I went downstairs to feed the dog and retrieve the dry laundry, and I cut up some zucchini from the garden to steam for dinner. It never got below 70 on the first floor so I didn't turn the heat on, I'm going to assume that it won't get below 68 overnight even though there will be a low in the 50s. If it does I'll turn the heat on tomorrow.
Good night everyone, see you in the morning!

cando prayers for your mom; and you to keep your stress levels down.
catcats be careful with your back!!
desposito glad your puppy was more settled and that you got better sleep.
Got more stuff in the truck for donation. One thing was a very large, heavy dehumidifier brand new in the box. Can't even remember why I bought it years ago. I didn't think we would be able to get it out of the house and up in the back of the truck but we did it!
I have a large bulky coin sorter that I was not sure about. We always save change from every dollar broken and over time it adds up to hundreds of dollars. Years ago banks around here had change sorters but they kept jamming and were phased out. Some grocery stores have them I think but you have to trade the money for store items to get a full exchange of money. I think if you want cash they charge a fee. So I bought a sorter on Amazon. It came with coin tubes and later I ordered a kit to clean the machine. Apparently it has the same issue as the bank sorters with jamming.
I wasn't sure about donation, it is still brand new in the box. The thought was that we could use it until it jammed, then clean it and donate. Or just trash it after getting use out of it. DD1 reminded me that she already has all the coins sorted as she likes to check every single date for cool coins. So really all it would be used for would be to get the coins in the stand-up wrappers really fast. The banks won't take a lot of loose coins anymore so we need to wrap them.
I don't mind wrapping coins. So, donate. Then I felt like I really needed to find the cleaning kit to donate with it. Of course, it's lost. So, keep it. Back and forth.
I could not decide whether to donate some brand new World Series items from when the Nationals (D.C. team) won a few years ago. I want all of that stuff to be together also but I couldn't find everything I wanted. While looking I kept changing my mind.
This was a very bad day for decisions. We ended up with the dehumidifier, a box filled with random items, a lot more new clothes, some bathroom stuff (toilet bowl brushes, shower curtains matching trash cans, all new), a very large umbrella, a few kitchen items, brand new professional dog grooming kit, other new dog items. WTH is wrong with me? I swear I am not spending one more penny.
DD2 said she would like some things.
For over a year I have kind of wanted to sell the good stuff but with not doing any social media I don't know how to get the word out. Also I don't really want to deal with strangers and cash transactions. There is a way to transfer money directly to accounts but I don't understand that either. I want stuff out so donations are heavy right now.
This whole day has been a jumble of thoughts much like what I am verbal vomiting out here. Very frustrating. At least some stuff will be leaving tomorrow.
Oh, I did get DD1 to actually THROW OUT some of her old athletic shoes. She calls them her *around the house shoes*. I reminded her she has a LOT of around the house shoes. In return I threw out an even amount of moccasins that I was saving to have resoled. Please; never going to do that. I did let go of a few things just to *exercise* that tossing muscle. One was a really nice decorative pillow in the bag. That was tough.
Edit ~That good pillow was a donate not a trash. Still, it exercised the muscle.

Good morning everyone!
Bree, hugs for girl cat, may she continue to have good days with you!
Danny, as long as you keep looking through things on a regular basis you'll be able to let more things go. You're changing a lifelong habit of keeping things around you, so it's going to be hard to let lots go at one time. Although your list of things going out looks pretty long!
I woke up at 4:30 and couldn't fall back to sleep, so I just got up. The good news is that although the dog had a panting session of almost an hour, after that she slept all night. In fact, she's still sleeping peacefully, I will let her tell me when she wants to go out.

Its wonderful wednesday!
I got up and drove 45 mins to the rural SSA office near me. I got what I hope is the last form to settle the estate. I am now home and jumping into work.
It is a rainy and dreary day.
Nothing more of value to add....yet

Thanks Diane I am amazed at how well she is doing! Sunny day here! One of the animals woke me up A bit before 4 am so I was wake until about 5:30. Second night in a row Nevertheless managed to get to work with clean hair and fed animals
Work is so so. Political stuff brewing.
Need to head home for lunch duty but must stop and buy catfood- they go through it so quickly as I indulge girlcat who prefers fresh wet food at all times
I am kind of depressed. Just missing DD. And she is still kind of unhappy this year vs last. Lots of changes. And work. Much to be grateful for but sometimes it just adds up!

Good morning scholar, ohblondie and bree!
This morning I've been slowly chipping away on the time consuming things on my desk. I get a buildup of paper that needs to be gone through and since it's in a couple of neat piles I ignore it for a while, but today I am annoyed by it so have been going through stuff. I'm also editing my to do lists. It's chilly again today which makes me aware of the changing season and the passing of time. Most people do a clean out in spring but I feel more like having a fresh start in fall.
I need to work on plants this afternoon too.

