broken.
I am hoping to have a super long list here by the end of the day. Maybe the longest list I have ever had. I am going to be zooming around the house. Sweating. Scrubbing, tossing, sorting, moving, organizing, dusting. But the hardest part are the millions of decisions. Can anyone relate to that?
It is 6:52 a.m. in my part of the world. I am going to say ready, set, go at 7:a.m.. (I have already showered and brushed my teeth)
Done: Brushed teeth Showered