Hi People !! bree --Hopefully, your DD will work through her disappointment and the year will look better for her. And I think you will feel so much better. It has been said that we are only as happy as our most unhappy child. There is a certain amount of truth to that. Bless you and your sweet girl cat. You handle things so well !! ohblondie ---Smart you ! Driving for 45 minutes to get that form ! And now you have it. Kudos !! I have put on laundry and done the cat pans. Also I cleaned the dreaded cat fountain. Watered the DR and LR plants except for the Spider plant which has a different schedule, . Spent a while making up a Walmart order for groceries and supplies. It will come tomorrow. I do need to water the front porch plants today, but it doesn't take long. Not sure what to do the rest of the day. It rained and stormed a bundle last night, so it's a bit wet to weed. And I hate to chance kicking up my back problem right now, so that makes some of my project work a poor option. I'll think of something though. Maybe I'll be back later. In the meantime, my best to all ! catcats

((( bree))) I vaguely remember sophomore year is tougher in general. I agree with Fall's fresh start, Diane. I recently learned many ancient cultures called August the first month of the year--when Sirius returned in the northern hemisphere. catcats I hope you can find something fun.
we have been goofing off--just so tired of working. But time to get back at it!
today DVD needs to paint the closet, I need to keep working at his mom's and then we will both go pack? OR maybe I will go pack, then stay over at his mom's? yeah, I guess the latter.
NEXT UP: do face check weather change clothes? transfer packing stuff from DVD's car to mine collect boxes and put in my car bring big marker and tape and cling wrap and hangers
stop at the store (which?) and pick up something (what?) stop at DP's and pick up a chair to DMIL's unload make boxes pack

I always think of fall as the start of a new year, because to me the start of school is the start of a new year
DH kindly delivered my dad's clean clothes this am I grabbed meat (for meatloaf), potatoes, and green beans for dinner My friend's DD was working at the store. She has some special needs (and no motivation to get up and do anything) and her mom is thrilled this might lead to a job!
Tomorrow I will scan and send that paper in to the lawyer. Hopefully all is done.
I lost internet in the early afternoon so I ran to Starbucks to be able to attend a meeting. The internet and I are both back now.
Before I ran out to a 3pm meeting, I filled the sink with dirty dishes and hot soapy water. I think I will run downstairs and wash those dishes before I go get my mom to bring her to visit my dad.

Yeah, I always feel at this time of year that the excitement of summer is over and it's time to knuckle down to another hard year of work, but also try some new things. Definitely what I'm doing at work. Weird to be bringing some of my decluttering energy into my professional life.
Done: Wiped down kitchen worktops Wiped down a big smudge I noticed on a door Load of laundry Emptied living room trash Filled a bag of trash Achieved coffee table zero Achieved dining table zero Cleared air dryer Laundry from machine to dryer Set out clothes for tomorrow

Good evening everyone! This was a different kind of day for me, I just kind of worked on various things and didn't think about what I "should" be doing. I wouldn't say I got a lot done but I did some very procrastinated things and feel like I relaxed some.
I never did have to turn the heat on but there is one more night of lows in the lower 50s and only 70 tomorrow, so still possible. The following two days will be mid-to-upper 70s. I still need to mow, but the front doesn't look too bad so as long as I do it by Friday it should be okay.
I checked on the two pumpkins today, the one in the back is bright orange, still small--the second one is yellow-y orange and is a little bigger than the other one. I looked up when to pick pumpkins and it said before the first frost, but that's because they taste better if you leave them on the vine longer. However, I won't be eating these, I will just pick them and appreciate their beauty and the fact that some squirrel (probably) brought seeds and buried them in my yard! And then forgot to eat them!
Although I guess I should pick them before the squirrels start eating them--they eat cut jack-o-lanterns more because there's already an opening for them to start gnawing on, but I'm seen whole pumpkins on peoples' porches and they have teeth marks on them too. They are currently hidden under the huge leaves of the plant, but I'm sure squirrels know to rummage around and see what's under there. Honestly, I will probably take them in the house to admire them for a while and then maybe cut them open while they're still good and put them outside so the squirrels can have a treat, and plant more seeds for next year!
I'm eating dinner and will go downstairs in an hour or so, good night everyone, see you tomorrow!
Diane

how cool to bring decluttering to your work life, reve
that's sweet that you share the bounty with the other creatures, Diane. there is a creature sharing our bounty in the kitchen--found some droppings under the bags. kitty cat doesn't know that's his department.
I did a bit of packing for DVD's mom. it exacerbated my back. so I have been in bed. but the housecleaners are coming between 8:00 and 8:30 am, so if I want to do any more prep, I need to get up.
I could start by following ohblondie's idea of a sink full of hot soapy water. have a lot of dishes to wash.
